Day 60...Getting Very Close

Day 60...Getting Very Close

mmmmm.....so close. I'd have to say 2-3 more days on T-B and 3-5 more on T-A.

I finally caught a nice whiff when opening my room today. I'd hafta say it was like a pumpkin coffee with a twist of skunk.

I cut a sample bud of each yesterday. Never done that before. So..those lil buds are hanging right now and should be quick dried for consumption for harvest (nothing like smoking a joint of the plant you are harvesting while harvesting). I just want to try it so bad...and I NEED to taste what it tastes like. I think taste is my next favourite thing about bud next to the buzz :joint:

Enough talkin

Tangerine-A

^ She's starting to bulk up a bit, and she's just as bit as frosty as T-B she just lacks in the yield department in comparison. End of the line for this pheno. It does look like an X-mas tree though doesn't it. I'm sure these pics will come in handy for photoshopping ornanments in December.

Tangerine-B

^ Fat Cola...sticky, frosty buds...good yield...what more can I say. She's a keeper for now.

I'm just gonna wait for the Hempstar re-veg and clone shots for 3 to 5 days when they are in the flower room under the MH conv.
Harvest shots will be next...and a first taste/buzz pre-smoke report report.

Enjoy!

Day 62 Tangerines....Here's The Rest

Day 62 Tangerines....Here's The Rest

Well...Thank You Pontiac.

Just thought I'd brighten up the thread a bit and advance things since the tangerines may get a few extra days.

First off - Here is Tangerine-B clone:

^ I told you I cut it too small. Heh, it took about three weeks just to root. Was my first success with a clone. Although it doesn't look it...it was taken from the plant more than 7 weeks ago now. It just started shooting up like mad in the last week after a transplant.

Here's the before and after shots of Hempstar Re-veg:

^^ It took 8 weeks, but it's coming back to life great. Gonna be one helluva bush! I'm gonna place it and Tange-B clone under the MH conv. bulb for a week to let them dig their roots into that nice organic soil mix I'm brewing them up.

Grape Bagseed Seedling:

^^^ Don't actually know what really inspired me to germinate this seed. I've really wanted to see how I can get a bagseed to turn out. The genetics are a great Grape floavoured/smelling strain. It's got a nice lean happy daytime buzz that never wears you out. It's great for really hot summer days when you are already hazed over enough. We'll see what happens.

Hope you guys enjoy :joint:

I can't believe this thread has been going for so long, and I've missed it all.
I looked in to see the DPS and noticed how long the thread was, so I skipped to the end to find it was all over and another one had started and was also nearly over.
Those tangerines look really nice, never heard of willy jack though. I take it they are some sort of orange bud cross from the name, (and colour in your sig line). I would read through to find out, but it'd take so long, you'd be ready to harvest your next batch by the time I found the answer.

Man tml - those tangerines are looking scrumptious! :yummy: Real nice colors too! Can't wait to hear how they taste...

That Hempstar reveg is fab, really nice. I'm still waiting for my cindy to reveg - she's been under 18 hours MH since early April, and just starting to see little extensions to the buds now.

Fab grow you got goin on tml,  to you!!!

Gotta love this place...you guys rule. I never realized how many people were out there that had the same love for bud as me.

GMT - Welcome to my thread, pull up a bean bag chair and relax. Hit the hooka, eat some cannabutter brownies and listen to the Umma Gumma. :lurk:
To catch u up, I've got a 250W HPS and I'm growing Willy Jack's Tangerine (Chronic X Cali-O). Willy Jack is a Canadian seed company out of the Toronto area. I'm still a freshman entering my junior grows. Tangerine harvest will be within days, next grow will be back to the re-vegged DP Hempstar and the Tangerine clone.

packn2puff - I'd love to smack'em yak'em...but today is just not the day. I cut a couple sample buds on day 59 I've been drying out. Dying to try them, but I want to wait till I'm harvesting to smoke them. Good idea on the back of the TV/Monitor. Havn't harvested yet because I still have room with the trichs, and all the new white hair means new fat growth to me. We'll see what happens in the next few days.

MGJ - Don't it take forever to re-veg? Hempstar has been going since late March, and still not ready yet. It's been under 65W of mixed spectrum CFL. That thing got sooo damn bushy I can't tell where half the branches start. It was pretty amazing to watch new growth shoot out of old buds. Not something I wanna be doin for every grow.

