I'm hoping to start getting the supplies and building my cab here within the next month or so. I got my list of what I need and all my grow supplies. I even got plants going to put in as soon as it's constructed. I'm going to go with a C25. It seems perfect for me.

Here is my supplies list: (any comments are welcome!)

C25 Cabinet
Electric Drill
4" Hole Saw Bit
4" Ducting
Stanley Blower Fan
4" Duct Reducers
4" Duct Adapters
Cut PVC Pipe or Vents
Screws
Weather Strip
Duct Tape
White Caulk
Lock w/key

DIY Carbon Scrubber:

(1) Small Bucket w/ Lid
Pillow Fill or Batten
Activated Carbon
Hardware Cloth 1/4 inch
4" Duct Reducer
4" Duct Cap
Hose Clamps
Panty Hose

well closetfunk - you'd better get going to the depot a they are no longer restocking the c-25 you may have trouble finding one. I highly recommend using darkroom louvers for intakes instead of the pvc style. Why do you want to use the stanley blower? I mean they're not that much cheaper then a dayton (my 265cfm was $70, my 134CFM was $40) and you need to mod them I hear. Anyways good luck and post some pics up when you're done

so now that the thing is built and up and running how do I take out the shelf short of cutting it up? I know I can loosen the cams, but the wooden dowels will still be a problem, right? should I try to stick a saw between there and cut the dowel?

any suggestions appreciated.

thanks,

suga
The easiest thing to do would be to cut the shelf down the middle and bust it out. You can always fashion another shelf if you want one. I have an extra one I never installed. I will be harvesting by the end of the month. Good thing too. I have about 1/4 oz left from my last grow. Just have to s--t--r--e--t--c--h-- it out.

i want to take out the sides and back of my c25 and make it larger. whats the ideal footprint for a 400w? I think i will use a couple of those 150w hps security lights for the lower buds.

We are special. I only know of one other person who grows for personal use like us. Sometimes we forget what mavericks and independent thinkers we are. It is really important to me to interact with like minded people sometimes. Thank you. Any how It looks like Colorado legalized possesion of marijuana. A group called SAFER ...safer alternative for recreation ...was instrumental in having a similar issue pass in Denver last election and were pushing hard for amendment 44. It is also appropriate that Colorado pass this because they were the first state to repeal prohibition of alcohol. Colorado is a very conservative state. Now that really is conservative. Don't tread on me!
It really is a new day. Peace.

Update. Not such a new day. :badday:
All marijuana measures failed in all three states. Time to get drunk and vomit on someone who voted to lock up more people.

Too bad all the measures failed...I was hopeing things would be different this year.

Stinkleaf - are those clones or seed? Look nice healthy and uniform :joint:

Here's my c-25... 5 NL, 1 AK. All clones from 2-36 days flower.

That sucks. I won't be able to get one for another month so hopefull they will have one. If not I'll have to go with something else.

is there anyway to get a perpetual cycle going in one of these cabs? i was thikning of you can put 6 plants in there flowering in 3 different stages it might work? every 3 weeks put 2 in and harvest 2..would this work?

Yes, Heresthedank, it is very easy to do a perpetual grow in one these cabs. Before I doubled up my closets, I use to run 12/12 24 hrs and at times would have up to 12 going. This became tiring because I use to have to move 6 out of every 12 hrs and put in a separate dark area. As for your main question, staggering them as you put them in, will give you harvest every couple weeks.

HeresTheDank - Are you talking about useing one cab for a perpetual, or rotateing clones/seed plants into your cab and then going perpetual?
I'm not sure how you would do it other than the way Xtbudda mentioned if you are planning on using only the one cab for veg and flower. I guess you could keep the shelf in and do clones up top w/ CFL's. You would be forced to grow small plants that way though, that wouldn't leave alot of room after the lights, pots, blah blah...
Using two cabs I do just about what you are talking about. Six plants all with roughly 60 day finishes at 36, 29, 22, 20, 6, and 4 days of flower respectively as of a couple days ago (shown in pic). My plants top out within 2-3" of 2 ft which fills out the cab nicely IMO. I think if I put 8-10 plants in the 12-18" range I would increase my yield by an oz or two every cycle though.

