Hi Bleiweis,

maybe the soil mix was too strong for her ?

I had this as an issue as some of my amendments were not consistent from bag to bag. Once the roots worked down a little and distilled water as dubi recommended it cleared up. The plants are getting happier now and able to take up more nutrients in the hotter spots in soil without adverse effects to plants. Peace

Looking great Syd Barrett! Are these regular or feminized plants? The few I have growing are regular seeds. 4 out of 5 were female. The male was moved back outside. No plans for hybrids this year. There is 5 plants out with him now. Just curious how far into fall or winter they can stay alive. Peace

Thank you Farmerlion! She is from fem seed.I've grown one more and was VERY pleased, the flavour was out of this world ,great yield and the high was the cleanest I've encountered and very positive.I liked the popcorn buds more, had a very weird uplift effect that cut into every other smoke!I liked the flower formation, too!

I believe your male will be quite resistant to cold, dubi has mentioned that OE likes lower temps during last weeks.

I have been having to change and mix my water sources lately. The lake water was 6.8ph and now is at 8.3. The well water at the house was 8.7 to 8.9 and now is 6.5. I have had to blend them 50/50 trying to be 7.0 to 7.3 area. I had again some mites from being outside. I purchased some ladybugs, problem solved. Very happy about that. I culled 42 plants last season due to pests. I could have saved them easily with the ladybugs. Everything has pistils now but one Peyote Purple and one Orient Express. With cooler temperatures on the way. Nights already dropping in temperature, flowering temps should really work out well for the next two months. The Golden Tiger is putting on weight and calyx's are showing up more and more. Main cola is about beer bottle size now. Very earthy and dense aroma. Peace

hallo dubi and everyone.:comfort: I am planning my orient express grow and i just want you to tell me what you think of this: My plan is first two weeks biobizz light mix only-no extra nutrients in 2 lt pots and then transplanting into 13lt pots with organic supersoil prepared from me. I am not planning to use nutriends because the organic soil will already have all the nutrients for the plant to absorb. But dubi sais in flowering feed them! Maybe i can add in the flowering some bio flores ? Any other tip ? Thanks everybody and keep growing dubis wonders!!!:thank you:

Just dropped six OE beans on 8/18, two up so far. One of the two is trifoliate. Does anyone have any experience with trifoliate OEs? I searched the thread but could not find anything.

I am wondering whether this trifoliate plant will be worth keeping until sex shows, or whether I should euthanize it early.

I have never used Trifoliate can't help you there. I use Alaskan brands fish emulsion and more bloom. The more bloom has worked very well. The fish emulsion for (N). I may move away from and try something different next season. George7 your soil may be great for 4 weeks or so of flowering. I would give them a couple lite bumps through week 8 then back to water for finish. Opinions may very but it works well for me. Mine eat well with no problems. I feed on a weekly basis but in lite doses and a (Tbls. of Epsom salts in 5 gal water). I do use a different mix for more finicky plants. My Golden Tiger gets much lighter feedings and is happy. Peace

Still just two of six seeds up, five days after dropping into soil, following a 48hr soak. I figure that's probably all I'm going to get, so I will be keeping the trifoliate, come hell or high water.

48 hours soak is too long in my experience - especially with fresh seeds. After 24 hours when the seeds crack I put them in soil - once the tail is exposed I believe too many things can halt growth - pathogens in the water, heat, cold, drying out, coming in to contact with acid on fingertips or unwashed tools. Mandala seeds changed my germination method and it's proved the most reliable.

Lovely smoke from the OE - well worth the effort. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I will try a shorter soak on future runs. While I like to think of myself as pretty competent with growing overall, I am not the best with seeds and seedlings, so all input is appreciated!

Trying hard, but haven't managed to kill her yet!She has just started to flower, pics are from 2 days ago.I tied her tops a bit today.Should 've done it earlier, but nevermind. When I look at her I am sad I couldn't run her with HPS due to excessive heat(and angry with my incompetence in mixing soil).

b8man, (Mandala seeds changed my germination method and it's proved the most reliable.)
I agree totally with that. The growing tips page on their site has as much if not more good information than most books. They try to be very helpful to growers the same as dubi does. They aren't always around but are willing when they are. I always have a couple of their plants growing. Ganesh is a family favorite. I have germinated seeds like that now for about 8 years. The other thing I've done for the last several years is from DJ Short. If any seed comes up week and needs to be supported, cull it immediately. I germinate another seed and it is only a couple days behind and no issues babysitting a weak plant. Peace

Hi FL!Yes,i can say without doubt that OE has one of the top smells I've encountered so far...Very different than "usual"(dutch genes) strains...Can't really describe...Looks like this one smells exactly like her sister, which was top notch!
