When it is dead silent all I hear is a constant RING! But after 30 years you get used to it.Positive and trust me........don't.

That sounds good for summer when I can't use the oven, good idea about cutting into smaller strips.I cut a lb of bacon in 1/4's with out even separating the slices.
Toss the whole thing in a 5 qt. dutch oven and fry it up crispy.
Easy peesy. Scoop it out with a slotted spoon, drain
the grease and wash the pan. I gave up on that whole
concept of the perfect strip of flat bacon

My wife has that pretty badly and hates quiet she says it makes it worse so we always have music or the tv on for background noise inside.

I used to do it in the driveway but nowadays the car wash is a lot easier.
