Im about to start, since im done with trimming.
I have so much trim and littles laying around, just don't know if I want to make bubble or contract someone to do bho.

mendo, find a closed loop operator and get it done while it's still fresh. Give them 20+ and they should do it for <$5/gram.

^man CLS operators been stingy lately…5 a gram wasn't working for my main guy. almost everybody has been asking 40/60 but i found a guy willing to do 30-70.

all about speed too, i had some stuff sit about 2-3 weeks and still came out golden. but any longer and its definately gonna come out a bit darker.

trim/popcorn is a straight winner for me this year, really put us over the edge and my buddy who skipped it all, i can tell he's a little butthurt, he just dropped off 10 garbage bags of his shitty fan leaf mixed trim and is hoping i can do something with it now lol. all in all, i paid 12k in extra labor to machine deleaf, and strip popcorn off the remaining plants, and i have well over 100# of just trim/littles that will easily produce 15# of high quality BHO that I'm getting 20/g wholesale all the way up. so the math adds up much better than i expected. even after paying my CLS operator his 30% I'm still up a fuckload.

hash for the win! this is some of the GG4 shatter that he made, stuff is legit! using pure ISO-tane and a custom 20lb CLS system, with a 72 vac purge inside retrofitted 1.9cu ft AI ovens. he added 5 more heat pads into each oven for more even heat purge.

Been making bubble for the last 3 weeks. Unfortunately I only have the 5 gallon set and is taking forever to get through the trim I have. My pile is probably 5% of what you are dealing with. The hash is awesome though and don't have to worry if the tane is all purged out.

Yes prop is that fresh frozen material ? Looks great.

we only did fresh frozen on some ice water experiments, but we didn't notice much difference in quality or yield so we kind of skipped doing any fresh frozen.

the BHO was made with material that was approx 2-3 weeks from pick about 1-2 weeks to dry out then another week in a deep freezer while we waited for the operator to work on it.

the key is making sure the material is brittle and super dry and as fresh as possible. running any semi moist material hurts the yield.

I decide to run dry ice and ice warter with all what left of trimming.

First gonna pull out max with dry ice, then
same material will run into bubble hash.

All looks good there guys, pls couple more pix after making hash.
Hash is also product of large plants same as buds.
Actually hash is product of outdoor masters.

cheers

For everyone using NITROGEN to store their buds I would recommend you take some safety precautions……That shit will kill you before you even realize something’s wrong.

I am currently on page 375 of this thread and have started seeing people mention using this method so I felt obligated to bring up the dangers of Nitrogen so none of us get killed.

Before getting into growing I use to be travel the country inspecting welds/metal at different oil refineries/chemical plants etc, and have worked around nitrogen a lot.

The refineries do something called a “Nitrogen Purge” where they keep a consistent flow of nitrogen in a vessel/tank to either keep OXYGEN out, or to purge the vessel free of dangerous gases etc.

Nitrogen will do the same thing to your lungs. It will PURGE your lungs of oxygen, resulting in unconsciousness in 1-2 breaths with absolutely no warnings, almost immediately followed with death. Just out of nowhere you won’t be able to take a breath because the nitrogen will have filled your lungs leaving no space for incoming oxygen… and you’ll drop out.

USE GAS METERS. They should measure the oxygen levels which will sound an alarm if it leaves the acceptable range of 19.5%-23.5%. What we are worried about is the oxygen dropping beneath 19.5%, as a result of an increase in nitrogen.

Anybody with experience making terraces got a recommendation for what equipment to use?

Looking to terrace 160'by120' making 11 rows of roughly 15' spacing that is currently at a moderately steep grade.

Neighbor has a back hoe, someone else mentioned using a bobcat...

The correct machine is an excavator with a 6 way blade and a skid steer and dump truck for quick removal

I don't think your concerns regarding n2 back flush is valid

Backyard farmer-I'll look into that excavator I appreciate the advice!

N2 backflush: I am unfamiliar with the term backflush. Also can you elaborate why you believe it is not a valid concern?

I've only seen it used once, but I am looking to get one for myself next year. The guy had one of the 5/6K units hooked up to a large tank of Nitrogen that he opened with a wrench. Obviously since I've only seen it once I am no expert, but the situation just didnt feel 100% safe...isn't there a potential leak or malfunction that could occur? What if someone is working in a closed room sealing up hundreds of pounds for a long period of time, is there really no danger at all?

Schrews-Great idea, but then who would dig my 250,000 gallon pond!? :)

Do any of you guys just dig the earth and plant in? Could this be done once in a fertile area and then add amendments the following year?
Does everybody either buy pre mixed / custom soils or add lots of their own amendments to existing soil? What are the pros and cons of either method?
What kind of average yield do most people get from 200 gallon smarties? I know it'll depend whether ya growing cookies or blue dream but for an average, normal yielding plant?

thanks for any help

200gallon smartie should yield 4-6 lbs although depending on the strain and your skills it's possible to get 8+

Most people here buy their dirt. if your native soil is good then by all means use it.
