Thanks for the link SOG!! I know this is gonna sound stupid, lol-but how do you clone into coco? No Rapid Rooter, or rockwool? Thanks again!!
You're welcome man, lotta folks helped me out, and still do for that matter, so no sweat.

...and learning to clone in straight coco is easy, ...if you already have some cloning skills then cloning in coco will be STUPID easy.

...anyway, heres a few more links for you that will help you master cloning in coco.

FreezerBoy's coco cloning thread

Grateful D's coco cloning thread

dizzlekush's coco cloning thread

Herborizer's cloning with clorine thread

...each of these threads has useful info that will help you to understand how cloning works, it's not magic or luck, it's a skill that requires study and if you're willing to do your homework your rewards will be a consistent supply of high-grade ganja.

Peace, SOG

...btw, if you take a handful of cuttings and stick them in a cup of water on a window sill most will root within about 3 weeks.

Anybody know a good place to get 2.5/3 gal pots?

The plastic kitty litter pails work well. They work out to about 3.6G. Home Depot has rectangular bins at 2, 4 and 5 gal sizes. But that adds up if buying new compared to kitty litter pails. I like the rectangular pans from HD cause the plants seem to stretch out sideways more than upwards due to the bin shape. This helps when growing vert style.

I also bought some black 3G pails from an online grow store that work well.

I bought my containers (2 3/4 gal. office trash bins) for under a couple bucks each at Kmart.
Plenty of round stuff around for free but I wanted square or rectangular for space saving in my grow space.

Somebody tell me about t5's. I started my seedling under 6 23watt clf's in peat pellets. Just transplanted to 16oz dixie cup coco with perlite in the bottom. They're about 3" and on they'er 3rd or 4th set of leaves. Should I put these under my 1000k lite in my grow tent or let them get bigger under the cfl's? I started them tonite with 1/4 strenght Pure Blend Pro 3-2-4 cause the FloraNove Grow and Bloom was only available in 1 gal jugs and I didn't really have the $$ at the time. I did order a kilo jug of Maxigrow for this weekend and will do the Lucas/ KISS system in my hempy's. When should I top my babies? My tent is 4'x8'x7'. My plan is to run 18 hempy buckets, the first run half being bag seed and the other 9 from a buddy's outdoor strain before I try my hand on some ordered seed from a bank. This is my first grow indoors and am looking for all the help I can get. Share the knowledge my friends, I'm taking notes and thank you very very much. :tiphat:

T5's are just a slim line version of flourescent lighting . the old shop lights are T12 , then theres T8's T5'S etc.... you still have to get the 6500k spectrum bulbs to work in veg . or most come with a 5000k bulb in them & they seem to work fine for cloning & small cup veg . i pick them up as under the counter lights at walmart for 10$ a piece :)

So I can buy a 5000k t5 lite from walmart for $10 bucks and it's better than the 6 23 watt cfl's I'm currently using? I'll look tomorow. I have 9 more beans cracked and planted in 16oz dixie cups Hempy style with coco and perlite in the bottoms. How big do my mothers need to be before I take cuttings for clones? Can't wait to try my hand at cloning.Figured I'd try this with what I have on hand before I invest in a good strain of seeds. I've been drooling over the pics I'v seen on this site of your plants and many more. I welcome any and all advice on raising my babies. Thank you for all the input.:bump:

...right on man, i've seen enough of your work to know this will come to you easy, the trick (if there is a trick) is to develop a feel for the moisture content of the coco, not too dry and not too wet, lol.

...you should use that heat matt of yours to warm the rootzone as well, ...i'd bet you already have a little thermometer laying around, ...just lay it in your bin and look for 78° - 82°, thats the range that seems to work best for me.

picture.php

...you're gonna love the simplicity man and when you pot up one of your clones into a coco hempy there is no such thing as 'transplant shock', they just take off!

Peace, SOG

btw, the pic is to illustrate the bins I use and how the lights below work for me, lol, ...i know you already know this shit but I mention it for others who may not.

Thanks again SOG!! You da man!

...you're welcome man and i'm just giving it back as you will in your turn and in your way.

...thats what connects us, ...thats what makes us brothers and sisters.