Thanks for stopping in, and thank you for your compliments and encouragement

Harvest pics are up next: :sasmokin:

Day 65...Using wise judgement

Day 65...Using wise judgement

Trying to use wise judgement for maximum potentcy and maximum yield.

Tangerine-A is filling in nicely and doing better than I expected to end up being, not that I've ever been that dissapointed in her...I'm sure she'll be decent to me.

Tangerine-B is a monster and I can't wait to grow it's clone twice as big. This is definately the biggest cola I ever grew and I won't be surprised if it tops 35-40 grams itself once dry. I am so eager to harvest it, yet I know by waiting a few extra days that I'm doing the right thing.

Sorry for the wait guys...It's teaching me the art of patience...should be within next 2 days or so...at least T-B.

Test Bud...Day 67

Test Bud...Day 67

Well...after 6 days hanging and drying I took a taste test of each of the plants. I cut the samples on day 59 and smoked them on day 65.

Both buds had little taste to them (besides that fresh taste...you know) looks like I'm going to have to spend some good cure time before I get the true taste.
Tangerine-A was definately not ripe yet...the bud was a little loose and airy, mostly a quick head stone and the ride was over. Reminded me of that hooker in Vegas. :wallbash:
Tangerine-B was much more dense and closer to readiness. The buzz was solid and came on strong and quick..but never overpowering. Should make a great all purpose weed...light enough for the daytime, yet strong enough for the night time.

The smell came out good once dried and chopped up to roll. It was a nice mellow sweet-skunk with a slight earthy tone. I'm sure I won't know it's true scent or taste till a good cure...then it will definately be suitable for connoisseur lungs.

I'll progress with smoke reports after dry/curing stages.

Harvest - Still another day or 2 at least. Looks like a long wait type strain, but it was so worth it to watch T-A to bounce back so solidly. T-B I let go along for the ride though it could be harvested anytime now.

Isn't this suspense exciting? :lurk:

Can tell you are developing a good harvest eye... Sometimes you have to go by looks rather than time. My first grow I was expecting a 42 day flower, it turned into 65-80 days!!! If I had pulled them "on time" I would've been crying in my kif :biglaugh:

I'll be interested in seeing how much longer A takes.

The plants always surprise me. The last one I pulled I gave 48 hours darkness before chop, usually I don't bother if I can keep the cab temps down in the low 70's. Some strains like it more than others. This time there was an obvious difference in bud size after an extra 2 days in the cool dark under the stairs ( for the movie trivia buffs, no I don't look like Everett McGill:biglaugh: :sasmokin: )

Nice initial smoke report - think you 'll be very happy.

This has been a fun grow to follow, looking forward to more!!!

Sorry to everyone waiting to see the harvest pics, but I keep getting put off a few days. I know I made an early call saying they'd be ready...but they are just not.

Today is day 70 and I never figured this strain would take so long. I wanted to take some day 70 pics today...but my camera batteries went dead.

MGJ - I guess I am developing an eye, or at least getting pickier about when to harvest. Chronic is a 56-63 day strain and if you count it from first sign of sex, I'd be at day 59-60 right now. So...it's not that surprising. Although T-B could be harvested now...there is still minimal amber trichs and still is packing on weight.

I know things have been slow pics wise, I'll try and keep it more interesting.

It's coming soon

Tangerine-B Harvest...Day 71

Tangerine-B Harvest...Day 71

Well the day has finally come and I'm here to share my joy with you all. :woohoo:

After checking her before she went to bed yesterday...I knew today would be the day.
I couldn't wait till the lights came on today, I turned all the lights in the house out and quietly snuck into the growroom. In the dark I grabbed up T-B and snuck her through some dark rooms. Then I threw the lights on her and it was like the papparazzis were hittin her with flashes from everywhere:

I was real proud of myself with some of the camera work here. I know nothing about photography.

After the photo shoot, she got chopped at the knees, seperated and then shaved. The trim job took about 10 minutes and was very light work. Sticky work...but light work.
Heres the smokables:

^Harvest

^^She wasn't the biggest plant in the world and I should have really vegged for longer to achieve maximum yield of this strain...but look at the thickness of that cola!

