Holy shit.........you are the man!As most of you folks know, I’ve got quite the pension for muscle cars. I bought a 61 Impala bubble top three years ago I have been assembling parts to build my last build… being at this is a 409 car. I took a 409 block and expanded at the 477 in.³. I contacted an individual. I know that makes custom headers three years ago and look what showed up on my doorstep the other day… headers made the proper way with the proper size tubing is close to impossible to find… I even have a cut out so I can flip the flaps on that 3 inch side collector and blow flames… I hope I have enough ass left in this life to build this last car… View attachment 19050403

I’m not sure for how long I’m gonna be able to live up to that word. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna cut the back half of the frame off and build a four link coil over suspension… the gent out in Texas does incredibly nice work. The best thing is you don’t have to take a ball paint hammer to fit them in the frame… as for taking my time, that is a given. This will be the first car I’ve ever built, totally by myself because my gearhead buddy moved over to Daytona two years ago… the stubby 3 inch pipes with no flange at the end of the headers is where I put my exhaust dumps. I flip a switch and I go to straight headers and no exhaust system behind it. I will certainly have them powder coated after the engine is in and I fit them and I’m happy with the fitment… I’ve got all the components to build this car except for the rear end. I’m thinking of a 9 V Ford rear end. I will have that custom built so the axles are closer to the pumpkin than the factory permitted them. I’m hoping to be able to get 12 inch street slicks under the wheel wells, but I will have to cut the inner wheel well out and weld the plate on it, I’m tired just talking about it, my body is in the state of fatigue and I can’t figure out whyHoly shit.........you are the man!
