I'm sitting here alone in darkness
waiting to be free,
Lonely and forlorn I'm crying
I long for my time to come
death means just life
Please let me die in solitude

:wallbash::joint: Fuck Yes Candlemass ..Wow

My fave's in no particular order at the moment: (stemming from stoner doom, sludge, death metal. genre's are senseless these days)

Dead Meadow
Witchcraft
Sleep
Boris
Melvins
Om
Danava
Candlemass
Pink mountaintops
Orange Goblin
King Crimson
Electric Wizard
Zebulon Pike
Clouds
Kyuss
Shrinebuilder
Los Natas
Camel of Doom
Pentagram
YOB
Goatsnake
Green milk from the planet orange

... The list goes on. This genre/genres rule and for me represent all that is essential in music. A rebirth of what music is and can be. A return to the origins of music. Reminds me of the bebop age. The popular culture will not accept it but the underground culture is growing and is only more accessible to anyone daily.

It's great to see there is a following here. I'll be checking up on here frequently. Our band has been playing with this and it is definitely the most natural for me to play with. I've played from punk to reggae. My band and I can entrance ourselves for hours when we're on. Takes me back to seeing Ravi Shankar and the intense visuals I experienced while under his trance. There is a natural rhythm and many progressions of harmony that we will always create though they have infinitely existed. Here is where we will find them.

Check 'em MsJones. I think you'll like many of those if those are the ones you know.
A few more I dig;

Church of misery
El Giuda
Acid King
Earth
Sunn O))) (Can't believe I forgot in the first post, one of my all time faves)
Sword
Bottom (sick all woman band, [don't mean to be sexist, but I love to see women playing music. I am male. Women have different ears, a different natural octave, and their own unique sound unmatched by any all male bands])
Blood ritual
totimoshi
Black mountain
spiritual beggars
BONGZILLA (HELL ASS! CHECK THESE GUYS OUT)
Alabama Thunderpussy
Burzum

Keep it green,

Yeti

I agree AB. If the right place in time arrives. There is an immense amount of amazing music being produced out there daily. Have you heard about the new dead meadow film coming out "3 kings" Looks awesome, but there isn't a whole lot of information out there yet. Bongzilla is basicly my theme music when I'm pumped up and out. Sleep when I'm out of my mind and Om when I'm recovering. With many others in between.

Heard the new shrinebuilder album yet? Hehe.

What do you think of Rob doing vox for Candlemass now. Has he left SA totally or is he pulling double duty?

I like Rob in candlemass. But prefer him in SA. And as far as i know he is pulling TRIPPLE duty.

Absolute killer band

They play Roadburn 2010

BTW, who's coming to Roadburn next year? Some bands that are playing:

Eyehategod, Outlaw Order, Goatsnake, Enslaved, Yob (playing TWICE, two different sets), Triptykon, Sarke (feat Nocturno Culto), Pagan Altar, Bohren & der Club of Gore, Thorr's Hammer, Church of Misery, Karma To Burn, MOSS....

I only wish they book Black Pyramid, Ramesses and maybe Electric Wizard... and that Triptykon plays some Hellhammer too. that would be the perfect line up.

I got to see Dimmu Borgir warm-up for Danzig last year at his annual "Blackest of the black" concert, and man did they tear it up.

I love me some metal. Some of my favorite bands are slayer, lamb of god, pantera, danzig, melvins, superjoint ritual, sepultua, and many others that I can't think of right now because I just smoked a fattie. I'm really into the hillbilly metal too. Hank Williams III kicks major ass.

Patch

Excellent post, as Hank the III played a show, and Danzig sang some of the songs. Got to see that show, as I was out in LA at the time. Also huge Misfits, Samhain, Slayer, Megadeth fan.

Wow....I've been away from the scene for too many years. Many bands I've never heard of.

Got a huge collection of 70's & 80's metal/spacerock/punkadelic from my youth

Motorhead
Megadeth
Hawkwind (Space Ritual - best album ever, seriously)
Rock Goddess
Inner City Unit
Subhumans
Black Sabbath
King Crimson
Scorpions
Miranda Sex Garden
Cardiacs (love these guys so much)
