It's amazing how many people's pics, are not of pit bulls. Just as nobodies story of what they are, is actually what they are. Making most of the stories about how great they are, actually about a different dog.

Ignorance is bliss perhaps. Is it's name not a good clue as to what it is though. I know people with high levels of reasoning are more likely to have a cat than dog, but 4 pages in, this is looking a bit blunt.

This dude is perhaps one of the simplest minded dogs I’ve ever met
 two of my neighbors have allegedly "smart" dogs (Australian sheep dogs) that can only run circles clockwise. when they wrap up their chains on a tree or trampoline, they stand there & howl because they aren't bright enough to go the other damn direction... in all honesty though, their owners are no smarter. think there's a connection there ? who the fuck is so stupid that they give a dog 50 ft of cable and fasten it to a trampoline with 12 fucking legs on it?:dunno: it looks like a giant spider has woven a web within 10 minutes...

Many humans could have a 'Bad Day' psychologically - and many bad days end up with a victim or victims - perhaps bruised and battered - or even shot/stabbed or killed - often these humans end up in jail for their 'Bad Day's' - and some spend the rest of their lives regretting what they have done -

Dogs too have 'Bad Days' - and if its a small dog the damage it can do is limited - so not lethal to humans - maybe it draws a little blood from biting a small child or adult - but if it's a big strong dog that has been exclusively bred for its ability to bite hard and kill - then you end up with a dead or seriously wounded child/adult -

When I was breeding Rott's and Doberman's - I would only ever let my young children interact with the puppies from these dogs - (no matter how well trained the dog was ) - never an adolescent or adult dog - just in case -

Better safe than sorry -

The bigger the dog - the more space it needs to be content and happy - and all dogs need adequate space and time to exercise - to run and exhaust themselves to feel satisfied - along with enough good nutrition and social interaction with other dogs and humans - and get enough rest/sleep to function properly - so cutting down the risk of them having any 'Bad Days'

I find it mind numbingly ridiculous that in our societies people are allowed to own big and potentially dangerous dogs that live in small apartments and houses with very limited spaces for the dog to inhabit - often having small children and adults in very close proximity - the dog rarely gets enough good food/nutrition - and adequate exercise for its size - with kids and adults bothering it all the time (so lack of rest) - and then people are shocked and alarmed when the dog decides to eat the baby -

Here’s a black pit for you. Hammonds alligator dog. Old Carver line down from Ironhead and black beauty bitch. Very smart dog and gentle but needs to be watched and kept away from males with their nuts on.

Haha there’s simple minded and then there is ‘I can only right’. That’s pretty dang funny.
I’ve never understood why dogs get chained or set on a cable like that.

Pitbulls are made of terriers and mastifs mix...but with terrier caracter.
They need to be trained daily and everything will be fine...If not they will start to be agressive and descructive.

Pit Bulls as opposed to Bit Pulls where the rich people use the media to pump up the price of crypto then sell out en mass reaping a huge profit and leaving the rest of the people to take the damage, pulling the rug out from under them.

I'm aware my pics are not pits. I have owned a few pits. Just not my current dogs.

one of the funniest I’ve read……afraid of hounds hunting game…..ran/raised hounds on everything here in Sierras for 25+yrs…..till Cali started to outlaw…….
last thing they are interested in was a human..my kids all had a hand in and Never were they threatened..only dragged around …lol…now game itself…..can be as rough on as any breed can be….not many dogs of any breed will run into a cave to take on long tail cats….speaking of Plotts last one had named Floyd was just that dog…..the courage and ability was worth shedding a tear over when he passed…..

Alligator…!…box dog deluxe….

most folks see big dogs with pointy ears and associate that with "pitbull". the actual breed name is irrelevant to the general public. :dunno:
Most dogs being sold as pit bulls have been outcrossed to different mastiff or American bulldogs to add size. For the most part ruining a functional working animal to make it look a certain way.

normally, a crossbreed inherits the better traits of its parents. not always, unfortunately...:(
You have to consider all of the traits and what you consider to be better. And how this mix and match. High prey drive, natural distrust of strangers, extreme size, athleticism, eager to please.... etc. And also consider many are essentially bred by the dog equivalent of a pollen chucker.

This guy has bred some amazing, healthy bandogs out of old school pit bulls and mastiff. Definitely not dogs for irresponsible owners.

And some people just breed for things like large heads and pretty colors. Ignoring temperament all together.
