Depending on the ph of your tap water might take 2-3 days. Also look for some mollasses in the shop, it would be a nice carbs hit for plant and soil plus good amounts of calcium and magnesium...

If possible buy the organic stuff but regular will do the trick.

I realised i may have been a wee bit cavalier in my advice re: stem bending. It is a great technique but i should have emphasised to be gentle and careful. Holding the stem tightly just above where the bend is taking place and supporting it as the stem folds over is a good idea. Its best to let any tearing take place horizontally rather then vertically. On a younger and thinner stem this isnt a problem and they just nicely bend like so. This was topped by some local wildlife and then i bent all the stems to make a nice bush



After checking on my plants in the bush that i bent over i realised that they are now more susceptibile to a fungal attack. Mostly because my stems were a little on the thick side most of them have small/medium or large tears on the stem. Now this isnt a major drama, the plant does a great job of healing itself but its good practice to help them along.

So i hit em with a nice neem spray and then couple days later a chamomile/kelp spray as am anti-fungal/plant tonic. This will help stop any infection as the plant tissue is exposed. I also found slugs feasting on the exposed part.

I have lost one of the plants above the stem snap but all the rest look ok. This is about the worst one but i reckon it should be ok.




So my routine for bending will now be:

1. Gently crush and then bend stem, supporting stem to minimise any tearing.
2. Have a neem or chamomile or kelp foliar spray ready to go and spray the whole plant and especially the bent area. There are also commercial antifungal sprays for roses etc available.
3. If possible keep the plants dry and away from slugs/ants etc for a week or so after.
4. It might be a good idea to keep some masking tape on hand just in case some first aid is required but as long as step 1 is done properly this shouldnt be necessary. But... if it is i would firmly bandage up the stem after spraying the neem etc on the plant tissue

Neutrog have a cool new fertiliser aimed at kids called Rocket fuel.. It is given out for free to schools and is 100% organic and certified. Pretty cheap too, around $17 for 15kg. This is going to be topdressed on all my spots. On a side note i was looking at some Osmacote ferts and they now have a + organics range with dry molasses bits plus all the usuals like kelp, blood, bone and humic acid. But it was more expensive than 15kg of the Rocket fuel for only 500g lols.

yup, got me some of that rocket fuel too. good to see it's for a good cause - maybe it will inspire some younguns to be the next generation of ganga farmers!
@ Silver Surfer - the nutrient analysis looks ok, but do you know exactly what is in it (chicken poo, cow poo, hippy poo)??

Heaps of new growth and looks healthy. Thanks for the molasses and cider vinager advice.

My friend decided to tip the plant and will be tying it down shortly. When does the budding normaly start? Just because we have noticed some small white hairs coming out from the tops. he took a close up photo but its hard to really see the hairs.

Anyway i hope you all like the new pics. And let me know what you think.

Looks good mate. Flowering depends how far north you are. But should be around end of january i reckon. I would suggest you transplant into either the ground or a larger pot. Also i would get some kind of flowering ferts and topdress with some nice mulch. Sativas like plenty of root space.

Not sure exactly whats in the Rocket Fuel luvaduck... but i trust neutrog. Its some kind of composted pellet.

I think he was hoping 30L of potting mix would be enough? Im thinking it would be kinda hard to take a medium sized plant out of a pot with 30L of dirt in it while keeping the roots in tact?
Maybe he could cut the base of the pot away with somthing sharp? any sugestions? then dig a hole half as deep as the pot and place the pot in to it with no base?

Just grab the base of the stem and pull...comes out in one big lump.

I just came back from a Christmas holiday in Tasmania. 40 mins outside of Launceston. Lots of bush and small population out there. Would be really good if the temps where a bit warmer and the heat stayed around a little longer. But other then that a really nice island.

Thats a 30litre pot? The angle is deceiving. But yeah i like to repot mine right before they flower. Go around double what you have. I like to wet mine first and then hold onto the bottom of the stem and turn the pot upside down.

Its also good to rip off the bottom of the root ball, epsecially if its all bunched up at he bottom.

Yeah thats a 10 litre ice-cream tub. Reclining Buddah is the strain. I sat the pot in a trough (with a few others) and filled it with water every day.

That was 4 years ago.
