Here is my case fellas using a 70 hps security lite converted to a remote ballast.....4 fans 3 intakes and one 1 exhaust.........for odor control will be using a small mini carbon scrubber built from scratch using sugar bears diy.......

3 inlet 1 exhaust? nice way tomake sure your scrubber doesnt work i guess.

yea seriously you need negative pressure in there, not postative, airs gonna get pushed out the seams.

Hello everyone. I've been looking thru this and other pc grow threads and am about to set one up my self. I was wondering if my case is big enough to flower in? It's 14"h x 14"w x 5 1/2"d. I'm thinking of scroging with 1 maybe 2 plants. I was just gonna put a surge protector on the side at the top with two 23 or 26 watt CFLs, like vaporbros. I'll post some pics as soon as its setup, but just wanted some feedback.

With a screen or even some serious LST, you can make this happen... but also
if you top your plants as they go in to 12/12 and also flower at a small size then
you should be able to do the entire grow

SOG would be the best for a small area like ours. My PC is 7 inches deep. With the power strip, 2 prong adapter, and CFL mounted, its about 6 1/2 - 7 inches. Which may be too big for your settup. Although they do sell smaller CFL's you can just double up on those.

I'm not sure if a computer's PS uses the full amount or just the load. Maybe someone could put a meter on it and find out. In the meantime, using the 12v converter for fans seems the way to go. If any CFL's happen to actually burn out, you can go back to the Home De Pot and get a free replacement no questions asked, no receipt needed.

Props to my fellow PC growers! Thank you for all the wisdom and inspiring pics in this thread.

Here's a couple shots of my PC cab. One thing on mine that I've yet to see elsewhere is the use of a proper PC fanbus. I'm able to dial-in temperatures with ease, and the cab has been very good to me in general since it was first put in service last month.

Pardon the spam, but background information about my cabs and my grow log are available at: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=1990034#post1990034

Cheers! :joint:

narcolepticus looks like itll make a beautiful growing environment:joint:...
couple questions:
is this a veg chamber or are you planning on growing start to finish in this baby?
also are you doing soil or hydro?

thanks for posting ur pics and good luck

hey! i guess i should have included a few more details, unfortnately the state i was in .. well, you know .. HEHE

I plan on start/clone* to finish in most cases... i also plan to do a lot of experimentation in this environment. Currently this is a soil setup.

At the moment i have two Big Bud clones sitting ~2.5 inches from 84w of 6500k CFLs. I am almost ready to transplant these babies.. I suppose i shoud start a journal .. thanks guy!

*incl. seed to flower. in this current test i was provided with 2 healthy clones :joint:

Bump.. anyone have tips for installing CFLs in PC? I have no experience with lighting and can't figure out this seemingly basic step. I have some nice CFL bulbs but I don't know what to do past that. Will not be using the PC power supply.

Was hoping I could mount the bulbs in a fixture then have a chain off the fixture that I could adjust the distance from plants w/ but don't know the easiest way to provide electricity to the bulbs.

you can grab a power strip and some plug in bulb sockets and use 3 or even 4 small
CFLs, cover the back of the power strip with velcro and add a couple strips of
velcro
to the back wall of ur PC use the velcro to mount your power strip w/bulbs and to adjust
hieght simply unmount the velcro and adjust the height of the power strip...

I have helped freinds make PCs witht his concept (just be sure to get the heavy duty
velcro so the bulbs dont sag)

I have this one I threw togther to try and flower in but right now I am using it for a veg/mom chamber. It can hold up to 6 cfls right now but potentially 8.

wow two great pcs... that put my just under an oz making machine to shame....

tpyn thats a big PC! but you make use of every square inch so intricately that not
only are you PART of PC growers i think you can pull the RECORD with that
beautiful screen and its large canopy great setup and great thread if you
wouldnt mind i love the pic included but add a couple to the thread so
everyone knows whats goin on in there!

Field of Dreams another big PC and you also are able to cram those extra lumens
really well and with the CFLs ur temps are sure to stay cool, with those 6 bulbs
(or 8!) you can def give tpyn a little competition for that record...

Can I pick up plug-in bulb sockets at Wal-mart and Lowes/Home Depot? I take this to mean I just screw in the bulb and run a wire that is already built-in to the socket into a power outlet. That's what I want but I had a really hard time finding such a thing even at Home Depot!
