Skunk #1 Mediumless Closet Grow

Hey hidingtree!! I have read a ton about the scale insects. It seems that I will have to work hard to make sure my flower room and plants are good to go next time. I am bringing in another 9000 ladybugs to do some more damage. They seem to hold pretty good control, just not completely effective.

The insect that is attacking my plants is SUPER small. That much, I do know. I have been back at it with the camera in super macro mode taking some photos.

Look at how weird this thing is:

It's only about the size of a pinhead, and is the ONLY evidence minus the rust spots on the leaves I assume is from the crawler stage. I can not find anything to specifically identify this sucker anywhere.

Oh well....hopefully the rest of the ladybugs will keep it in check through flower.

The backside of what you see is just spherical...no hole or whatever.

wtf is that thing munchin on your stalk?! dude, i went with the lady bugs in flower on a mite problem i had once. let me tell you it was pure carnage :dueling: they went straight to town devouring motes and movin on from leave to leave. talkin bout straight soldiers :yoinks: like you said they arent completly effective but shit its well worth it to watch them tear through some pests ass and i even got some lady bug porn out of it but lost my pics on OG :badday:

gl with your pest and great to see you doin well over here! that canopy is to die for :yummy:

The Dopest I wish I knew what that thing was, lol! :chin: I hope that the canopy is good, they will need to come up through the screen and reach up high if I'm going to get the huge colas I like so much! :joint:

hidingtree Yup...the ladybugs are definitely making a dent in the scale. The thing is, there's no way I can see what they are eating. That sack above is only the size of a pinhead....so whatever made it or lives in it is even smaller. I think the ladybugs only eat scale in their crawler stage, so I'm going with the theory of keeping ladybugs around long enough to catch all the hatching crawlers and wipe em out. Oh well, I'll keep the ladybugs kicking through flower anyway. :smoke:

Don't mind me....I'm just bored and having fun with the cam. :joint:

Friggin batteries ran out before I got to take as many as I wanted, but not bad results for about 5 mins worth of shoot time. The batteries have been sent back to their charger for misbehaving. :asskick: :whip:

At least 5 weeks and 5 days to go without sacrament! Bah... :chin:

Gaiusmarius  Thanks man! I try like heck to make the pics worthwhile.

twiztidbudsmoke Thanks for coming by my thread! I'm hoping the screen does me well. Could have got it on just a tad sooner I think though. We'll fix that next run.

Rush Limbong Wassup man! Thanks for the comments. They are just starting to do the spring flower thing in a good way. :joint:

hidingtree  What can I say? You're too kind, and a most humble friend. Today marks exactly four weeks in, so hopefully we'll get a nice finish in 60 days.

They are finally making a nice stretch through the screen. This clone really puts on the sativa traits during flower as far as leaf formation and stretch is concerned.

Also seems I might have a little extra nitrogen built up, so I'm gave them a flush for 24 hours and they go back on flower nutes tonight at 900ppm for now. I'm positive that's what's been causing the little curling leaves in flower now.

Everything else is perfect, and resin is starting to build up WAY heavier than before. Another cool note...with 800W looming over these plants in this little space, this is the FIRST time I have NOT had to move the lights up 1"....I have had them where they are the entire grow.

This is going to be a GREAT run....me thinks. :chin:

yes indeed Stoned2Death, i think you are correct, this is looking to be a superb run. very even canopy, i'm glad you are giving flowering nutes now, should give the buds a further boost.

anyway, keep up the good work mate. :joint:

Gaiusmarius Hey bro! I gave them the full 24 hour flush, then dumped and re-filled with good RO water 0 ppm 5.89ph. Then I added some boost, bloom, and a touch of awesome blossoms to give me a ph of 6.01 and 900ppm. Seems the flower nutes are buffered slightly higher than the veg nutes with technaflora. Anyway, I hope all will be well now.

I am suspecting that too much nitrogen or something caused 2 symptoms I see. One is the curly little sugar leaves. Hopefully they'll straighten out and finish pretty. The other thing I notice is that the fans seem to squeeze up and elongate their growth instead of opening wide, the fingers stay closer together. What is your opinion on this? Too much nitrogen build up? :chin:

meathead Thanks for poppin in! They are definitely starting to take over the screen a good bit. The strings aren't even holding it up anymore, the plant is, but I assume it will help when these suckers get heavy.

70's Pothead Hey man! Talk about stanky. Overall this strain is pretty low odor, but when you touch it...oof. Major sticky hands. There is definitely a noticeable increase in resin production this time around.

See frost?

Update. Plants looking good. Buds starting to finally put on weight. Realized we had that :cuss:light left on for one night again. Happened about a week ago, so that might explain the little delay in bud growth. :spank:

Looks like we're back on track though for a fat finish. I don't know at this point how well it will do, but I don't think I'll beat my last haul of 20 oz. I'm thinking we'll come in right around the 1LB mark this time.

Room temps 70-85F (lights on/off)
Res temps 58F
PPM 950 BC Technaflora Boost, Bloom, and Awesome Blossoms. Watching to see if we can go a little higher, but hesitant at the moment. Watching tip burn closely.
PH 5.89 steady

Here's pics from the flower room :woohoo:

Anyone remember the Dutch Passion Blueberry clone and Pineapple clone I had that were damn near DEAD? Here they are in this pic.

Front right = DP BB
Front left = Pineapple (still kickin)
Back right = Sk #1 momma
Back left = Sk Whz 4 momma

Ohhhhh.......and what's this? Babies? Three little Blueberry clones (one wilted, oops) for the next run. Only need two of them of course, but they are in and starting to root today. They're gonna get some veg time in the cab before they go in the big room to help cut down on delay between harvests.

Hey ya Stoned2Death, good to see your ladies doing their thing man. i hate it when the room light is left on in the dark period, i now always unscrew the bulbs so i have no choice except for working in there when it's day. it can lose you a few days of flowering time every time your dark period is interrupted. total dark for 12 hours, really is very important. my mates b52 grow went from a 8 week strain to 10 weeks and it still wasn't perfectly ready imo. all because his cheap timers kept getting burned out by this one antique lamp he was using amongst the other lamps. after two timers i told him to ditch the lamp, but then he managed to forget the neon tube, so in the end the plants grew up to the ceiling and still didn't make the normal yield nor did they end up very tasty as they probably needed another week or two to finish.

anyway good growings man
