at a little over 8wks of 11/13.
the 2 main pheno/genotypes i'm seeing in the green OT haze
basically lie between these two bud structure types:
the faster, more productive, a little darker greened...

the slower, less productive, a little lighter greened...

Just had some P. Haze x KC and have a next cross of P Haze x Purple PCK in flower now. I was delighted by the haze as were grower friends who have grown many hazes especially.
I am sure you will find the expression you desire.
I am thinking to add a bag to my next order in Feb.
OldTimersHaze and Ace Seeds love, passion and expert breeding, make these a must for haze lovers.
Thank you for sharing you photos Low Falutin ! Happy growing! :tiphat:

how does the shorter flowering wider-leaf "mexican" green haze pheno compare to the average green haze? is it clearer or less clear? more or less energetic?

is purple haze very similiar to punto rojo?

as soon as theres more (semi-)autoflowering sativas i will cross them to oldtimer haze :)

@ 11wks of 11/13, with the two
"opposing" bud/plant structures...
picture.php

aromas on all plants are a similar earth/humus.
tall one's at 20"/51cm, shorter's at 10".
they've stayed nicely small in the 1qt.-sized* pots,
and will be up-potted into largers as soon as
their soil's dried enough.

also, soon time for pollination. i find wispy-
budded plants harder to re-veg, so don't know yet
how much of each plant i'll devote to seed-making
and/or re-vegging.

i've twice the number of the shorter denser
structured vs the lighter, longer...
maybe they're more frequently occuring?
structures representative of parents used?
difference in effects between the structures?

Hi 48N,

You can also find excellent effects in the shorter flowering wider-leaf Green Haze pheno, the quality of the effect in Oldtimer's Haze line is not so related to structures, the key is selection.

Yes, Purple Haze pheno is highly related to the old Punto Rojo sativa strains.

Hi LowFalutin,

Current Green Haze release is an open pollination of the green pheno: many Green Haze parental plants (females and males) were open pollinated to produce this release.

Not sure how many seeds did you germinate, but usually the thin leaved, taller, longer flowering phenos are more prevalent. Interesting you are finding easily plants from the more compact Green Haze pheno. Guess it is just probabilistic , bigger populations will show in a more representative way the ratios of the different phenos.

I'm amazed how you always manage to control the size of your hazes so they flower almost like dwarfs from seed. :)

Best wishes!

thanks much for the info dubi.
i got almost all compact darker green phenos,
with one taller and lighter greened; and one
kind of runty, lighter-green, with really sparse buds.

Hi LowFalutin,

Lovely Purple Haze :) Hope you are not dissapointed to find a purple one in your pack of Green Haze. Green Haze release certainly produces mostly green phenos, but since this release has been produced by open pollinating many different Green Haze parental plants there's always a chance that an unexpected recessive purple pheno come out.

Hey Dubi!

sorry to barge in like this, I was gifted a package of Old timer's haze with the package date as 10/08/16, is there any chance there is any information about the pheno's used for batches that packaged around that time?

Also working my way thru the thread, but would like to ask are their any reports to which type of indoor light this strain would appreciate more? (i don't think outdoor is a possibility i'm in around the 44*-45* on the inland) Yes i understand it will be a daunting task to tame them for indoor growth I am more than up for the challenge.

thanks

^^ White light is favored by me and others. I favor the high Kelvin lights, currently have a 10,000 K fluorescent going. My others are 5000 K LED.

I have been growing sativas for a while now. I just pinch the stem and fold it over as soon as it gets too high. Keep at it most everyday. They will grow sideways a bit but not too high. Supercropping is what it is called. Tying them down is another trick. I keep the lights close as well, helps a bit.

Thanks for the reply Yesum,

I'm not too concerned about height. between topping and training and blooming from clone I'm sure i can keep them within the 7-8 ft i can likely set up for them. I'm getting them at the perfect time for me. likely moving to a new set of rooms in the summer and likely will have a dedicated sativa room :D

I will likely have high K +uva fluorescent supplemental lighting, I'm more debating dual CMH vs a DE sorta scenario

or just split the difference with dual CMH and a 600w hps. that should have the light intensity these babies will seek.

cheers dubi, that purple one turned into a nice surprise.
it even finished first, with ambers showing at about 18wks
of 11/13. this was from seed, after 5wks veg before flowering.
ended up taking her down 2dys shy of 19wks.
her reveg is starting to put out the goofy reveg growth...
picture.php

the wispy wheat pheno also ended up turning purple towards the very end,
which you can see in her reveg...
picture.php

took her exactly 1wk after the first purple, the last of this haze grow,
along with the tallest green haze.

the rest of the hazes were harvested in the time between.
so, this oldtimers haze flowering went almost 20wks total,
add 5wks for seed-launch and a bit of veg and you've got
yourself a half-year long little project.

airy sativa revegs need to be kept from dry winter air,
so got 'em in their own private greenhouses, and sitting
under very bright 5000K LED flood-light replacements.
purple wheat pheno, right...
picture.php

unlike halogen, etc. these LEDs provide
naturally color-balanced picture results

saludos
