Great info Air Bud.Dogs are very intuitive and thieves fear dogs too.Good for your Pup for signalling you.
My old dog jumped out a window threw a screen down the road and chomped a German Shepard that bit my daughter moments earlier. We have no idea to this day how he knew she was under attack. I miss him every day.

Thanks, Ph- indeed, a bit scary! Usually more in tune with flashing lights (squad cars, etc.), grew complacent with all the illegal fireworks last night, the sirens, et. al.

We have more than state allotted plant count (for obvious breeding reasons) so being awoken @ 1:30 with firemen at the door, was startling. Usually have ALL windows open at night for breeze, but had them closed up as gunpowder/ the "f-z-z-z-t-BLAST" un-nerves us, and esp. our canine pal. Can only imagine the fraught w/ veterans hearing/smelling fireworks- a gruesome reminder of the battlefield.

I'm sure you miss him, your dog, and thankful he KNEW to defend your daughter.

Besides being a faithful companion, dogs are great deterrent for would be "takers".

I was thinkin of gettin a big light which comes on when someone walks past the sensor, but this would be pointed at the greenhouse so i was wondering if this would endanger the plants vis a vis confusing their light cycle etc?

Well how it might effect the plants is a valid issue, which by the way if it's rare the lights come on and they don't stay on too long (just a minute or two), then it should be okay. I think there is another issue to consider though. Having the light pointed at the green house might also serve to make people more aware of something going on there out of the ordinary. For something like this you want the light to alert you so better to place it where you'll see it. That way you can step outside and see if it requires further investigation or was just the wind blowing some leaves around. Of course if you do find someone ripping your grow you better be prepared on what you are going to do if anything, to stop them. They're not going to be like "Oh gosh darn, you caught me"

Yeah in my area they were even using the effect of fireworks going off on veterans still struggling with PTSD as a way to discourage random people from setting off firecrackers, m-80's, bottle rockets and such.

It's encouraging to see our society showing proper respect and consideration for returning vets. It's just a crying shame we couldn't have been more this way for the Vietnam Vets when they came home. Although at least those that need it of that group are also finally getting better consideration.

Look up drive way motion detector alarms. They come in three packs and signal you inside your house to a receiver. Some work in series and make noise and others are silent and just signal motion to your receiver that you would keep were you want.

There cheap too
Has anyone got a good reccommendation for these motion detector alarms was lookin on amazon but mixed reviews for most....any names? cheers....

They will be back now they know what to find, even if it's next year.... They will remember. Unless you're greenhouse is in public view I reckon it was somebody you know or maybe one of your neighbours that over look u. Do what I did, booby trap. Rusty Sharpe nails sticking up through fence and gate, I also got a load of pike fishing barbed hooks and tied them to strong fishing line around the bolt on the gate. That shit works,It caught my cousins fingers when he tried to let himself in back gate by putting hand over to unlock bolt lol.

Local job then, and they probably just put them into their own indoor grow. Some random ripper from out of town isn't likely to try to take the pot along with the plant. Likewise if you're just looking to steal someone's plants to get high you wouldn't bother with the pots.

They obviously just moved them to another outdoor location. They are kids that probably live with their parents and even if not, no one is going to put tons of effort into stealing some plants from outside that they are going to move into their nice indoor grow room...Seems a lot easier just to order seeds.

They are kids that moved them to a Gorilla Spot. Almost guaranteed unless it was someone you know very well that knew they could easily waltz in and grab them.

I don't feel that these guys furthered the grow.Maybe if this was in cali were it is more common knowledge.
Most people don't understand the life cycle of cannabis and these turds stealing your plants in the early season sends a strong message that they have no clue.

You seem like a really nice guy who wants to grow in peace and harmony. Your home your plants is your heaven on earth and you don't want that to change. We all understand that, but it happened and I hope you take a hard line to deter any future invasions.

If they are local they will not loose interest. The only way to stop them is FEAR.If you create some fear then you can go back to your old ways.

That is really low, I think about that happening more lately. I live near a small town and was told about a guy in his 40's going around to houses asking people if they have seen his dog. That was his excuse if anyone was home, but they caught him in someones house in the middle of the day and had him arrested. Sorry about your loss.

Was in the local pub last night, and this guy walks in noone knows him apparently hes a drifter been hanging around a few local villages. didnt strike me as a head but you never know. still think it was kids who have put them in the surrounding fields, i remember a few years ago a farmer found some cannabis plants in the middle of his sweetcorn fields....

ha ha nice one! I once used to lock the door to where I store my weed and then I would hide the key somewhere difficult to find in case burglars get in. Problem was I kept forgettin when a bit stoned where the key was....

When I said "their own indoor grow" I didn't mean an actual grow that already has plants, nor did I necessarily mean an established indoor grow room. What I meant was they are trying to grow what they stole and had them indoors somewhere so as to avoid getting caught by the law or the original owner. It was said somewhere that this was a small town so I figured they (the thieves) would want to get them somewhere quick where they would be undetected.

To do it as a gorilla grow would require them to try to establish said grow in the middle of the night under the cover of darkness which seems unlikely and to set up a guerilla grow in the daytime would increase chances of getting caught since people in small towns tend to be aware of everyone's business. The safest bet for not getting caught would be to steal them and put them indoors somewhere.