I've seen alot bigger cola in pics here on IC and back on OG, but Tangerine-B is my pride so far. Of course I hope to (and will) out do it my very next grow with it's clone, but this is my best yielding plant yet. That cola is so dense and heavy!...and if you can't tell...I'm excited

Tangerine-A will up on the chopping block next...See ya in a few days

Right on..nice haul from little ol Tang B...nice and dense :yummy:
Now why do I think you've made a crown of buds..and are doing the happy harvest dance in the moonlight..

Chronicles of a kill: "After the photo shoot, she got chopped at the knees, seperated and then shaved.
The trim job took about 10 minutes and was very light work. Sticky work...but light work."

:pimp3: When questioned why TML did it..he said "it was necessary"..chilling words folks,
shaking the whole Tangerine community into a frenzy as TML stated the killings would not stop yet..
Tangerine A was not available for comment..but worries the same that happened to Tangerine B awaits her now..
More as this TML (aka The Limb Slasher) saga continues..

Hey TML - nice haul you brought in there, eh?!!! She got really chunky indeed! Nice time around, watch out, she's gonna be a giant amazon, I can see it now!

How the smell fresh cut?

Hmmm - can't wait to see Tangerine-A come in... :woohoo:

Congratulations - your hard work paid off nicely!

The Smell Of Success

The Smell Of Success

Well I finally got to smell the smell...wholly skuuuunky!
Left them to dry and they released their stank. Funny because the plant barely stunk while growing.

packn2puff - Looks like a decent haul for my 250W indeed. I'm still dancin.
You can quote me on this "It was necessary, and I'd do it again!" (cuz then I'd have twice as much weed). And I will do it again in another day or 2. Muahahaha! :sasmokin:

MISSINGSON - Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you're impressed with the Chronic you grew, you deserve it. From what I found watching other grows both my plants favoured the Chronic side of it's genetics, she wasn't too finicky and never complained about too many nutes. It was a fairly easy grow, though it will be nice to have a longer veg period. Stretch was minimal.

MGJ - I had at least another 20-30cm(1/2-1') of vertical space I'd feel completely comfortable with. Gonna reach for that perfect height this time around. Tangerine-B clone and Hempstar re-veg are gonna make an excellent team in the flower room.

well..T-A harvest is coming within the next couple of days. Hope you all stick around to see...

Day 76....Tangerine-A Harvest

Day 76....Tangerine-A Harvest

Well the day has finally come. It seems she could have gone a few more days, she's still growing new white hairs. Both plants kept growing new white hairs, but over 75-80% are shriveled red and the trichrome mix looks the way I like it. I don't like too many amber trichs. The buds on Tange-A are dense enough now, they made a great turn around...though they are still a little airy for my liking. However this has allowed for a tremendous trich covering. This plant is a snowy demon! check it:

^^ Cola comeback...finally put on a lil chunk at the top

^^^ although not as dense as Tange-B I think this plant put on the frost show

Trimming was an icky sticky job..but I got more from this plant than I thought I would. Here's what the harvest looked like:

^^^^ How the hell am I sposed to fit that in there? :dueling:

sttb - Thanks for stoppin in man, not only is it good looking, but it tastes and smells good too! :yoinks:

pontiac - Thanks Pontiac. Just trying to make best of the 250W situation. Short dense plants seems to be the best way to go...This strain seems to suit my growing needs.

I just couldn't wait to get the Tange-B clone under the MH conversion. It was a rainy day today, so I kept busy.
- Harvested Tange-A
- Drilled holes in buckets
- Vacuumed, swept, and sanitized growroom, then aired it all out
- Mixed new soil
- Transplanted all plants

Now they're all safe and sound under the MH conversion bulb in their new homes. They will get at least 1 week of veg time. I'm just interested in getting a good root setting before starting 12/12. They have been downgraded from 18 hours of light to 16 hours for their last week of veg.

This may put me behind schedule by a week or so, but the yield will be worth it. These plants are both mature also, so flowering won't take as long to commence either. I really want that week of rooting though, it seems important to me. Plus if Grape seedling is a lady, it will join the mix half way through so I can start my staggered 3rd lay in.

Hope you enjoyed the update...Veg pics under the MH comin this week

very nice haul - lovely cola - I've taken a liking to the structure of sativa leaning colas. Yes they're airy, but as you say they can pack on the trichs and resistant to mold issues - IMO very important this time of year.
