no pest strips with diclorvos. home depot. 5 bucks each.
i think mynamestitch says the first thing you should get is no pest strips- NOT sticky traps. two different things.
sorry for the confusion.
KEY INGREDIENT-DICHLORVOS

**** **** **** ****, yes I meant to say no pest strips, that will be the last time I post and talk to on the phone at the same time..... sorry that was my mistake now I feel bad :(

Yes, no pest strips is what I meant to say...
I hate when you type or watch tv and you see something on tv and someone is talking to you and you end up saying something different cause you got distracted with something on tv

if you want to get rid of wathever that is, and it esyer being a clone, you just pic so garlic heads, put them in a bucket of water and them sink them in and skeeze them, after that you pic the clone and dip it in there, it helps if the water is cold.
i think i'm going to try this..

so I've got 2 No Pest Strips in my garage as of right now. I think it'd be a safe bet to buy two more.

how long will this take..? i can hear my girls crying..screaming!! :(

I've heard of some putting a bag over the infected plant with one of those pest strips inside with it as well. Did this overnight to really really let it work. He said he did this only in extreme cases since they really don't work so well once the infestation has set in but if covered and left overnight worked much better.

sardonic, your problem is that youre in your garage. you might as well call the orkin man. also if you have a pet, that makes it worse, esp if its in your home.

spider mites arent really a problem if you ask me if you live in a clean house.

Indiana- bad karma saying judgemental things like that about living in a clean house.
It might come back to haunt you!
Sounds like Sardonic bought a sick clone from what I can tell- and brought his infestation in that way.
It can happen to anybody.
Sardonic- I don't know what your set up is in the garage- but best to make enclosed areas for your plants. That way you can protect them better from unwanted visitors of all kinds.
always best to keep your grow place clean as a lab, and seperate from other life forms and projects. No pets, no pals, no strange clones.

you are right, juana2, that is how I got the mites. I've already confirmed this with the compassion club...compassion..ha

my poor girls!

i've got 4 no pest strips in there right now, and if the dead cricket is an example of their effectiveness...things should be better in no time ha

but really, the plants are doing better. the day after I watered them they had already grown a ton (new healthy looking sets of leaves..).

i think things will end up good. wish me luck, guys, and once more, thanks again for everyone's help..and a special thanks to the O's i've smoked through these stressful times..without all you guys, i'd have probably demolished the whole house by now with my temper :spank: :joint:

indy - count your blessings, I know a couple people that are fookin clean phreaks - - get me? In fact, I'd rather have a surgical procedure done there than in a hospital I don't know,,,, anyway both have had mite infestations. One may have been soil induced but the other was hydro grow

your day is comming.

Lower temps and higher humidity will detur the little bitches; I hear they can absorb enough moisture to cause death. I really hope it painful for them.

Sardonic - If I get a break-out I use 4 strips and it works even with fair ventilation. You should be golden - just don't pull the strips too soon.

Generally, infestations last as long as the plant lives.

Sure you can apply no pest strips and keep them away for a few weeks, but that solution is temporary, at best. I say this having felt the power of the borg on my first grow.

Here's what spidermite damage looks like...

By applying Neem oil at every watering, I've been able to have a pest-free grow. Preventative measures are really the only effective 'cure' for pests...

and make sure you always quarantine fresh club cuts for a few days and maybe give them a dip in safer just to be sure. i learned this the hard way :badday:

sardonic! ****, without having internet i've missed the progress of this thread. i had no idea your spidermite problem was this bad. i really hope you can pull your crop through this...i had the impression that its relatively easy to wipe out an infestation if caught while still in veg. maybe with you're ocd you can go from leaf to leaf picking off all of the eggs and mites with tape =/. take care of the angels! ill talk to you later...the ****ing encryption on pidgin doesnt allow me to talk to you :(

Being a Horticulurist and a Green Manager, basically you can locate spiermites under the leaves of plants and I have seen under the leaves of green house tomatoe plants, basially you spray them off gently with a spray of h20 and then spray with neem oil to prevent reinvasion.

?????

What happened to the strips that you had?

mites that survive the strips may be able to form an immunity to the chemical - then your REALLY ****ED.

Just because all the mites are dead dosen't mean the eggs are too - takes time to get all the son's a bitches and it's the babies that survive and form immunities

Not trying to be a scab ripper but, Post # 59.

Us old fuggers don't post things because we like to get a post count. We post it because we HAVE BEEN their and we feel your pain and we don't want you to go through what we did.

Bleach water (for cost reasons) and clean your room is the only way now the eggs are EVERYWHERE and to go at it half ass with the Pest strips now that you are overly infected is like putting a band-aid on gunshot wound.

If not controlled NOW soon they will be in your house in your pets ears and then the fun really begins.

You are mistaken, SolarT. Making a statement is not getting "pissy". I appreciated your advice, and never suggested otherwise. All I asked for was a little common decency. We are men here, regardless of your superior knowledge of the amazement we call marijuana :D

I will admit that I took the advice with a grain of salt, as I do with all advice from people.
I hope that mends the confusion. I would hate to see my plants suffer because of my lack of knowledge, on the count of some actions on the internet ^_^

Will do, definitely.

yeah, I know. I'm worried. The strips are still in there (four total).

I'll admit, I neglected to spray them with the neem/tobacco as thoroughly as I had been once the infection appeared to be gone -- however, it was not due to lack of knowledge; I had some problems at home and my poor girls suffered because of that. I hope that this will not aid to the babies gaining immunity. I have read how much of a shit storm that can be, and I've been through enough shit storms...

Ok now that we have your attention take heart in the fact we laugh with you not at you. How can such a little thing because so much trouble? The female does nothing but lay eggs man NOTHING BUT. She is an egg layin bud muchin machine. Let say you bend over like a good parent sand give your girl plants a once over and pick and pick to see that all is well. Since ya got mites those eggs then transfer over to your hands your clothes your shoes and you go back inside.

Now Fido like a good dog my cat Smokey greets ya at the door to wish you a good hello. being the good parent you are you bend down to give a good pat or 2 for the welcome and then WHAMO you just got eggs all over your pets and then from there all over the house and remember that bud munchin bitch we talked about earlier? Yup she has had daughters and they to are laying eggs and hatching young faster than tickets to Hannah Montana.

Not to get off track here but.In my state its legal to scalp tickets and have a bud thats done it for over 30 years. he tells me the other day HE HAS NEVER EVER seen tickets go so fast than those for Hannah.

Now when this happened to me from Clones like most of us I went to the Depot and got those bombs that you set and RUN LIKE HELL FROM. I did the upper roof the room itself and the outer room leading to it and left everything in there. Then after a few hours I mixed up a 50/50 mix of bleach and water and went to town cleaning EVERYTHING.

Sadly tho I pitched everything and am now just trying to start over. it pained me to do so but I fought them for over a year and just like you they would go away for a bit and then BAM here they come again that is why I stress EVERY LAST EGG OR ELSE.

Now I'm sure somewhere in the food chain of life they do serve a purpose but understand this KILL THEM ALL OR THEY WILL BE BACK.

I feel for ya and wish ya the best and I have read that if you have a BAD infestation take the plants cover with a bag and place one of those strips under the bag with the plant to REALLY blast them.

Good Luck
