Check out the local walmart for the Stanleys. They are a seasonal item. Last fall I couldn't find one in any local stores I ended up ordering one from Home depot online. I couldn't find one this year at the HD online site. Sure enough Walmart had them. Last I looked they had them in stock.

i saw the stanley at walmart, but after watching an anti-walmart video about high cost for low prices, i couldn't convince myself to purchase it due to walmart's poor treatment of employees, exploitation, etc. menards had it for the same price, so i got it there instead. poor old menard's guy on tv died a while back, so i figured he would turn in his grave if i went to walmart after he stressed about saving BIG money at menards.

anyways, what EXACT attachments do i need to fit the stanley. essentially, i want 4" flex ducting to accompany the blower. i've read this whole thread over and over and it seems like there are mixed opinions on the attachment sizes. can someone please list what you need to do the entire mod including specific measurements. thanks everybody.

Any modification depends on how you plan to use it. A good description of your plans or a pict of your setup would help.

Ic00p4, your not too wise if you buy into those types of videos. Wal-mart is paving the way with environmentally friendly stores etc.... I could go on and on. Have fun buying it at your local store. LOL. nowadays it doesn't take much to fool someone. Trust me Wal-Mart is better then many of the other corporate jackass company's. I have been to their corporate headquarters in Bentenville Ark. It's very modest and offers a true understanding of the way SAM Walton and his followers run a company.

no offense badgr, but you fail to realize what walmart really is. isn't it funny how $1 billion dollars of tax payer money goes to provide walmart employees with welfare because they can't pay for expensive walmart insurance working 40+ hours a week? haven't you also noticed that walmart is against unions? why so??? maybe because they want to keep screwing their employees over. i'm not buying into the video, i'm buying in to ACTUAL employee testimonials. of course whoever made the movie is going to be biased, but walmart has nearly eradicated most mom and pop stores. if you feel that exploitation and corruption are modest, be my guest. walmart is the one of the richest corporations, but why doesn't that money go back to their employees. oh yeah, walmart is not better than any other jackass corp, it is just as worst. behind the smile there is a hidden meaning. do some research before you try to tell me that walmart is legit.

No one is forcing anyone to work at Walmart. The real truth is that most Walmart employees are low or no skilled people who likely couldnt find a job anywhere else. Walmart pays for them to support their families. Penn and Teller did a great episode of Bullshit on the Walmart haters. Look it up on Youtube.

EDIT: Hell, if I could turn my growing into a main career Id work at Walmart on the side just for the hell of it.....and the employee discount lol.

STANLEY BLOWER QUESTION??
I use two Stanley blowers. ANY of you using 4" intake and exhaust on them? Is it an ok size duct for a large cab grow. Seems to work great for me but maybe I could be getting more out of my blowers?

Below Information Was Written after smoking my Bong. Take what you will.

That was a hilarious episode of Penn and Teller. One of my family members does engineering for wal-mart so I do know what I'm talking about. I don't care as much about the employees they aren't very helpful when I'm their but the stores impact on the world we live in. They have a good thing going and will for any time in the near future so get use to it. You proubly shop at many other franchises they own. Any way this rant needs to be over I see your point but I don't really care about those issues. IF you don't like working their and you could get a better job then go for it. Peace

well right now i have cfls in a rubbermaid setup and am planning on getting either a 250 or 400 digital hps. i decide to get the 250, then i would get another one later. after i save up some cash for a hydrohut mini and get strapped with a light, then i'm off. right now i am using the stanley to help cool my closet as well as blow air through the intake since i don't have the proper ducting attachments yet. do most people here use a 5"-4" reducer for the intake? i am not sure what to get because i am reading mixed opinions on which pieces fit the best.

you need a 5" starter duct then a 5"-4" adaptor to go on it, thats on the intake side. the output side needs a 6" duct on it. you can put an adaptor on it to downsize to 4" but 6" is better.

Wouldn't you want a larger intake then exhaust (referring to size of duct). The blower's output exhaust can't put out any more then the intake can supply? Would you agree? Common HVAC stuff.

This quote is from Ic's original post. He clearly states he wants to use 4 inch ducting.
I'm pretty sure dopest is refering to Ic's desire to use 4 inch ducting. If Ic wants to pull air thru a light with 4 inch vents then he needs to move up to 5 inch at the fan because A 5 inch fitting fits the intake on a stanley best. the odd sized rectangular output on a stanley is closest to 6 inches so that size fitting is easiest to fit. If Ic want to stick with the 4 inch duct than he needs to use a reducer . I use 6 inch duct on both ends on my Stanley but there are plenty of posts here from Folks that use 4 inch duct with good results.

yeah dude, i was confused because some people liked certain sizes, etc. i want to know which would be prime for me before i go out and buy the ducting. confucius was crazy. dude loved the proverbs.

I have a pretty big cab and I'm using 2 Stanley's:
-one Stanley blower for passively exhausting both veg and flower cab air, and the air in the utility/blower/ballest area. intake side of the blower is open. Cut the guard off too. Exhausting side of the blower is pushing air through 4" round duct to a 4' 4" carbon scrubber.
-one more Stanley blower to air cool my 400w hps 4" Air cooled hood. I have the hood pulling fresh intake air that never mixes with the garden air. SO 4" round duct on the intake side of the blower and then another identical 4' 4" duct/carbon scrubber setup for the exhaust side of the blower. The reason I scrub the exhaust air from this blower is b/c of the motor vents on the blower. They pull the same air as the other passive blower i.e.... smelly bud air.

I have often wondered if I should have gone with five or six inch. To this day I'm satisfied with the 4" but would love to be able to upgrade to 5" duct. Anyone know better or have any suggestions?

OK, I just installed a 3rd 1k light. We will see If the Stanley can handle it! outside temps are 75 degrees room temps are at 81. I left the AC set at 80.

This is an older pic but still setup the same. I'm too beat to take any real temp measurements tonight. The real test is if I have to or how low I have to set the AC to maintain the room at 80 degrees.

OK Last night I installed a 3rd 1k light. The room is 6 by 10' Tonight I took temp readings from lights on at 8pm till 11pm. OK with the AC off!

At 8:40pm outside temps were 80 room temps 83 but 87 at the plant tops! A fan adjust dropped plant tops to 84 by 9pm. At 11pm outside temps were 79 room was 82 plant tops were at 85. I agree these temps are at the high end. I expected much higher! Not bad considering the warm outside temps & no ac. Now I will turn the ac back on set at 80 & see what happens. If the Ac has to run constant to keep temps at 80 a larger fan could very well be more efficient energy wise. Regardless not bad for a 50$ fan!

ez i'm glad to hear the stanley can handle 3 1000's. i'm planning on relocating after i harvest and hooking up 3 600's. i was hoping a stanley would be able to cool them all.
