Canna nutes are formulated for Tap water . they assume that your tap will have enough Calcium & Magnesium in it to sustain your plants . if you using RO water or tap thats less than .4 EC ..... you will need to supliment with some Calmag . start off low like 2ml per gallon & go up from there if needed . :tiphat:

My thanks to all who have contributed!!

My thanks to all who have contributed!!

After some long nights and more than a couple of weeks, I have finally caught up with the wealth of knowledge that this thread has to offer. I have grown in coco more than a few times and adore the taste and growth rates the medium offers. This thread answered questions I didn't know I needed to ask and as a result I have a glorious grow to celebrate the community who have asked and answered the thoughts of others. Many kind thanks from myself and my ladies! I have combated many issues in the three months the current grow has taken from hatching, two bulbs have blown, temperature issues have arisen, problems with humidity, deficiencies and poor growth rate have hampered. However, these hallowed pages have pointed me in the right direction and combated all: Even the most experienced can learn here.
Calmag was a god send and something all my previous coco grows would have benefited from, my tap water doesn't have enough and I was unaware. The plants quite literally leapt into life after the addition.
:thank you:

Gold Label Coco - Run Off PPM

Gold Label Coco - Run Off PPM

Hey everyone - we just switched from soil to Gold Label coco. I thought that coco was supposed to be inert, so I was surprised to see that straight coco run off PPM was 200 PPMs higher than plain water that was going into it. Is that normal? I thought Gold Label coco came pre-washed. Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

I did a slur test on my Canna Coco Pro . and it read 60 ppm , tried the same on BioBizz Coco mix , and that read 300 ppm

would seeds planted in rockwool cubes grow good in coco? Hope my question makes sense. So if I plant seeds in rockwool cubs, then put the cubes in pots of coco how well would they grow or not grow?

Hey there, I am new here to website but stumbled across this thread. I have been hand watering plants in coco( royal gold tupur). I have came into some issues of late when I flipped my plants to flower. So I have my plants in 7 gallon smarts pots and water every other day with 2 gallons of water. The run off that is created is caught in pot coaster and I let it wick back into the pot. So the issue that I noticed this week was these strange brown spot on some of my plants other than that my plants look amazing. I also never ran into this problem in veg but I never watered until there was run off. I really should of check this earlier on but I ph'd the run off and it was pretty high, around 7. So I'm thinking it's creating some kind of ph swing. I am not sure how to post pictures without giving a link, I have some saved to my computer but not to url. I will post the url of my riu post I created that has picks. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks.http://www.rollitup.org/t/coco-problems-need-help-asap.918717/

Just flush with a lower ec nutrient mix, looks like a salt build up especially if you never have any run off
Well I do get run off but I have been letting wick back into the pot. I use smart pots and have them on pot coasters. I am thinking there is some kind of ph swing or a salt build up like you described.