...and Seedlin, if you're new and still learning the fundamentals then don't feel pressured to upgrade your lights before you're ready.

...and don't believe anyone who tells you you can't grow quality ganja under CFLs.

...if you are on a tight budget you can find a bathroom vanity fixture for under $15.00USD that you can add splitters to to double the bulbs.

...this one cost me less than five bucks at a local discount builders supply house.
picture.php

...heres a shot of a micro seed run where you can see how easy it is to add a ghetto reflector for small money.
picture.php

...and heres a shot of the male AK47 I used for that project.
picture.php

...and a couple bud shots.
picture.php

picture.php

...ALL of these were grown, clone to harvest, under that CFL fixture and I grew a quarter elbow every two weeks in 7gallon DWCs that each had one of those fixtures. (i ran 4 bins and harvested 1 every 2 weeks)

...so don't rush things man, if you wait a bit and do some more research you will make fewer investments in useless equipment.

Peace, SOG

...btw, i'm not saying T5s are useless because that would be bullshit, T5s are great, ...but they aren't the only option and they don't fit every circumstance.

nah seedlin , wasn't sayin they're better than the CFL's just tellin ya they're different as they're thin tube flouro's instead of the round cfl's ... they take up less room than the cfl's which is why alot of people use them . they come in different lengths ,spectrums & wattages . if you have the head room ... cfl's are great , if ya don't ... then T5's would probably be better .

in my clone box i don't have alot of headroom ... maybe a foot so the small t5's work great .

my mom box is the same way ... no headroom so i use 3 mounted to a pvc frame .

Just wanted to say that I am glad I found this thread before getting started again. Hempy Bucket + Lucas formula = crazy easy success. I have never had a grow start out this well. I attribute it to the Hempy buckets really.

One thing I have noticed. The growth is so rapid and lush that all branches are soft. I fear they will not be able to support the buds. I know, tough problem to have but it looks as though I will be needing to support these plants much more than I have had to in the past with my soil grows.

ETA: Ive got two fans on them, blowing the plants around. I hope that helps toughen up the plants before bud production really sets in. Ive only been at 12/12 for about a week now, so Im dealing with rapid stretch. Hopefully the branches will stiffen up with maturity.
Perhaps some silica will help.

Here's an odd problem to have.....maybe some of you have experienced this and now how to make it go away....
Took 24 cuttings last week, placed in rapid rooters and into the dome. One week later and all have rooted, but 5 (3-kalishakra; 2-aurora indica) seem to keep wilting (as if they are thirsty) I put those 5 back into the dome, planted in their mini hempy cups and they look fine. Next morning, take 'em out and in less than an hour, they get wilty again until I put them back into the dome. Why only the five? Why at all? It seems like I will need to harden them off from the dome to the regular room maybe a little each day....I dunno. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Great info dudes. I have a ghetto cfl set (6 - 23 watt bulbs) up with the splitters already. I'll probably do the t5's in my closet that I will use as my clone room / mom room. My 1st batch of seedlings are doing great. On thier 3rd or 4th set of leaves. I put them in 16oz dixie cups and started 1/4 strenght nutes. I'll probably be a few weeks before I put them in my 3 gal hempy's. I have 9 perlite/ vermilite and 9 coco w/perlite in the bottom. Thinking about mixing up a few gals of nutes and "charging" my buckets. They have all drained the water I used to set em up with. Man this site is one of the best things I've run across in years.

Someotherguy I noticed that your clones are a lot bigger than most of the ones I've seen here. Are the ones on the right older? Have they grown alot since the cutting or were they recently cut? Gunna try cloning in a few weeks after I sex these babies...

Dansbuds thanks again dude....:tiphat:

Got my girls moved to their new space. Ive ended up with six now that they have all been sexed. Three Bubblicious, two SWTC99 x Bubblicious and one Vermont Rosebud. The extra few days of veg and the stretch since 12/12 has caused them to overgrow the space I usually use.
Ive upped the lighting to 800 watts and am using both sodium and MH bulbs. . They are a little limp and upset from being moved around but they will bounce back soon enough.
The three Bubblicious are on the left, others on the right. Look at the size of the bottom fans on those bubblicious plants. Huge!
