After watching this grow I would get the single head foggers that come with the AMS kit. They are less costly. 'CHEAPER' connotes lesser quality, and you don't want that. Since you only need one single fogger per tote up to maybe 50G, the cost is inconsequential.

Can you purchase those foggers individually? Again, same resource for purchase (reptile...) or different? Yes, 'less costly' is the appropriate connotation, thank you. That's why I trust your advice, b/c your often sharp as hell. I can appreciate that...

Everything in the kit is available separately. Noodle around their site, it's cool to see how sophisticated caring for reptiles is

Pirate's not around but maybe you can help.

I want to flip 1 of these tubs on top of the other and make an aero chamber; the plastic is pretty rugged but black & may pick up heat.

The plastic edges are not a perfect seal and I don't want the aero spray coming out.

Would a rubber gasket around the outside edge be best or caulking strip?

Thanks for any ideas.

I know the Pirate said like 1/2 round caulk something or other but not sure exact what that was.

tub on tub makes a good aero chamber & drill your own holes on top.

Bottom one is the reservoir and put a drain valve in that for change out.

You'll have to un-bolt the top from bottom for real clean-out or reach in through the top holes to clean.

I'm keeping the pump outside the reservoir to reduce heat in the aero chamber and pumping up to the sprayer in the top of the chamber.

Yes, I'm putting the sprayers right in the top next to the net pots
and I can adjust the angle of the spray by turning the plastic pipe for perfect spraying;

It's just containing that spray is the little tidbit to fix.

I'll post a pic when it's built.

EDIT: So for the price of the extra super tub & caulk;
you replace the pirate special drilled cover and have a larger aero chamber with DWC in the bottom reservoir. win-win

I've used trays as shallow as 8 inches.

You don't need to use legs........Raise the sprinklers up with a riser like the photo below. Now.......... this one had a separate rez but you can make the risers taller and keep it as a reservoir.

OGDay- not sure who you are asking, but my experience is that the roots grow too long. As soon as the roots begin to collect on the bottom you no longer have a true TAG system.

You probably only need one mist head in that volume. Too much mist not only soaks the roots, it over fertilizes them, which prevents them from being all they can be.

Thanks for the tip.

sorry I'm not going full aero (I should edit that) but
just a regular spray and the roots grow into the rez for DWC.

found this on ebay:

SEABOARD MARINE GRADE POLYETHYLENE SHEET 1/4"

Material: HDPE

Seaboard is the best alternative to wood to be developed for the marine industry and other outdoor environments. Seaboard is a high density polyethlene formulated to withstand the effects of salt water, mouster and direct sunlight. Sharp angles and smooth curves are easily achived with standard woodworking tools. It may be routed, drilled, sawed and stapled.

This is a fantastic thread! Thank you for the info and I am in the process of building one of these tables using a 2x4 Botanicare tray (and converting my 18gal DWC into the res EZ). Looking forward to seeing the results.

I found a place near me that has 1/4" HDPE (High-density polyethylene) sheeting for cheap, but they only have 3/16" ABS. The guy at the store didn't think there'd be anything wrong with the HDPE lid, and reading about the material specs for light and water I can't find anything wrong with it either. Is there any reason why I should not use HDPE for the lid of my Botanicare tray?

Thanks much!

But how much weight can it bare, especially in the middle?

Anybody make a closet out of it? Seems both inexpensive and easy to build.

Hey Pirate,

I'm very new at this and know that Aeroponics isn't the most forgiving method, but after seeing my buddies plants grow at unbelievable rates i couldn't resist. Just bought (i know i know), 2 4X8 32 site Botanicare 8 tray aero tables. they were $1600 a piece. Do these use the High Pressure pumps? Also, I just bought a truncheon meter and it gives me 3 different scales to go by EC, PPM (EC X 500) and PPM (EC X 700). Which one of these scales should I go by? I just bought the 3 part cutting edge solutions. Supposedly the head chemist from GH started his own company and it's supposed to be pretty much the same for cheap money. Also, what do you think about gradually stripping fan leaves to expose lower branches? I will be using 5X10 tents that fit those tables perfectly. I have 3 options, 1000 on a light mover, 2 stationary 1000s, or 3 600s. If I could get away with the 1000 on a light mover, thats definately the way I'd rather go. What do you think?

Thanks

Hey big when you got those tents, was it just the tent or did you get the whoole setup, ie: with a carbon filter, light, fans ect. Arent those tents only like 72 inches tall? You might want to go with the 3 600s so your plants dont get burned. Ive been thinking of using the tents, it would def be easier to keep multiple tables on diff cycle in the same room but the height resriction is what keeping me from trying them. If you dont mind though letting us know what you decide to go with and how it works out

They are a little bit taller than 72, im 6'2 and i have a few inches over my head, these are the secret jardin tents with the silver inside, don't get the white! I bought a can fan and filter for each tent. I plan on putting them straight into 12/12 from the cloning machine and trellising the shit out of them. I've actually decided to do 1 1k on a light mover in each tent, got those magnum xxxl reflectors and they are MASSIVE! I need to get a new camera so I can take some pictures, it's gonna be sweet! Keep you posted

more production with this?

more production with this?

I wonder if this method produces more.

Would not the same tray in DWC with a nice pump & venturi for oxygen & circulation, achieve very similar results without all the sprinkler action?

2 4X8 32 site Botanicare 8 tray aero tables. they were $1600 a piece. Do these use the High Pressure pumps?

With a 4x8 try a 1200gph pump, aim for 20-30 gph per sprayer.

As a size reference: my 2x4 table, 8 feet of piping, and 30 sprayers a 600gph pump works well for me. I tried smaller pumps and they worked awhile but always clogged or had flow problems toward the end of flower.

Hope it helps.
