Here's a Colombian I grew a while ago,
Very slow to flower slower than the Africana's I grow.
There was not much to smoke at harvest lol have done much better
With the likes of Ethiopian.

Thanks bud! That Colombian looks really pretty, pity about yield though. I though Colombians were known for good yield?

Bear in mind that he pulled the males too late so They’re all pretty seeded so buds are of lower quality, and are not as dense as DP usually is.

I recently found some interesting info regarding old rasta community in Ghana, that moved there from Jamaica in 60-70´s. Gonna do more search regarding them and post a little info packet on several threads and we will see if somebody hs more info..

Think about the possibilities that these authentic Rastafari elders took their best sacramental erb seeds with them and the time that has been passed, talking about acclimitazation... Would possibly be great place to find some old Jamaican sativa´s kept pure, who knows

We just need brave member of RUST to go there in a little search trip

Hunting hogs with a lonbow will be fun. Longbows are great for hunting "moving" game IMO. Better than recurves I shoot. Although I know guys who can put an arrow in a quick moving game, including birds.

Hog hunting is fun. I grew up in central Florida before it was overrun by DizzyWorld and all the shitheads who moved to FL. I used to hunt hogs with a shotgun when I was a teen. Hunted them mostly in some Godforsaken swamps like you have where U are. Hogs can get your blood going. They are unpredictable. You never know when one will turn on you. And if they ever knock you off your feet...you are DONE. Good luck hunting!!


Here's one of my 3 SSH finishing up--finally I think. This is the one that didn't get pollinated very much at all...cept the few places I wanted pollination. This is today, Day 88 of flower. She is FINALLY showing signs of finishing. Trichomes still not nearly as heavy as on the two that were seeded up badly. She needs more time. I hope trichomes pick up. This plant will have a nice yield IMO for a 400 Watt light.

Question for anyone reading this:

Do trichomes turn cloudy-->amber on heavily pollinated plants just like an unpollinated one? The two plants I have that got pollinated are heavily frosted with trichomes but don't seem to be turning cloudy yet...nevermind amber. One is on Day 94 the other is day 88 of flower. They were vegged 3-4 weeks. The leaves are dying and the plants look like they are done. Trichomes still clear I need the space, but want to let them finish properly. Any advice or comment?

They look like a fair amount of white hairs still to me. Probably needs a few more weeks. If i am not mistaken Herbalistics SSH went 110+ days in flower. Also not all sativas make amber trichomes :wink:

I didn't know some sativas didn't turn amber. MMaybe that's why. I see an amber head here and there...one out of a 100 maybe. The rest look clear to me.

The one's I'm asking about aren't shown here. This one above, I agree needs a few more weeks. Trichome production hasn't really kicked in on this one yet. It has a fair amount but nothing like the seeded ones not shown.

And I still don't know what I'm gonna do when I chop the seedy ones. I want to save the seeds obviously, but not sure what the best way is. I mean I could do like we did in the old days.

In the circles I ran in we just took a bag(usually an 1 oz) and tossed it in a flour sifter and started crankin. Turned the buds into something uniform and easily rollable...or pipe/bong material....again, usually about 50% was seeds and stems) Rather harsh i know, but this was dry compacted weed from Columbia mostly, sometimes Mexican. The buds were all fucked up anyway 98% of the time. Soooooo I could do that, but I don't really want to.

However the thought of digging all those 100's of seeds out "carefully" makes my head hurt thinking what a pain that will be. That one big sativa pheno has a zillion seeds!!! so I'm thinking "sifter" right now.

The calyxes on the plant above are swelling nicely...much better than the SSH I finished in February. If this plant goes 3 more weeks or so and keeps gaining weight, it's going to be one very nice plant.

I'm so pissed with this new camera, a Olympus Stylus 820 . My old Stylus 320 takes better pics. I wish I had a camera with manual everything, but digital. I may be able to get some bud shots of the seedy ones tomorrow. I have some aux. lighting that helps some. Pain in the ass to setup for it though.

JJ - They will turn....eventually...lol I don't have a microscope, but can get an idea with my point n shewt digi. I have been cutting them when they stop swelling, or stop producing new white pistils. I borrowed a buddie's scope, and looked at all of my samples ~ 10 diff plants, and cutting this way gives me mostly cloudy (some more amber, some more clear) trichs. You have a green thumb........you will know.....They look great btw!

EDIT - My advice on the seeded plants is to let them dry WAY out, then the seeds should be easy to knock out, and if any remain in the bud, they will be few and far between. I was gifted a branch of pinapple punch seeded with DP straw cough (buddy was going for straw-pinapple, didn't quite happen lol). I let it dry for over 2 wks, took the seeds, then put the BONE DRY bud in a jar with a few fresh fan leaves. 2 days of burpin and checkin later, the bud was perfect. I had a seed run recently, rushed the dry process, and it caused me problems. P.S. 2 of my sshxssh broke dirt, send good vibes!

Unfortunately, there is little mistake Hashassassin, which is that I have never ever grown SuperSilverHaze, never...

I think you have most propably mixed it with the OH x SK#1 I have grown several times testing different floweringtime´s & harvestwindows...

Althought Pedro mi hermano, your SSH looks really good and it looks like you are on top of your SSH game compared to your previous SSH grow

What is interesting, is that SSH takes more time to ripe than 100 % pure sativa Malahazi (Original Haze x Malawi Gold) Althought im sure there are longer taking phenos in the Malahazi bunch, but the pheno I got is definitely quite special with it´s resin production & floweringtime, all this for pure sat = mad for marijuanamat!!!

What I recommend you to do JJ is that you harvest those SSH plants partly in different stages :wink: This way you gonna find out which trichome stage suits your requirements best.. I example have started to harvest my sativa´s/sativadoms trying to keep some clear resin heads in the bunch to increase heady effect im after so much!

I only hope I can finish my Swazi´s properly, so I get to smoke her, because it´s a "strain" I have high hopes to produce the high im after! I have made this conclusion after talking with several Swazi Red/Rooibard/Redbeard growers, they all tell me about heady & clear effect that last long! Now that is something im after, if I could found some sativa that produce me "paranoid" high im sold

That is exactly my situation. I smoke a lot these days. I'd love to find some of that laughing, giggly sativa weed from the 70's. I really miss that old seedy-ass Columbian we used to get.
