Not everyone can appreciate the high of true sativa, specially the young people the who are used to the strong indica hybrids, time ago i share few spliff of green haze thai with one friend, after one hour of laugh, philosophical speeches and happy moments, he told me that the grass was light, and that he felt nothing ....all this while he was still laughing!!!

I think its the high CBD blocking up their receptors. It takes 1-4 weeks for them to properly reset. I will tell people I give my sativa to, smoke only this for 1 week and then tell me if you like it. Don't just smoke one joint.

Same with some of my friends. They first say they do not feel anything and when I ask why they speak and laugh so much? they dont know what to respond :)

And I say, that's exactly what Im looking for in Sativas: a clean head high with no body stone at all.

Do you have any recommendations or is there a thread for Clear/Clean sativas?

To me Destroyer as well as Kali Mist are clear sativas. Otherwise try something Mexican or Thai. I never tried those last strains, but I've always heard they are very clear in effect.

Kind regards,

green OT haze, harvested 4wks ago @ 20wks of 11/13...
picture.php

she was the tallest, longest INL'd, lightest green'd.
only one that put out cone-shaped buds.
almost looked like she could yield if given room to grow.

the others buds were more like a spray of foxtails at each node.
a little darker green'd too. they also tended to finish earlier.
"Coney"'s cone-shaped buds eventually turned
into squirrelly fox-tails too, as seen above.

the outlier in this OT haze grow is the long-flowering, low-yielding,
purple (eventually) wheat pheno. harvested same time as the above pheno...
picture.php

it has the same "berrywood" aroma as the other,
faster-finishing purple haze, but a little sweeter.
both these girls smelled distinctly different from the green hazes.

she was the last to finally re-veg, about a month after harvest.
still sitting in the same pot/soil she was vegged and flowered out in...
picture.php

quick shot of when she was in flower,
when i thought she was a wispy thai-leaner.
it wasn't until the last week or two of flowering that her purple came on.

lowfalutin- Looking great! I love the re-veg shot. Some of these ultra tropicals are great for re-veging.

@ 2scoot,21 weeks and still putting out white hairs. That's OT Haze.

Lowfalutin and 2scoot, can I ask how you judge when to harvest? I have taken mine anywhere from 19-21. At that stage I am just starting to see the odd amber trich. At 19 weeks it is an active but relaxing high, gives me a lot of focus and a bit euphoric.
I think I could take it to 24 but I worry about wrecking the nice high. My purple OT haze is really nice even without a cure which I hardly ever find in a proper sativa.

Beautiful photo's.

Hard Rain -
I have taken OTH to 23 weeks and at that time all of the trichs are completely cloudy with roughly 10% being amber. I find the high to be very euphoric and then more toward relaxing on the downside of the high - which lasts for more than 6 hours.
But I have also found that the full compliments of the high isnt realized until 6 months of cure, thats when it really gets good.
I have some OTH now that is over 18 months old and its still fantastic!
I plan on taking this current OTH to at least 23 weeks. I find that when I think its ready I give it another week. Whats so interesting about growing many of ACE's sativas is that they go through so many phases - you mentioned the plant still throwing pistils - another growth phase that's accompanied by additional resin as well. For me, patience is the key to enjoying a great end product.
Im pretty excited about this one as its going to be a perfect time to enjoy during our upcoming summer!

Hi 2scoot,

Glad to see you are revisiting Oldtimer's Haze :)
Is it a new parental plant from seed ?

Really nice reddish and resinous pheno! Huge respects to you for having the patience, skills and courage to finish properly indoors an extreme tropical sativa of this kind

Hi hard rain,

It's an art to know when is the best moment to harvest your plants, especially with very long flowering sativas like Oldtimer's Haze. It's a balance between the state of the trichomes, ripening of last reflowering, peak of terpene produciton, health of the plant, limitations due to growing variables in upcoming days (for example when the weather outdoors is going to get worst close to harvest, etc ...).

Glad you are enjoying with your Oldtimer's Hazes ;)

Wow 2scoot, looks phenomenal. May I ask, how many individuals did you grow to find such a lovely plant?

PandyFackler - I went through quite a few but Im sure any of them would have been outstanding.
This was just another of my tests, in this case I wanted to see how well OTH could be grown under a 315 CMH - you have seen the results above. The final verdict will be in once cured and sampled. :)

Hi dubi - yes this is from seed, seed I received from ACE a few years ago.
This was an interesting grow. As I said above I wanted to see how well I could finish out an OTH under a single 315 CMH.
This particular plant had darn near perfect growing temps day and night. Plant was very nutrient efficient as well, mild feedings of 500 ppm's were the norm and all leaves top to bottom stayed green up until a few weeks ago. Containers were my typical 5 gal rose pots with Pro-Mix HP, no amendments.
This was also a first for me going straight to 11/13 from seed - still had to top it though. My other OTH grows were under 1000 w HPS/MH and I would veg for 6 weeks before lowering the light, but I had much higher ceilings at that time and plants were HUGE!
At this point in my life I only care about the quality of the end product - yield has taken the very back seat :)

oldtimers haze, green phenotype
harvested @ 19wks of 11/13
8wk cure
the high has gained cleanliness and clarity since harvest.
less "hazy dazy". a mild energy level has begun to turn on.
i think it needs another 4-6wks to get right...

I have been growing some Green Haze / Thai this season. Seeds were germinated between start and mid Dec ... a late start to try and keep the size manageable !! These look like they could get huge with an early germination (say, end of Sept) and long veg period. Transplanted into ground mid to end Jan (i.e. 6 to 8 weeks old), with flowering starting during 2nd week of March (i.e. after 12 to 14 weeks veg).

These photos are from about three week ago (at about six weeks into flower). There is one elegant girl, surrounded by three males, doing their manly duty and creating future GHT seeds. Some side branches were also taken off the males, so as to collect pollen to seed a Chimera Hawaiian Spice and Lemon Cello (i.e. Sweet Skunk).

Photos from the weekend, at about 8.5 weeks into flower. Males have been chopped, with only the female remaining ... she appears to now be heavily seeded.
