Do any of you have bunions? My career as a grunt i think made my large r and l toe joints get really achy and throb throbbington like twice a week now.....eating bayer is ok but does not really stop it, cant take percocets cause i fall in love, and they make me an asshole. Is there a anti inflammatory that can focus on bnion pain for older gjuys who didnt share a blood supply with a device in their younger years?

Are you sure it's a bunion? Sounds like Flexus Rigidus (bone spur).

I think I remember someone saying the root medicine worked on bunions. Pain meds don't often work on fingers and toes. Too far away from the main processor.

When treating bunions, to avoid surgery, doctors often start with conservative treatment methods such as:

1.applying ice packs to relieve inflammation and soreness
using over-the-counter bunion pads to relieve pressure from footwear

2.taping to hold your foot in a normal position for pain and stress relief

3.taking over-the-counter painkillers, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) or an NSAID such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen sodium (Aleve) to help control associated pain

4.using shoe inserts (orthotics) to reduce symptoms by helping to distribute pressure evenly

5.wearing shoes that have plenty of room for your toes

Surgical options include:

1.removing tissue from around your big toe joint area

2.removing bone to straighten your big toe

3.realigning the bone that runs between your big toe and the back part of your foot to fix your big toe joint’s abnormal angle
permanently joining the bones of your big toe joint

There are supposed to be two bones on the ball of your foot. I jumped down onto concrete one time wearing Redwing boots, and now I have 3 bones there. Some problems are best to just live with IMO.

Some of my aches and pains like soft tissue injuries are well treated with CBD. Broken bones don't seem to get much help.

I woke up yesterday morning unable to use my right arm or hand. I could only move my arm below the elbow 60 degrees or so. There was not much pain, just a wall. And I couldn't grip anything. I'm an electrician. I have a very strong grip and I could barely lift my coffee cup.

So I went to the urgent care and had an exam and xrays.

Turns out I have several bone fragments floating around in my elbow that I somehow broke off and never realized, as well as a ton of older stress fractures that never healed right. The largest fragment is over a centimeter round!

I had the same thing happen with my left ankle in 2008. Had a bone fragment removed that had broken off in 2002 when I was helping my boss build his deck and smashed a 12 pound maul into my ankle. I walked it off and never had it looked at.

Few months go by and I go to the doc because my ankle swelled up and hurt like hell. He took xrays and determined it was gout. He prescribed a maintenance medication that I took for 6 goddamned years and still would have problems with my ankle that he claimed was gout. I finally got sick of it and went to a different doc who immediately saw the bone fragment on the xray and said, "Well there's your problem right there!"

I've smashed both of my elbows so many times over the years I gotta wonder how long until the left one starts acting up.

The way I look at, it is that the young are inherently stupid. Don’t get me wrong, they are brilliant at the same time & obviously very energetic. But they desperately need a counterpoint. Someone to tell them that they are fucking idiots when they are being fucking idiots. When you walk around getting creakier very day, it becomes easier & easier to tell someone to fuck off & die.

Happy Birthday Tudo. 65 is a milestone, do you feel like you played the game of life and somehow got away with it?

As for those bone fragments, what did they do about them? I have one in my elbow I swear I could take out with an exacto cut and squirt it out, except for all that pain stuff.

As for youth, this from a post in the quotes thread:

You start out with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Good judgement comes from experience, Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgement.

Not a bad idea to be the guy with the camera and not the guy who said: "Hold my beer and watch this."

F that impending death crap!

F that impending death crap!

I am gonna do my best to go down kicking cause, well cause. Just going to have to learn how to get through some of the pain in areas where they can't fix it (like my thumb) or I won't let them (foot). When they talk pain meds or anti-inflammatory drugs I just smile and say no thanks.
