Interesting I love yucca, they are very hardy plants! They do well and flower in my front bed, even with some shade! I'm surrounded by land and at 39N.
Well nothing, man; I invite you on a trip to your east following our parallel 39°N to my hill, so you can see flowering yuccas in mid-October...
October-17 :
Today, after a nighttime minimum of 15°C (59°C), it dawned here between cloudy and semi-cloudy and sparkling, and promising more rain... But the sun quickly managed to pierce and sneak through the clouds, and in the end we had a maximum of 27°C (80.5°C) in the shade...and four drops of rain.
...But the AEMet forecasts predict heavy rain starting tomorrow, and this is confirmed by the air that begins to flow, air from the southwest which normally brings heat and even Saharan haze but comes this time fresh and full of the smell of sand and dry earth...

(Looking towards the valley; it is assumed that Don Quixote

passed through that valley, after freeing those condemned to row in the war galleys from their chains, to hide from the wrath and patrols of the Holy Brotherhood, and to perform penances in honor of Dulcinea...):

...But we are going to climb my mount (with montuno music)

towards the plants to secure them a little against the air... Along the way, a very young lemon tree that bears fruit for the first time, a canariensis palm tree, olives trees, and Yako at my feet while I photograph:

Aire, pasa,

Aire nuevo, aire fresco, pa' la casa...
Aire, aire, pasa pasa,

Lele pom pom , lelele pasa,
que tengo la puerta abierta la alegría en mi casa...
Lele pom pom, lelele pasa, aire,

... love seeing outdoor growers from climates as unfriendly to sativa plants in general as our German friends, succeeding with their crops...

...Meanwhile, deep inside deep Hispanistan...
18-October:
Today, a day of rain, winds... and helicopters...
Rain: It has been raining all day, and it only stopped and the sky cleared somewhat in the evening. Heavy rains are predicted here for the entire week, which everyone here celebrates. It has only stopped raining and the sky has cleared a little at dusk, with the sun almost gone, which is when I took the opportunity to climb the hill to see my bushes and take these photos, while a helicopter flew over me a few meters away. over my head, and the dogs were barking at it...
Winds: strong winds of 50 km (30 miles)/h and with some maximum gusts of up to 85 km (53 miles)/h. This wind will last two days; My area is not very windy, and I am not used to it.
Helicopters: Yesterday the Civil Guard intervened in the next town, an open-air plantation in the countryside, of more than 2,500 large plants (which doesn't seem like self-consumption, heh...I leave you a photo that the Civil Guard has published, with the plants already cut/lying down in the ground), and I don't know if that's why with today's weather, this forestry helicopter is going flying around so much over here...

Going to be just right I think for jarring this weekend. Weather has been cool and humid with clouds for some of this week, so drying has been gradual. Today was warm and sunny. Should make for a good cure. Getting a batch of rain tomorrow, so that will rehydrate the flowers and help keep them from drying out too much. Been busy with work, so glad its not too dry of conditions.

Harvest is just as important as growing in producing good quality flower end product. Too dry and you loose some of the valuable terpenes. Too wet, and you risk getting mold outbreaks and its more prone to going stale in the jar. I like to err on the side of dry, and they seem to rehydrate after jarring, especially with the seed. I'm not able to check the jars daily though, so they have to be dry enough when jarred to not risk condensation/ sweating. :smoke:

Some more views from harvest. :smoke:
