Red' Greenery's 150 HPS Cab

Hey Red, the plants are looking good man! My Mouth is watering! I just smoked some regs, so those nugs are looking dank. I'll be switching my box to 12/12 this friday, so I'm no more then 2 1/2 months away from my own sweet harvest. :joint: Ahh, I can almost smell the buds from here.

Enjoy it man!

Hey it's day 54 now.

This girl is getting close to the end. It showing more tip burn at reduced nutes. I'm gonna give her just water on the next watering.

 :respect: :headbange :respect: :yummy: :lurk:

I think you got her dialed in buddy.
Enjoy your day and keep yer stick on the ice.

so if im looking for a more "couch lock" what % should of brown/red pistils should i be looking for? like 90% or lower?

G

Guest

higher % of amber trichs means more couch-lock and more cloudy trichs means a more head high...i think :chin:

yeah i knew that :p...but i didnt know what the percent of pistils are brown when the amber ones start...anyone who keeps it till they are amber can chime in hehe..

heres some pics. i KNOW my ph is off..but i think my meter is off too. ive got some N lockout as well. right now im just hoping to keep them alive till i harvest. the big one has a sweet looking "double bud". when i topped it the two tops didnt grow far apart and are smushing next to each other.

plant 1 top

other side

plant 2...smaller but more frosty and healthierr (i think anyways) just starting to show ph problems with the rust spots.

Hey BG - if the women don't find ya handsome......

Accountwon't work - I'm as dry as you so all I'm doing is drooling every time I open up the cab. You don't get the lovely smell of dank either. LOL

Hey rkrone - I like all cloudy with a few amber.

Darren - your plants look really good. I haven't seen an update for a while. It looks like they can go a bit longer. Your lower leaves look nice and healthy and you don't have tip burn from overfeeding. I'd recommed getting a pocket microscope from radioshack for $15 to watch the trichs.

red i will be trying to follow in your footsteps of this one, yesterday i went to home depot and picked up a cabinet (72hx30wx20d approx) and tomorrow my self contained 150 watt hps from e-conolight will be arriving...im really excited to put it together this weekend:D. but in the meantime i have a few questions if you dont mind...

what was the cost of the replacement back panel?and do you think its completely necessary?

and

im tool-less and i know i need to get some, do you think a hammer, a drill w/ various bits and a screwdriver work to get this set-up?...the screws and bolts arent problem

Jeeze, that carboard backing is really flimsy. I'm sure you could use it but it's pretty crappy. It would need some tape to seal up the joints too. I bought a 4' x 2' piece of 5/8" melamine for 10 bucks. I didn't have to cut it cause the cab is 2' wide.

Definately you need a drill and screwdriver to mount the glass shelves, light and fans. I would recommend getting a jigsaw to cut the vent holes.

Home Depot will cut pieces for you for free. A 4x4 sheet of melamite is $15 and a 4x8 piece is $22.

Tools, mate?

Buy whatever you need to get the job done, if you can afford it. They'll always be there again later when you need them.

The alternative is wasting your time, materials, and fucking up your teeth and fingers.

Or renting/borrowing. But really, the right tool for the job goes a long way. . .
List: circular saw (table saw is even better, unless you can cut a pretty straight line), drill with set of bits and hole saw attachments, jig saw, wire strippers/cutter, tin snips, caulk gun, and yr traditional hand tools (hammer, screw drivers, pliers, needle nose)

ps I used to hate maple syrup until I had the real deal. That Aunt Jemima shit deserves to be served to Americans. Or a redneck few of 'em, anyway.

well i know i need some but money is tight and i think i can afford the above mentioned drill w/bits and a hammer and possibly a jigsaw depending on the cost for the other two and i already have screw drivers and stuff

You should be alright. Get your panels cut for free at the home center where you buy them. The downside is you'll have to know all the dimensions before hand (which you should do anyway, but makes later reconsiderations tough).

yeah the measurements of the freestanding closet i bought are right on the box so the dimensions are already there, my problem will be getting the large piece back to my apt. without a truck. it was a big enough pain to just get the box with the closet panels home in my economy car.

it would be nice to get/have all those tools but all i really can afford is the drill and bits a hammer and possibly a jigsaw.

and to comment on all the syrup here, its strictly the real deal for me

rkrone, if ya have one near. Check out Harbor Freight tools & also Cummins tool. They have some import tools which are normally good enough for part time use @ a pretty good price.
Pawn shops usually have hand tools for good prices too.

I wanted to ask other here also, have you ever grown a strain that never had shown Amber?
The Afgani's I was gifted were said to be a 56day variety. I chopped one at 38day b/c I ran out & wanted to smoke w/o ever buying again. The trich's were pretty much all clear, I chopped another one at 50, it had about 80%cloudy & rest clear. I waited to chop three more till day 66, it was still 80% cloudy. I am waiting till day 74(Saturday) for the last one, but when I looked at last night still no amber.
Think there is just something I am doing wrong?

it could be the particular strain has an abnormally long flower period or the person who gifted them knocked off a couple weeks by mistake

rkrone - here's a nice little trick I learned off a friend when we were poor students and were driving wrecks. We used parts and tools at Canadian Tire, work on the car in the parking lot and return the tools. We used to call Crappy Tire - Rent-a-Tool at one time. Bwahahahaha

Sunset - I had a plant go really long. I grew two plants just like on this grow, one was branchy and fast growing and the other was squat. I watered them both together and the slow one got overwatered. It took forever to flower and took 85 days to finish. It had hardly any rootball. I revegged her and it ran a 55 day cycle, this time being careful with the watering.

Hey Duggy - do they have Home Depot in Japan?

RG--We have similar shops, usually with not quite as much useful stuff as the Home Depots, Lowe's, etc. I buy my HPS lights and bulbs when I go back to the States over the holidays or whenever.
