Going to attempt to start the autumn veg patch clearance this afternoon... I’m currently puffing a joint while looking at the area to be tackled. I find this a good way for me to get jobs done well- a look, a think and a smoke then head down and go for it.
I’m moving the patch back to an area that hasn’t been used for veg for 2 years or so so there’s some grass cover to remove too ... also got a large compost heap to spread over once I’m done

Well, it took a couple of days due to time constraints more than anything else- but I’ve stripped, dug over and de weeded the patch.
Some lovely rich soil here, it’s had loads of compost and chicken shit/straw dug in over the years
I got a large compost heap to spread over the top which will partly act as mulch over the winter and feed the big worm population well - I dumped the first barrowfull on and called it a day for now... I’ll get the rest on in the next few days.

Here's an Aussie tree. One that grows on the East coast.

Normally this is a tree from the tropics and sub-tropics ... but I am supplying seed of this useful tree to growers in the south of the country because Climate change has made it warm enough for them to grow much further south than ever before.

Your Majesty will have furniture made from the wood of this variety in her many palaces. In fact the largest of these trees were mostly gone to Europe BEFORE the east coast of Oz was mapped!!! It's common name is Red Cedar.

The tree is planted to give shade to my workshop. Part of my other shed can be seen in the background.

I see your soil is black. You likely live where there are coal mines. Midlands, duck?

Ooroo from the Land of Oz ...

Lovely area you’ve got there mate, plenty of space
I am actually down south, the soil in the rest of the garden is like clay but I have dug a lot of chicken manure, compost and wood ash in over the last few years which has made it very nice to grow in... shame I have so many neighbors overlooking me as I’d love to try some weed plants in there!
All the best

I remember when we lived in Notts the soil was red clay. Awful stuff. So black soil is no guarantee there's midland coal underneath!!!

Sunday morning shed break
Chilling with a nice joint of triangle cheesedog x London church after doing the cleaning up, little lady is having a well deserved iPad break.
Got a window in the rain today, sunny and windy so I’m tempted to move the compost this afternoon but I really should take miss b to the playground first
Got all the lights moved around this week and sorted the tents out, got a couple of weeks until my next repot... got some karma genetics testers going in, but they are regs so I’ve stuck two Seedsman fems in as a back up in case the males are numerous... you never know
Happy Sunday all :tiphat:

Compost didn’t get shifted today, but spent some good time at the playground and out for a walk ... then visitors turned up and life takes over again.
I’ll get on it tomorrow if it’s dry

To be honest you probably wouldn't want to... A week ago either a skunk or groundhog crawled under it and croaked. Smelled rank as all hell until a few days ago. The smell of oranges with a hint of rubber from the buds have covered it up now. Nice to be smelling something that doesn't make me gag as soon as that door swings open.

Damn , that’s looking a lot better than my shed...
Is that the outdoor orange grove harvest?
It’s a dream of mine to live somewhere I can grow some sun kissed buds in privacy.
Nice work mate :tiphat:
Yes, it is. Still have 2 more to pull that are hopefully ripening up with those fem seeds. Thanks for the compliments :tiphat: Usualy my shed is a much more bland place without a few rows of hanging buds.

I’ve still not got the compost spread yet- it’s been pretty much rain since I cleared the patch, and I can’t work the ground when it’s too wet or I’ll destroy the structure.
Been dry-ish today, and we’re getting a strong autumn breeze up, so hopefully it’ll dry things out a bit
I do like the wind, but I have to hide from it when having a joint (like now) so the breeze doesn’t smoke it for me :tiphat:

What's the chance you can grow a plant and tie it down as it grows? I 've seen 8 footers that seemed no taller than the bracken that grew around them.

I have been tempted, but there’s so many lines of sight into my garden, it’s unreal. It’s quite a densely populated area really, I’m thinking I’m going to have to go full on gorilla soon - next year my girl will be at school a little longer so I may have time to scope out some areas.
Shame though, as my garden soil has built up lovely

I like these darker evenings , cold and quiet out -just the odd fox screaming and a dog or two responding.
I just got little miss b to sleep and I’m having a nice joint while dinner finishes cooking. Mrs B is watching her true crime stuff on YouTube via shednet and I’m just catching up on here... thread updates day tomorrow, this new led is absolutely smashing it at the moment and the Chem ogs look like different plants. The triangle cheesedog x church should be dry and ready for the jars, and the sweets need a feed- they’re also close to showing sex, so I’d better examine them.
Good evening to all :tiphat:

Shed update... Added two more plants to it. Northern Lights in the front, all others behind it are Orange Grove. Took the time to smoke a small bowl to celebrate the end of a growing season. Going to finish pulling the remainder fan leaves off tonight and continue with a rough trim to speed up drying.

I’m betting it smells pretty good in there!
My shed smells like wet dog right now, as our jack Russell doesn’t want to go indoors , he’d rather keep running out to the rain then back in the shed.
Must be something out there he’s interested in

It’s 12: o’clock am, just ticked over into my birthday- another year older and that one went very quickly.
Just sparking up a fat joint, hope everyone is well :tiphat:
