Those small leaves that are frosty looking? I leave them on, but some people trim and trim and trim. I believe it is strictly personal preference.
To get those tiny leaves out, (that are covered with trichomes and you could just smoke), you need tiny scissors and lots of patience. But remember all that handling and cutting, you are bound to knock off a bunch of trichomes in the process. I cut the fan leaves, big ones that are not frosty and thats it.
