cold snap has me running plants from outside back in; glad i didn't put them in the ground yet

spent the morning out in the wind and sprinkles covering the peppers, basil, tomatoes, strawberries, onions and flowers that we already planted in the ground with hay or ground covers (any plastic, outdoor blanket, tarp we have laying around)
forecast is for rain and snow mix for next 2 days and lows down to 30
still just cold and overcast but glad we got everything inside or covered as best we could...

just picked up 2 lb's of some hemp seed from a local farmer i've befriended - will produce anywhere from 4-15% CBD and never go over 0.2% CBD. will be planting about 1/3 to 1/2 of the field with this seed (maybe as little as 1/4)
also, im getting a TON of CBD clones from a pal of mine, lots of different varieties

my ag water isn't on again till the end of the month so i'll be prepping the field more until then (marking corrugates for water), and when the water is on i will wet the ground, plant and water everything in after planting/sowing.
that's the plan

I was thinking the same thing about not putting any in the ground yet. Normally I would have but I've been busy the past two weekends and haven't had the chance to dig my last hole and prep the other ones.

Are you going to cull males? Probably not the best to have them go right?

I saw some IG pics from your neck o the woods this morning. It's been steady sleety/slushy/snow coming down here. Dog shit weather here in CO for the next couple of days. I'm really glad I haven't put anything in the ground either. I had figured we'd be safe after the 1st of May but lo and behold.

The rule used to be don't plant until after mother's day. I have some MMJ out and I am checking the garbage bags on them that will keep them from freezing (hopefully). Right now it is about 34 degrees and big flakes of snow are coming down. The life of a farmer is hard and I am glad I don't have much of a grow going on.

If it's feasible for you, get some empty milk jugs or other decent sized water containers, fill them up full of hot water and tuck them under the bags over night or the coldest parts of the day to tide them over. Cannabis can handle a light frost but anything under freezing for extended periods will damage them. :2cents:

ya if you aint preppared to cover and protect your plants outside don't plant early (mothers day)
BUT
we checked plants today (already melted off!) and everything that went out and was covered is fine, uncovered now and enjoying the sunshine; tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, basil

better call that first of JUNE if u really wana play it safe, imo.
i'm pretty low elevation compared to everyone around me, the bigger town near me got nearly 3 inches before the rain turned to snow where we are at. and we are already entirely melted off here while peeps up valley from us are still melting - and could get another hit tonite; we will be re-covering everything before this evening

ganja plants are all just staying inside enjoying the sunshine thru the windows for now, i suppose next week i'll brave putting them into the ground inside the light dep GH
as for the full season plants i may up-pot them one more time before going into the soil
