San Diego Finest Cuts #3

I have been using a newer spray combo.

Orange TKO (D-Limonene) with castile soap. Seems to be working very well. *Knocks wood*

Also friends have found some predatory nematodes that can be bought and placed in soil. Not only do they control pests, they multiply and give pest management throughout the whole flower period.

Hi everyone I'm fairly new to ICmag and I'm from San Diego so this seemed like the perfect first thread to sub up to. I found the first SDF thread looking for info on dubtech 7 an awesome strain I had for a while but lost and now am getting it back. Thanks for an awesome thread and I'm glad to be here hope I can help add to it.

Anyone in need of a malawi killer x Ethiopian male? He's got interesting double serations about half way up the leaves.

No, but I want to know more! When you run his stem is he fermented lemons (Ethiopian) or more rude, like rotting wood / gear oil (Malawi)?

VERY cool EC!! If that isn't a statement of "you've arrived", I don't know what is!

I have roots on 1 of 5 cuts of the SSH × (MAU × ETH) clones, I am looking forward to getting on with a selection process.

My flower room is cleared and ready for a fresh group of ladies.

Congratulations to Med Tree Seeds on making it into print. You are absolutely worthy.

Just a reminder that we'll be doing a Buds and Beers on Saturday 10/14 @1pm down by the Sports Arena. PM me if you'd like details.

I hope I'm not being naive but I haven't seen a single hint of root aphid activity since the night that I initially saw them. I've been pulling pots off root balls and scoping roots...nothing below or above ground.

That's the flavor I had. There's multiple life stages...sometimes they're winged. By the time you see these guys the root zone has probably got a decent population and these are looking for less populated pastures. They cause hyper fear and dread to the grower due to their reputation for being hard to eradicate
....the plant I got with them was beautiful. I hear they stunt yields and can prolong flowerING time

Here's some shots of some miniature ladies flowering outdoors, fully seeded with by a fella claiming to be half OGKB, part OG/diesel and some mendo purps.

Dubtech7 so pregnant she is spilling out.

Alien Orange Ether has a strong orangey nose and that distinct bud structure of the Orange.

Knock on wood, nothing like that has had its evil little mitts on my plants.

Has this scare altered your IPM at all? If so, what are you doing differently now?

Oh boy.. so...I don't think what I do could be called IPM.
I spent a few years doing pest and disease scouting for commercial ag. I'm very comfortable with a hand scope and pretty familiar with different pest symptoms. In commercial ag they talk about "economic threshold" meaning what is the level of pests that warrants treatment. In my garden there is a zero tolerance. If I see ANY issue, everything in the space is treated as though it has a raging problem. My M.O.has been to detect early, throw stuff away, and hit everything that I'm keeping hard. When I've had a problem I reduce down to small plants and dunk them. About the only preventive thing I've done regularly is to release predator mites around week 4 of flowering.
I feel people have prolonged problems because #1, they try to save plants that are too big to dunk (spray coverage is key) & #2, they are running perpetual...never givining themselves a chance to re-set with clean plants in a clean area.
I know this may sound bogus
to some and I've probably over simplified my answer. I'd love to chat more about it at a meetup. .. .Saturday 10/14/17 would be the next one :tiphat:

Edit...this approach has failed miserably for outdoor stuff. Im just not willing to spray anything once theres bud set. Probably why the only thing I seem able to produce outdoors is pollen and seeds where I feel comfortable using my full arsenal of chemicals (fwiw, I've heard myclobutanil has passed to seed stock so...knowledge is key)
