Are you after the Ca or maybe the Silica in the Vansil Wollastoneite??

both really
just diversifying the sources of calcium and providing a lil bit extra silica; something i've had my eye on for some time
but wasn't until now that i could add it to the arsenal

^^ digging holes inside the wide beds, using native soil from the holes to build up berm edges around the bed & holes
trenches will fill with water and irrigate the beds/holes

^ finally got the pumice, 6 x 1 cubic yard bags, behind them 12 yards of rich af black topsoil - along with several bales of peat moss these components will make up the base mix; may be adding some chunky compost as well; still haven't sourced it yet, but maybe will have some delivered this week

Seafour, the industrial sources here are the best price in bulk, .48 cents a lb for 500.

Bombay, I'm starting to use wollastinite for the reasons Avi mentioned, but also I've been seeing several studies/ reasearch papers showing it works better than other silica sources when used as a soil amendment. Better disease control, specifically p.m.
Here's one on pumpkins: mdpi.com/2071-1050/8/4/293/PDF

Avi, you have a beautiful spot there, lots of good things going on. Would be nice to have that view. Good score in the pumice totes, so much easier to handle. Haven't seen 1 yard ones before. Plenty of kashi in your future.
Is the cattle fencing for bigger wildlife protection, because that's what I use it for. Stuff is not inexpensive.

^ outdoor work is progressing, holes getting dug and about to start mixing big batches of soil and filling the holes to create the burms
filled a "finished" hole with water and it drained entirely in less than 12 hours, actually they were pretty much empty (fully drained) after about 4 or 5 hours, so i think im safe in terms of a heavy watering and somewhat quick drainage... looks like i'll be using more peat and pumice per quantity of black topsoil

picture.php

^ veggie raised beds,
plastic is to solarize, kill grass roots beneath the raised beds
beds are being filled with a mix of naitve soil, black super-rich clay like topsoil and pumice
black basalt stone is native and lines our agriculture fields

^ catpiss moontang canopy
started some light defoliation in anticipation of harvest on these plants (and the entire room to some degree) in anticipation of harvest
gota sour coffee and ammonia smell right now, not as much sour d/chem hints this run, getting a lil more swell out of her and a slightly more complex smell it seems like

^ Rare Dankness Cornbread
real dank bubba kush style strain, this cut stretches alot more than the average bubba in early bloom, but unfortunately it doesn't look like that extra stretch will correspond to any higher flower yield
probably the frostiest strain in the room this run....

picture.php

^^ cornbread top shot; small buds but loads of frost and a real stinker.... got alot of chem kush and musky earthy coffee smells going on

Looking dank as usual. I'm going to be digging holes similar to yours here all too soon.
i'm glad to hear you are digging holes as well :good: :woohoo:
trying to get my shit ready, want to let soil set in the holes and be able to inoculate a few times before planting in it (ideally)

VERY nice Avi...good luck this season !

re-arranging and adding soil to last years beds

^^ raised beds coming along
using pumice in these raised beds, at least in this first one.. help w drainage and aeration, reduce compacting
amending these veggie beds with bio-live from down to earth (got a 50 lb bag a while back and trying to use it up) and some azomite as well (lil bit)