Perpetual harvest means you will perpetually have buds hanging to dry. What is the point? I think it reduces yields and takes away some of the stealth always having stinky buds airing out. With a 400w light you can get close to 1/2 pound every three months. If you can't stretch out a 1/2 pound to last 3 months then you need a bigger cab.
I just did the math and if you pulled 7 ounces and needed it to last 90 days that is 2 grams a day. That doesn't sound like a lot but my wife and I use about half that so for some it is sufficient.

Here's a good little side topic for our grow cabs...
Do these cabs tend to produce more when harvesting all the plants at the same time, or when using a staggered harvest? Or does it really matter?
I stagger my harvest getting 28-35g per plant average. I harvest 6 plants during the course of 60 days. Thats a plant about every 10 days. Leaving me with 2.8-3.5g per day for myself. Unless my only goal for the day is to stay really high all day I smoke half of that maybe...

nomoreschwag their seeds i found a male in there yesterday so i took it out so im down to 5 now i know at least 3 of them are females

and that perpetual harvest idea is intresting i think i might try that cept im going to get a smaller cab to connect to this one for clones/mothers so i can have some grown to size instead of vegging them in the flower chamber and theyll veg in the smaller cab so itll reduce time in between harvests at east a few weeks

nomoreschwag, my example above is using one closet and moving them out, every shift change. I have separate area for vegging.
Now, however, I have 2 cabs joined together and run all of them at the same time, so i dont have to move them, as i did before. I still stagger them, as I find I get more yield this way, because I am able to position plants more to the light that need it.

i was thinking of doing the perpetual thing and only using the cab for flowering. i thought about using a top area for clones etc but if i can just put them somewhere else so i can veg longer and bigger we'll see. The thing is, is that i want to try to harvest once every 3 weeks or a month and ge at least a QP dried. Im just trying to figure out how many descent sized plants could fit in a cab. Im not sure if a QP+ is achievable in the cab with 2 plants being plucked to harvest, but i'll definently keep looking into this and trying to learn more about it. thanks for the help. NOMORESHWAG can u explain you're staggered harvest?

Well, I've been perpetually waiting for this harvest. About two weeks left to go on these mostly Nir ak48. Not going to be my largest harvest but three months ago it was August and there were heat issues which hindered growth.

I use another box for vegging too. The other side of my closet holds my drying line and mother/clone/veg box. My veg box isnt all that big (18x18x24") so I almost have to do a staggered harvest. I can't fit 6 big plants along with any other plants in there at the same time, so I have to grow my veg plants staggered too. It was kind of a pain in the ass to get it to this point, but its very simple now.
In the pic you can see my NL & AK mother. They will be ready to give me fresh cuttings soon to start rooting for the next batch. Also, some new seed plants. I'm hopeing one of those will be worth keeping around for some more varied smoke.

stinkleaf - those are some uniform plants for seed. I wonder if they'll be so similar after the streeeetch...
xt - I do a staggered harvest for the same reasons. It seems easier for me to try and find space for a plant or two a week into flowering next to one a week from harvest, compared to trying to fit 6 or more full sized harvestable plants in the same space. It also seems to me that alot of light is wasted on the floor when the cab only has young plants in it.
HeresTheDank - I'm sure you could pull a QP every 30 days if everything was in check and efficient. I'm pulling a tad more than 3 every 30 days so I'm sure an extra oz could be found (probably alot more...). The idea of the staggered harvest/perpetual is to have clones/seed plants ready to be put into flower the day you harvest. The idea is to keep the flowering chamber full at all times with no down time between harvests.
Sumo - I just harvested some AK-48 a couple weeks ago. Mine yields even less than yours from the looks of the pics. But they do turn a nice shade of purple, with a very strong high. Do you have the earthy, piney, or cherry pheno?

These ak48s smell fruityer than I remember. So far no coloration. I never have much consistency from seed. The most consistent plants I ever grew were the SD13 that Maliboo crossed which was BC NL#5 x G13. They were not the most potent plants but very consistent. I have heard crosses are more consistent than pure breeds. Have not grown any crosses besides the SD13.
