Bubbler for clones are great

Bubbler for clones are great

Finally I had all clones root in a small bubbler that had 12 spots. I want to make individual bubllers for the biggest plants and try putting the other two in dirt. Has anyone taken them from water to dirt??

bubblers

I made one of these last night for less than $15. Got 2 bubble stones and pump from WallyWorld for less than $15 already had tubing because I have fish. I used a 5 gallon cat litter bucket and painted it black. Took about 20 minutes to make. I like this stuff. Has anyone taken clones from aerobubblers and put them in dirt?? How was it?? I want to do half and half.

that really is a nice cheap and simple set up. i have been running a very similar system for a short amount of time and have found that checking the ppm and ph levels every couple of days and changing the water once a week to be the only real maintenance. that really is a fantastic rootsystem on that plant. it is awesome of you to put that tutorial together for those of us just learning.

Hey Rafe, I have not heard of anyone doing that yet, but i will let you know if I hear anything. Erestese, I found my tds and ph meter on ebay for next to nothing. I also am doing things on a budget, so finding the cheapest is absolutely necessary.

My clone that went to the dirt is doing great. No symptoms at all. What kind of ph/ec tester did you get. I have been watching eBay too. I buy a lot of stuff there. Thanks so much for your time everyone!!

pH

The pH of my bubble cloner is now down to 5.8. I got 3 bottles of pH down today and my air conditioner is installed too. So I am ready I think for a very productive fall and winter of growing along with a harvest!!! Thanks a lot to everyone for the help and I'm sure I will be back for more and I'll be downloading some pictures as soon as learn how to.

OK here's a new question

OK here's a new question

I was looking on eBay for pH down since my pH is naturally 7.5. If you go to the pool section you can buy 15 lbs og pH down for what it would cost to buy about 5 lbs including shipping. It is in powder form. Is that a problem?? If not then that is defenitely the way to go!!!. Thanks everyone.

Thanks so much for posting this method ,always been wary of trying hydro. But as we can see its relativly easy with this method I can't wait to set this up this weekend .

The only Q i was wondering .Is it better to have more smaller buckets like 8 ...2 gallon ones ...a plant in each ..under a 600 ..Or 4 larger ..5 gallon buckets with a plant in each ...Would the bigger buckets make a much larger yield with only 4 plants?

what can I use to individually cool each bucket a few degrees?

this thread is great. cheap and simple but very effective, just like the title says.

i recently went back to hydro from coco. i have to admit, while hydro demands a bit more time - it's results are phenomenal. i have a 20 bucket system modeled after Blazeoneup's recirculating DWC.

my opinion BP is that you go with larger buckets. the reason? roots. my 5 gallon buckets are filled with roots. FILLED. and with a huge root system, you will see fantastic yields.

root rot can be a problem in hydro... but there are plenty of things to both prevent, and cure that. my first piece of advice if going recirculating - is invest in a water chiller. keep your temps around 67-69 and you shouldnt get rot. if you do, use ZONE - it's a fantastic root conditioner, and pretty damn cheap for the dosage (a bottle goes a long way.) you cant use ZONE with organics... but if you get rot, you can use ZONE during your change out. creates the whitest, crispiest root mass you can imagine :joint:

I just had a breakthrough with this.. If you get 5 gallon plastic totes and lightproof them with panda film (poly) and drill as many 2" netpot sites as will fit... Place a small clone in each site and put straight into 12/12. Fit as many totes as you can under your light to maximize yield. Think putting 192 clones under a 400w and getting 3g per clone... what if you got 7g?! !>! thats 1400g under a 400w!!! More plants = more gpw over time!

drd, great thread 1? though after rooting should there be an airgap between the pot or should it always be in the water?

To start there should be water all the way to the net pots then when the roots get to the water you can let it drop .

i float ma cuttings using styrofoam...the stem neva reaches the water....but tha water gets splashed on2 the cut by the bubbles!!!seems 2 root faster than cuttings i had sitting in tha water!!afta i have enuf roots i then place them in ma homemade netpots!!might create ma own thread with photos!!churr...ma 2cents

Canna?

Canna?

I am planning my first hydro grow. The substrate and nutrient line that I will use is Canna, already bought. Would this medium and nutrient line be good for DWC? If so, what size net ppot should I use?

Yep take a fishtank, black out the glass, cut a piece of foam add nets, bubbler and airstoneyd and voilla you have a simple hydro system

Hey Im new but have been reading for a while now. I currently have 3 dwc plants going in 5 gallon buckets with airstone (circular shape). They have been in for about 1 week now, seem to be doing fine but I was wondering about the ppm reading. I have a "Sprite Industries Wp-2000" tds meter and am using boticare grow and karma nutes does anyone have any idea what the optimum ppm should be (after subtracting water ppm) This is my first try with hydro and am looking for any suggestions. Thanks
