magnseium.nitrogen issue... I think it's more magniseum starting get some epsom salts and use 1 to 2 tsp per gallon of water and use that with your nutrient solution you are using now. So when you feed you will be adding magnesium along with your canna terra product.

I would also find a product you can use like earthjuice microblast; has lots of micronutrients. You are only using that but you need to add micros to it.

Right now you can use epsom salts and next time you feed use it from then on out.

That's a bit stiff on the mg there stitch... waaayyyy too much imho.
I'd go with a much milder approach, like @ 1/8th to 1/4th teaspoon epsom per final (mixed strength) gallon of mixed nutes.

Well reason why I gave that much is because the fan leaves are pretty big; nromally I do recommend that dose for other size plants.

You can get it from pharmacy places.. where you do live?
It's mainly used as an additive to add to water to soak your feet.

Hello MynameStitch,

Thanks for all your efforts to help less knowledgeable growers. I'm about three weeks into my third grow and I've run into my first problem that I don't know how to correct. I noticed the visible signs about a week to ten days ago and just got my hands on a camera. The pictures are a little fuzzy, like my growing expertise, lol. I may have corrected the problem but I'm not sure so I'm asking for your take. Thanks in advance.

Here's the scoop - I have 4 inch pots with Hyponex soil (no nutes.) The soil doesn't contain peat. I water about twice weekly, alternating plain water with the nute formula. I wait until the pots get light in weight before I add water. I mix my nutes about one third strength of the instructions on the nutes data sheet. My water source is an underground spring which also supplies our drinking water. I haven't had the chance to get a PH tester, but I'll do this asap.

I'm using Technaflora BC nutes, 1300 PPM at full strength. I'm mixing at one third strength so my PPMs should be around 430 to 450. Here are the particulars:

Boost - Nitrogen 3% - Phosphorus 0% - Potassium 2%. According to the instructions, I add this first.

Grow - Nitrogen 1% - Phosphorus 3% - Potassium 6%

"Thrive Alive B-1 Red" - (complementary) Nitrogen 1% - Phosphorus 1% - Potassium - 1%

"Thrive Alive B-1 Green - (complementary organic, used as foliar spray) Nitrogen 1% - Phosphorus - 1% - Potassium 1.5%. I added a small drop of dish soap per quart to reduce water droplet size on leaves. I've only used this one time because this is about the time I noticed problems.

The first sign of problems I noticed (about 7 to 10 days ago) were yellowing with brown spots on leaf margins of old leaves. I took these photos today and the affected areas now look like necrosis.

Here's a few photos. I got as close as possible to the affected areas and the shots are a little fuzzy. The last photo is a shot of the whole plants as a comparison:

They look hungry, but before I tell you how to fix it you need to know the ph to make sure your ph is not out of whack.......

They do look hungry for nitrogen and phopshorus.

I used to use hyponix soil mixed with MG soil, it got to hard to find hyponix in big bulk so I had to settle for something else...

Also you should have used perlite, hyponix is a compact soil which means if to much pressure is put on it it will make it a little more difficult to dry ,out and root growth.

u can get some ph test strips and measure the run off water....

I would also not be using thrive alive very much...... just use the grow and bloom

Thanks for the info MnStitch...I've only been able to find soil testers. I read that they're not too reliable, may have to check online as I live in the boonies. Now that you mention it, I think I remember reading advice against thrive alive in another post. Are you suggesting I ditch boost as well? I just mixed a gallon of nutes with boost and grow but I'll happily dump it if necessary. Thanks again.

I would only use them in between transplanting and I do not reccomend it for seedlings.
Soil testers are big junk lol

ph tester or ph test strips work a lot better.

Hi MnStitch, all this stuff came in a sampler. For veg stage, the directions say to use grow, boost and thrive alive red for feeding...thrive alive green is for foliar spray. I've stopped using both red and green, just not sure about boost.

BC Grow 1-3-6
Boost 3-0-2, Ca 3.21 and Fe .409
