As of today the grocery store where my wife works will no longer have any fresh eggs at all.
The commercial stock jas collapsed due to bird flu,I shit you not.
They pulled all the eggs in the coolers and don't expect any anytime soon.
Also expect a huge price jump when they return.
Wtf is that all about?

This is a tree that chose a swamp to grow in. Not the best decision I guess. Shallow roots and loose swamp soil did it in.

Government should be exactly like Jury Duty and pay the same. You get a Draft notice. Do the job for a year or 2 at your current wages. Done deal. No fat severance pay. No huge .gov pension...... Certainly couldn't be worse than the mess we have now. Odds are at least a few of the drafted would have enough Civic pride to actually make moves good for the country and not just for filling their pockets with taxpayer coin.

I totally believe what your saying about the lack of sensible people in control. There is also a huge problem with governments becoming a way of life for some members. They act very high and mighty and I don't believe they operate with average citizen in mind, not unless there is a need to use them in someway.
I think there are civic minded adults who would work for the common good, not for personal gain or to influence decisions that favor those who are already well off.
I would not want to be an honest politician in todays governments. You would likely be a lone wolf. Not part of the pack.

Birds go crazy for bee larva, I've seen mainly woodpeckers and flickengers that usually hit them

There is a Northern Flicker family that hangs around the area where the hornets nest is. I didn’t think of that but I believe they are insectivores. Thanks.

Just went out to blow leaves. It was more like blowing acorns. Have never seen so many in all my time. They have been bouncing off the roof for over a month. Loud enough to wake you up. And going to the car is taking your life in your hands. Besides getting hitting on the head, it is like walking on ball bearings. Hood of my truck looks like a hail storm hit it.

I've seen the Taiwanese down snake alley (Lungshan district) in Taipei eating live baby orangutan brains - with chopsticks - but never seen them making a meal out of monkey meat - probably has been done though - thinking about it -

Citizens can vote. You must have served in the military to become a citizen. General public are equal in every other way to Citizens, except they cannot vote.

All politicians must spend 1/3 of their term in office in active military service.

Been there. Took photos of the operation: They hang a cobra up by it's head, slice the skin and peel it off the poor live snake. One shot glass collects bright green bile, another collects venom.

Then the vein that goes down the length of the body is slashed, and the dark blood is collected in a larger glass.

Lastly, the bright red lung blood is collected. Alla this horror is placed on a tray with a large white pill.

The customer picks up the green shot glass of bile and knocks it back... makes a horrid face, and gulps the glass of dark blood followed by the pill. Then she (I watched a woman do this) knocks back the shot glass of venom, and chases that with the bright red blood.
