Neem Cake

Neem Cake

Just a FYI for those that are preparing for spring now. Rare Earth will have Neem Cake in massive quantities. Their first shipment comes in next week. When you call, ask for Jamie. The Coot Mix will be available in probably 2 weeks. She has all the Rock Dust from several areas too if you wish to remineralize your existing soil.

Great job Aero!
How was the botrytis in your area this year?
Any Caterpillers dig into your stems and cause damage?

I had a bumper guerilla harvest this year, but had to harvest a week or 2 early on some strains due to botrytis starting to eat some nugz away, and had to deal with stem boring cats this year as well.

Those stem borers were a pain in the ass but the avid and floramite took care of all them. Then I just kept them extremely healthy and cut out mold whenever it arose. Overall great season!

@ aeroguerilla- I see you do some major defoliation, do you just pull all the leaves at the end or slowly do it throughout the year?

The only reason I defoliated was for drying purposes. I simply couldn't hand trim everything this year it would have all molded so instead we deleafed all the plants cut them at the base and flipped them upside down dry trimming as needed. First year doing dry trim and boy it wasn't fun

So funny that you say easy to manage when you have no experience with that scale. There's literally nothing easy about it, great grow grass man

I'd like to do an elimination style reality TV show called '"Sooooo... you wanna be a POT FARMER?!?!?!"

I'll give 12 crackpots just one 48-ct plot off "large" plants to manage, supply them with ample clones and supplies, but maybe throw a curveball in here and there where I introduce some kind of pest to their spot in a "challenge" or create a random hail storm one afternoon..

It would focus mainly on the assured meltdowns when these asshats melt down mid July when they realize the plants don't shit out $100 bills and just because you went through the trouble of growing it doesn't mean you deserve anything other than what a market will pay.

The winner gets a 40-acre spot on the Eel and a TGA strain named after him.

It kills me when people assume that juggling sometimes 100's to 1000's of plants at a time all in various stages of growth constantly is the same as rotating your 4 plants in 2 x 2 tent 90 degrees daily to "even out" the lumens, man and can be handled or managed like it's a game of pocket pool.

More yield .just makes a bigger "plant" quicker .adjusting the timing and spacing is where you Have to pay attention . easy to mis match and end up with a mess.

I experimented with a row of double and triple plants this year b/c I felt like I was behind and trying to play catch up.

They all got planted from a 12-inch clone on July 21st and I'm glad it wasn't a day sooner b/c they really do have the effect of making that "bigger" plant faster. I made the mistake in two baskets of planting the clones right next to e
ach other and I know for sure growth suffered because of competition, but the ones i planted 3 to a basket in a triangle pattern and spaced by about a foot definitely seemed to grow into each other more gracefully and before long the plants had literally "sensed" each other and taken shape accordingly. I didn't crop or top, but all 3 plants took on a shape of their own in an effort to compliment the others.

I really liked the results and it'll be my go-to move from now on whenever i feel "late".

Funny how after just one crop outdoors, some people think they are the next Jorge Cervantes/Ed Rosental/Tom Hill lol.

If after one season you're spouting off misinformation and thinking you're a master gardener, you *are* the next Jorge Cervantes.

And yet fresh eyes are always good. Anyone might make an observation that helps everyone. Beating them down to the point they fear sharing that observation may not be the most productive strategy.

I want to get my soil tested for next year ,would it be better to do it now or wait till spring time before I amend ? Also is logan labs still the go to or should I use somewhere else? Once again I had no complaints on my weed this year, no bugs, diseases or mold but i'm super curious. Thanks in advance, mendo-local
