Yeah it's pretty clear. That's why electric vehicle sales continue to climb, more manufacturers are producing them and new charging stations are going up across the country.

Private sector innovations and consumer demand will eliminate fossil fuels not higher taxes and lawsuits.

The first correct statement in a while.

Surgical masks are becoming scarce already.
Oh right, they come from China like everything else.

I think you're right. Maybe they help but are not bulletproof. There were vids of people in China getting busted for not wearing one.

3M makes dust masks with interchangeable filters that can go from dust up to hazmat. That would really be the way to go.

I thought surgical masks were useless and that a certain type was needed?
A conservative approach used to be that it made sense to keep some production here,
putting security above profit.
Never ceases to amaze me when I see people casually refer to conflict with China.

There are a couple small companies in the US still making surgical masks. They're running round the clock now.

The clips I saw didn't look like they could do trailer loads on short notice. They must have limited inventory filter paper, down the line, etc.

N95 masks are recommended and can be purchased at home depot if they haven't run out. I saw a few news reports of Asian Americans buying whatever they could get their hands on.

Checking Amazon you either get "out of stock" or price gouging so I wouldn't hold out hope you'll find any.

I have noticed friends that deal with risk management in their professions are taking this very seriously.

The biggest issue is potential supply chain interruptions. Not a bad idea to do a little prepping for that possibility.

If it goes full blown in America you'll quickly learn why medicare for all is an unrealistic pipe dream until we increase capacity.

If you look at the total amount of money we spend on medical right now and you see what we get. We're getting ripped off. All the countries with national healthcare get way better bang for the buck. We are spending the money and we are not getting what they are. Just part of it, compare your prescription cost to your price in Canada. People are taking group busses up there to buy drugs.

What we are really talking about with M4A is just what trump promised, getting a better deal and helping everyone. He was lying. It's unbelievable that people insist on the system where we get ripped and they repeat the bullshit story "Oh no, that's socialism. That's bad." It's like the Sakler family and Perdue Pharma telling you opioids are good. We just need to change the way the same money gets from our pockets to the doctors and drug stores.

The way people talk, it's like our hospitals are all of a sudden going to be inundated and it's going to be a free for all in the 7-11 and that costs gazillions of dollars. No, it's just the same. Instead of getting jacked around by the medical mafia we're going to take care of our less fortunate. Simple concept right?

I guess it's that simple if you don't bother to look in to the causes.....

Be careful what you wish for..

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), 100,000 Americans die from reactions to prescription drugs each year, making this the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S.

Medical Errors Are No. 3 Cause Of U.S Deaths, Researchers Say

A big driver of the higher U.S. health insurance bill is the practice of defensive medicine. Doctors are afraid they will get sued, so they order multiple tests even when they are certain they know what the diagnosis is. A 2010 Gallup survey estimated that $650 billion annually could be attributed to defensive medicine. Everyone pays the bill on this with higher insurance premiums, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs, as well as taxes that go toward paying for governmental healthcare programs.

U.S. medical practitioners also tend to use a more expensive mix of treatments.

Wages and staffing also drive up costs in healthcare. Specialists are commanding high reimbursements, and the over utilization of specialists through the current process of referral decision making drives health costs even higher.

Up to 30 percent of the care provided in this country is unnecessary, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

I know you'll use this as fodder against Trumpcare and as the "perfect" example of why we need medicare for all. But I'll post it anyway because I believe it can also be used as an example of why we need to greatly expand capacity and the number of doctors. Consider if this virus takes hold in the US and thousands maybe millions of people feel they have a legit reason to be tested for the virus. Then do a little research in to how many CT scans can be done in a day.

A Miami man who flew to China worried he might have coronavirus. He may owe thousands.

They bilk the insurance companies, then the insurance companies bilk us. Nothing wrong with that system. Don’t change a thing.
