I've not yet met a mushroom/ fungus, that I did not enjoy the flavor of.
My mother was quite the knowledgeable lady on the topic and we got
to experience many varieties of said fungi luckily.

I had dry mouth at first dose and didn't want to use water.
I ate whole caps and they kinda stick to my teeth when
dry like that.
So... I figured... butter! as I did also need to consume a bit more fat that day.
Worked so well to keep the shrooms from sticking to my teefies and tasted so delish that I tried it again.
May now be my new method of dosing

I have not but I am familiar with how they come about.
Considered manna for the indigenous and quite the delicacy
IIRC?

Outside of the occasional 'store bought' mushrooms,
we learned to forage locally as youngsters out in the country
where we lived back then.
My mom was the 'expert'.
I would not now forage anything beyond my limited
knowledge w/ out her guidance and... she has passed on.

1976 I stayed w/ her right here in the same neighborhood I live in currently.
Right downtown in the City.
Then, there were a great many more green spaces.
We would go walking and picking mushrooms in the
heart of the city
Blvd's and easement turned out a few different varieties surprisingly.
On home then to cook em up and eat em, yum.

I just do not trust my remaining knowledge these
days to go foraging for much more than morels
or beefsteaks. Can't now tell the diff between
a mushroom and a toadstool :O
