I probably might just ditch the heater altogether Right now it’s set at its minimum temperature of 60° that ought to help dial down The electrical draw considerablyI don't heat my outdoor fish pond. I throw a bubbler in the water to leave a hole in the ice. The fish have been in there for years and do just fine. They go dormant (torpor), don't eat, don't swim, they are just there waiting for spring.
Had to check it but indeed goldfish live just well in the 0-22 celsius range, didnt know this!
30 kg is the world record as far as I know… this is pretty mind blowing, but it’s been authenticated it’s trueGoldfish can also grow very big google told me.
That’s a nice set up…There is no ice on my pond at the moment, but you get the idea. These fish have been in here for about fifteen years.
