hello,

i think that was 12 weeks from pistil developement not switch (it was not any longer)

but, i was using a 250w, and it wasn't properly mature when flowered, so i think you could get it / similar phenos done in 10 weeks or so, guessing (?).

the 2 males i had, started flowering very early.

ace's quoted flowering times seem close / honest i think, although i have only grown some tikal and 1x panama female to harvest.

i don't know if the green / other phenos can take longer etc (?)

-------------

really fun strain though, noob resistant, has good vigor, although not immense vertical growth, non-symetrical branching that gets a bit "jungley", very nice trichome production and spaceeeeeeed out high.

...atleast the 1 female i got (regular seed) did,

Hey, can you remember how long it took for pistil development to start. I just started a Panama and assumed the 12 weeks was from was the flip, 11/13. Since some plants go 3 weeks and beyond before they start making pistils, that could make it 15 or more weeks.

i think for mine,

(i like to do a 1 hour per day incremental shiftto flowering from 19/5 to 11/13)

there was obvious "start of flowering" i.e. calyx/pistil cluster development beginnings from about week 2 i think.

i.e. 19/5 on first day by day 14 (6/7th day of 11/13) it was pretty obvious

but i am guessing.

-----------------

AS far as i gather seedbanks suggested flowering times are from start of flower, for a sexually mature plant, under a 600w HID light,

but i dunno.

----------------

if you have a 15+ weeker then i am sure your head will blown !!!

don't doubt there are phenotypes in there as 3 (?) more (?) parental plants in the cross, just with beind domesticated somewhat, i would guess that the vast vast majority of plants will not go that long,

but i have only grown 1 plant...

hehe.

Thanks for that, it was really helpful.

Interesting light schedule. I've done 11/13 dropping 1/4 hour a week until 10 hours, and it worked fine. Don't think it lowered the flowering time though.

Cheers

i just do it to be kind, like hardening off, as plants slow to react, and nice to be gentle, with weeks of hard effort flowing ahead.

BUT with a ~12 weeker, i think the extra hours (remaining @ 11/13) is valuable for someone like me, with a low output HID.

12/12 i seem to get less phenotype expression, for sativa doms, although maybe influenced by other peoples anectodes, i don't know.

(one eye always on yield, primary eye on quality)

i would consider less then 11 for like 16 weeker or something but i haven't ever grown anything beyond 15 weeks (...that was a "100% indica" maroc).

it's all good fun.

going to try cross to nepjam, this grow, but i sold my camera to buy a 400w ballast and bulbs

(so i can fit more plants in my tent)

Looks like some chunky buds there.

I tried the Gaslight Method for a few runs and it works great. I suspect it would be awesome for long growing sats. It took 2 weeks of an 11 weeks strain for me and I think it could take more off longer growing strains. The only problem is if you keep taking a clone from a clone under 12/1 you start to see a drop in yield. So if you had a mother under 18/6 and then put the clones under 12/1 you could get the benefit of reduced flowering time and no lose in yield. Wish I had the space to keep a mother.

my "mother room" is a carboard box with a 36w spiro fluro in it, with about 1l pots (guess) and then they just get root pruned when running low on nutes, with a handfull of fresh compost (thats all i can fit in the pots).

like rootball down to 6cm cube or something

they stay in a "semi-vegatitve" stage, although will not yield good clones unless greened up / turned more vigorous under more ideal conditions.

> this is my panama mother and behind are 2 clones from her, she might be a year old (?), kept in bad conditions....

she has got bigger and greener then usual, as no point keeping the carboard box running with the tent going

i don't know about the gaslantern method, but i know that plants do things at night time, venting, building various chemicals and rest (the darkness accounts for the phenotypic expression on 11/13 vs 12/12 i believe) so presumably its going to effect things, not knowelegeable enough to know for the better or worse, just if i got an hours sleep here and there and made to work, going to be PISSED.

same difference, of impacting stress on living organisms imho, plants and humans alike (....perhaps hypocrite, what with mother room, but atleast it is consistent...).

good luck with the panama though!,

i bought toooo many ace seeds, now, just reading peoples diarys, "want that one" etc etc

not enough time to grow!!!

Panama buds 3 month curing

Panama buds 3 month curing

Hi, happy new year for everybody, I am happy to come
with better quality pictures because finally I can get a camera,
the panama when grinded smell a mix of tropical fruit and when
you smell the jar is a pungent lemon pine fuel aroma, everyday is going better, the taste is improving pineapple a bit of lemon, but the background is something I never taste I don`t know very well how to explain it, oldschool flavour?, I love the effect man, last saturday
I went party with friends and we smoke 3 joints by the street,
while we were drinking, the thing is that with another hybrid in the second joint mixed with all the rum you get down and takes away the strength and desire to do things if you realize this and not fall into perpetual murky thoughts, with this one It`s different give you energy while you feel the wave but at the same time you are mellow and relaxed, very clean, perfect for party¡¡, the panama was 1 month in wood and 2 months in the jars

7,5 weeks suffering from cold, low hum and small pots, but so far not a single Banana, great selection job.
A very forgiving plant, I expected much worse under this conditions.

I pulled my Panama at 10 weeks 11/13. I believe I have the Green phenol. Pulled when mostly milky/cloudy. No amber, about 5% white hairs.

I tried the Panama today. It has a very POTENT smell. The terps are popping and it smells like GOOD FUNKY WEED!! Funks up the room when you break it up......already. Been drying for a few days. Put it in the vaporizer, and it has a smooth "tart lemonade" kind of taste. Exhale is fruity. After my first session, I felt energized, up, and clear. It gave me energy and connected me to the universe...if you know what I mean. It made me just want to say..."yeah.....this is some good shit". Panama has that "Sativa...Clear, euphoric, no anxiety, uplifting, smile on your face kind of high" Like a little toke of sunshine!! No heavy feeling at all.... I can still feel it as I type these words........I feel like a rasta.....Ya Mon!

I'm glad I got the FEM and the REG seeds!!! Also, I pollenated a few branches of the Panama with the Snowhigh Black Maui!!!:dance013:

Can't wait to see what's NEW coming from ACE!!! Looking forward to grabbing WHATEVER new gear they release!!

Still a way to go until a proper cure is on my panama. I think I may have pulled it a bit early. The bud looks quite airy, and not very filled out. Not sure if the panama bud is usually AIRY or less hairy and more filled out!!!

I also attempted to reveg the Panama, and so far so good!!!
