My feet are on fire this morning, been working, we have had some nice weather. It’s been great being able to go out and get some things done. Paying for it today with my feet on fire...

Shoes are everything. I had horrible pain walking. Brooks Adenaline shoes and I was back to walking 5 miles without pain. I couldn't walk a quarter mile in my Sketchers. Both are good shoes. One is for me and one is not.

I was looking for something a little more comfortable for wearing around the house. Did a little research and ended up just ordering a pair of Orthofeet Tuscany Slippers. 70 bux for slippers??? But, sometimes quality costs and there's no price to pay for comfort...

I lay head to toe with vicky to trade foot rubs all the time and my dextrous monkey feet cant help but smoosh and knead.

Got jealous watching the cats get away with it.

I am crazy particular about my feet, though. My hands and feet leak acidic soot, day in and out. If I wear anything other than my redwings or my minnetonkas my feet just burn through them and stink to high hell.

I don't even like touching other people possessions without drying my hands out first with rubbing alcohol. And until I started wearing redwings and minnetonks.. you could just straight up forget about asking me to take my shoes off for any reason, whatsoever.

That guy..

minnetonka moccasins are like boobies on your feet.

so are redwing high tops. just like treading on tits.

mmm..

I am wearing a pair of Redwing hightop boots right now and they are anything but comfy.

These are... but whoa! The ones I had Mike Dennis gave me for free

You’re right, I’m sorry.

Most people seem to wear the dressier flat bottom high tops. They have nowhere near as much padding as the medium top work boots.

I realized my error after i had posted and didn’t care enough to correct myself. Whoops.

These are the medium height work boots, even got the steel toe. I broke a bone jumping down 4 feet onto concrete wearing these. But they are good for protection and not twisting ankles when working.

Wife wore the mocs for similar reasons plus they used to be comfortable. Now ALL of them are imported, they fall apart, have sizing issues, are not so comfortable and so we don't buy them anymore.

howdy, fellow elders...
as if health concerns were not already front & center lately, i got more reasons in the mail today to hate our "health care" here in the states. my employer recently went to HSA (health savings account) debit cards instead of normal insurance with co-pays etc. basically, you start the year out with a couple of grand on the card. doesn't SOUND bad, right? until...you get bills for nearly a grand every 3 months just for diagnostic tests your doctor insists on, even if there are no current problems. if you say "no tests, i can't afford it" then you are "not cooperating with the medical professionals" & will likely be dropped as a patient. your meds etc are ALL supposed to be paid with the card. it can't be done, unless you are very young & healthy...have blood sugar problems? need a colonoscopy? say hello to medically induced bankruptcy, boys...:moon:

That sounds pretty F'ed up. I was surprised at the guys who looked in their late 30's, early 40's who were at the hosp to get azz borescope jobs. Who paid??

How long until you get on medicare?

I asked because I am now on medicare, but I am really on the supplement (BC/BS). I got the one that was free. I do not even have a primary care MD, and just get with specialists for work/inspection that I need done. The BC/BS supplement sent me a card which had cash rewards to get inspections, like a borescoping. I get $15 - better than plasma!

If you have a blood-sucking general MD, that is the first thing I would change if I could. Those general MDs are not the gateway to good health. Gateway to prescription hell, more like it.
