Man, when you were getting flooded out last spring I was wondering if they were going to make it. Looks like they are doing just fine. Good job.

Thanks Robrites! I know it! It was looking bad earlier this year! Their root system has officially recovered! More rain chances this upcoming weekend. Rain likely. Keeping an eye on the forecast. If it rains I know what to do... I was working on cutting out mold all day. About 5 hours at the plot, and the rest back at home. Still have a couple newspapers full to trim out mold on! Hoping the whole harvest isn't like this! :smoke:

I know the best way to tell if a bud is ripe is by the trichomes. Saw mostly milky and clear with a few amber yesterday. I noticed the seed has finished ripening. Seems kind of early for that. How good of an indicator is seed maturity for bud ripeness? Nothing better than a little finger hash... :smoke:

Looking good pipeline..... gonna have to take your lead and start harvesting soon... that moist cycle is something to be considered especially in my area.

As far a seed maturity being an indicator... imo it does depend on when they got pollinated... is super early then they can show signs of ripeness while the flowers are not...
I would say if the flowers/trichomes are showing sign that they are ready at the same time the seeds are shucking (like clam or corn lol)
From the calyx then I would say.... their done!
All tho you can peel em out of the calyx and at times still be mature and the bud not,.. I just let the plant tell me what's going on most times... but "our" schedules won't allow that at times...

Thanks! The males live there on site and pollinate from an early age. I pulled males early to let the girls fill in. Should have left a early couple early males to have pollen throughout flower. After a few weeks of ripening the seed just about pops out from the calyx drying. I was thinking, once you get those good tiger stripers, the pretty seed, they're about ready. :smoke:

thanks kyg! I don't know why they're so far ahead this year. I think its a combination of things. I kept them plenty happy with my scraping and piling and topdressing. They had lots of water, sunshine, and the temperatures were warm for a couple weeks, speeding up maturity. Boy its nice having something good to puff on. Trichomes just got to their good maturity this week. mark it on the calender. Have a pipe. Get some rest... :smoke:

Proof is in the pudding. or bubble hash... I bet the resin is pretty ripe already. If you really knew your cannabis, you'd be able to smoke hash and tell when the plant was harvested. Can't say I'm that good yet... :smoke:

Thanks slender. I make all the hash by hand stirring, so whenever I get around to pressing bricks, I hope I have a little faster way of doing it. I'd like to see some of these big bags in action. Need to do some thread searching in the off season. Got all my herb gardening chores done now for the week. Taking my dogs out for a hike this afternoon! Gonna bring my pipe... :smoke:

A chance of rain this weekend. Other than that should be good ripening conditions. Anyone know a good anti-rain dance? If I can just get 2 more weeks.... :smoke:

"If I can just get 2 more weeks...."
I've said those words more than once in years past.
Hope you do.

Get some ruby slippers and wish you were in northern CO. Weather here is nothing but sunny days and cloudy nights for the next 10 days. Hoping to get into october for my sativa this year.

In 2 weeks i feel like most of the resin and seed will be ripe. I guess I'd hope for an additional week of sun and breeze to help with drying... I'd love to let them go until mid October if the weather will cooperate.

Hey deft! Glad to hear the weather forecast looks good! If I had sativas out I may not have had mold yet this year, but I also wouldn't be picking this early... :smoke:

I had to pull on the 20th last year due to wet conditions and a hard frost, so I know the pain. But I still got a pound off my legal 3 rec plants and it looks like you'll have plenty to keep you busy till next harvest season.

Luckily we aren't dealing with frost yet. Sept. 20 is pretty early, but depending on strain, should be pretty decent smoke by then. Was another beautiful late summer day today. Buds should be building fast! Glad to be in a low area this time of year! Plenty of moisture for the roots to drink up. Just 2 more weeks... Go herb! :smoke:
