Hey, the Witch is back.
First all ,I missed everybody when I was gone, just takeing a well needed break from the non stop changing world of ICmag. I came back because i missed all the good people I used to sit at this computer and chat with ,till my eyes started buggin' out. Dimebag, I'll send ya some PM's when I finally grow up to be a big boy and have my required 50 posts under my belt, we'll def.shoot some serious shit.I'm encouraging everybody who loves the heavy stuff stop in talk some shop with us, heck even if you're not, stop in anyway.

Anyway with that said...Check out the newest Orange Goblin"Healing through fire" If you're remotly into heavy music I promise you won't be sorry, great production and their best effort to date.Songs are so damn catchy I'm finding myself humming the tunes to myself all day at work. Will stick in your brain like a giant fish hook.

Also check out the new Ramesses"Misinthropic Breed". Ramesses probably isn't for everybody, but I love em. Kinda a freeform, psychedelic, heavy, doomy Jam. This new one is really good, probably their best effort to date also.

Anyway it's gettin late and i gotta hit it,so peace to everyone Talk to ya all soon. Keep it Green.Witch

Awesome. I haven't listened to Orange Goblin in a few years actually. You inspired me to take out my old cd book and crack it open for a few listens. So far I have pulled out Electric Wizard, Paradise Lost, Trouble and Solitude Aeturnus. Think I'll move on over to the D's and go for Death, Deicide and Demons and Wizards...

Thanks for the heads up man. I've kinda got out of my metal groove a bit lately. I should have my ass kicked!

Dinosaur Jr. wow. Even though J. Mascis has turned completely silver haired he still shreds guitars like ever and still enjoys the herb. New album out as well.

Righteous! I nabbed a few tracks from a friend on irc and will be ordering the cd soon.

The last time I saw Electric Wizard was in OK City in the back of Music Dimensions. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, huge as could be and had traveled up from Dtown with a friend. Electric Wizard, Warhorse and ...and....hahah Oversoul? oh crap someone heavy played... lol Whoever it was Mr Cornelius was playing so that was fun to see him play finally. I as put on doobie duty and the owner of the joint, Jim, handed me an LP and couple zips of some brick and a couple packs of papers and I spent a good hour or so before the show rolling up doobs that got passed around the whole place. It was the best show I have ever ever ever been to, ever. It was a freakin party! We slept on the couch at this dude's house..one of the guys in ..hadda be Oversoul that played yeah..My friend bitched about it but I was stoked to be there. Couch surfing for \m/etal shows rox my sox!

Ahhhh...good times!!

hahahaha oh yeah the whole reason I went to that show or was going in the first place is I had booked a band to play and it was even put on the badass posters that had been made and all then they backed out because they thought there wouldnt be enough people there. Whatta crock!! There were like 350 people and it was the shit! Their loss. Maybe that band would have got some good coverage and still be playing if they had just listened to me like everyone else already knows they should! :headbange Anyhow yeah so I wanted to go see the show and still make good on my promise to Jim to simply SHOW UP. It was great. My idol John Perez was there and I got hugs so I'm set for life!

sweet Ms.jones,
I saw Electric Wizard in Detroit about 5-6 years ago, right after Dopethrone was realesed, come to think of it it may have been even longer than that now, but, what a rockin' show. You sound like a very cool chick, I took my then future wife to that show with me but I don't think she cared for them really, Heavy music is not really her thing, but i made sure I still had a good time. I hope I'm making good album recommendations, I really dig that new O.G. and being that I've listened to heavy music for almost 20 years now it takes alot for me to be impressed.Good talking with ya and welcome to the crew.

hey hey! its good to see this thread alive again, great having you back witchking. Iv been doing some vocal work lately now that i have learned to release and manipulate the sound better. i must say i was wasted last night for a buddy's birthday with metal blasting and i was going off. half the people that showed up thought i was crazy so i guess its gettin there haha, o except one girl who thought i was damn sexy and got down ;) but thats another story. Ill be on here with some new music for you guys to check out. i was listening to some arch enemy i think it was with a buddy, they had some pretty decent songs from what i heard.

Ill catch you all soon and have a happy 4th.

Hey dime, What's happening?
Sounds like the vokills are starting to shred. Thats cool, I've always been into singing, not that I can do it or anything.lol I notice the one thing all my top bands have in common is a great lead vocalist.Good music without good vocals just lacks something.

Yeah ,I'm glad to be back.I guess I just couldn't stay away for too long, I missed everybody.

Actually our jeep was found. It was located in a city about 40 miles south of us.The suprising thing about the whole deal was, other than a few things being stolen out of it, the theives left it in pretty good condition,We were both shocked. It belongs to the insurance company now, as we have been payed off a while ago and have already purchased a new Saturn ION3. It's a nice car and I got a real good deal on it ,but we still miss our jeep!

Anyway I'll try to get some new album reviews up this week and we'll chat.

Hey everyone hope ya had a good 4th.
I didn't do anything, everybody only had one day off this year so the misses and I hung out around the homestead, cleaning and doing chores. Had some good BBQ for dinner and then let off some fireworks after it got dark. Smoked a bunch of SSH all day and damn,I woke up still high off that shit this morning.lol I'm slowly learning that too many doobs of that stuff will comatize ya.

I'm listening to that new Ramesses "Misinthropic Alchemy", I have to tell ya, this album sounds great when you're high, quickly becoming a fave of mine.

High on fire is putting the finishing touches on there newest album"Death is this communion" set for a Sept'2007 realese.I can't wait to hear it, HOF is one of my favorite bands ever. I actually met the drummer before a show one time ,sat there and shot the shit with him for awhile, Dez is his name ,real nice guy, and one hell of a drummer.

Anyway I'm heading over to the buddy of mines house who i get all my music from so hopefully I'll have some more audio gems to share with you soon. Peace and see ya for now.

the 4th was great, bbq'd and watched fireworks and smoked some dank. Bummer to hear about you kickin it around the house and doing chores but im sure they needed to be done. i drove quite a few hours to visit a buddy and go out on the lake, i havnt "tried" to wake board in years and the times i did it wasnt going so well. This time was awsome and i got up on the board almost everytime. not too shabby for a half drunk half stoned fool :p i am feeling the pain today though, my neck and back are not loving me today.

Keep up the faith buddy, and ill talk to you soon.

Yarr, some must check out bands for any metalhead who I didn't see mentioned here:

3 inches of blood - Canadian power metal at its finest, i believe they are on ozzfest this year. their live shows are amazingly intense, although I am biased as I got dragged on stage to sing the verses to Deadly sinners and Wykydtron during there show in Kingston, Ontario. I recall during an interview Cam mentioned some fans in virginia brought a pigs head on a stick to a show which was football kicked off stage into the pit.

Corrosion of conformity - A great although often overlooked gem, with there guitarists lending there talents to both Down and Superjoint Ritual. In the arms of god is a great album.

Crowbar - Louisiana sludge metal, if you like slow, down tuned stonery riffs, this is the band for you, very easy to learn to play as well.
