Wow, just wow, what a thread.
Some nice people have given some good advice about being safe with electricity.
Plus reputation to ALL of you trying to keep fellow growers safe.

Sadly I've seen this M.O. from TREE before. Come to the forums hat in hand and ask a question gets good advice, which he ignores and does whatever he was going to do in the first place, don't really see the point in wasting his and everyone’s time.

Then when it's pointed out multiple times by multiple people that what he is doing is putting his and others lives and property in great danger, you are just some tough guy shit talking on the interwebz. Completely unreal. Amazing that anyone bothers spending time typing up a thoughtful post to him anymore. Bless you all for putting so much effort into trying to teach him something, even if he refuses to learn, it may teach someone else who is reading along and save them and or there property.

As for TREE's new name on the forum maybe it should be changed to“FireStarter”.
This is song keeps popping into my mind while reading this thread, it can be TREEs new theme song.[YOUTUBEIF]http://youtu.be/g8D4AsLzlM0[/YOUTUBEIF]

that happened in one thread where i wasnt taking peoples advice but now you wanna talk shit like i do that everyday. sorry but sometimes people disagree with each other this isnt a fuckin cult. if you dont like how i talk then leave the thread. ive learned alot of stuff from members here and ive always thanked people and have been polite so stop acting like im some asshole arguing with everyone all the time

and hears a new name for you. DICK HEAD. isnt it nice you can still keep your same initials lol

No, seriously. And I feel entitled to this post, since I just spent (wasted?) time reading through ten pages of hilarious mis-guided hiliarity.

There's something to be said for your willingness to listen to answers to the question you asked yourself.

We have two ears and one mouth. What's that mean? We should probably listen twice as much as we talk.

You're putting your own (your choice, good on you) life AND OTHERS' at risk with your facacta uneducated-DIY projects. And when people tell you that, it's not because it makes them feel big or cool. It's because it's a real concern and a real possibility.

If you've got it all figured out, don't come asking.

If you come asking, be prepared (and mature enough) to listen to what you're being told.

Nobody would've wasted 10 pages of thread trying to tell you what to do had you not asked.

Sorry boss - :respect: <-- You've got none.

can you post a link to these please? all my cords are 50 ft or less. fuck one of my cords are 75 ft i think. i could buy new ballasts if it came down to it, that would be great if i could minus out the extension cords

Hey.. Im no electrician, but are you sure you have 2 30's there? That looks like a dual pole 30 amp breaker to me. As in its 240V - 30 amps total.
If youre trying to run all this off of that 30 I suggest you stop now
My 4 light controller(600W) is 30A-240V & my AC is hardwired on a DEDICATED 20A-240V circuit. Everything else is split between different 20A circuits.
YOU DO NOT WANT TO RUN CONSTANT AT MORE THAN 75% LOAD!
Ive read the LG AC warnings that say you should never use an extension cord to run this unit and it must be installed on a dedicated circuit. Its 9.2A

well let me say that I not an electrician either. but i use a 20amp-240v circuit for every four 1000w hps lamps.

I've heard different rules for constant load percentages. but I don't think I ever heard anything official. I think I'm going to use 10 gauge wire next time.

my AC is plugged into a outlet on a DEDICATED 20A-240V circuit. when I got my AC I installed the outlet/circuit to its specifications and location.

you could use metal junction boxes and outlet boxes and run some metal conduit to connect them. all the stuff could be installed on the face of the wall or on a sheet of plywood.

There is a reason they dont make any 4 light controllers on 20A. They make delay relays just so you dont have them all start up at the same time because of the startup load.

ok i got a question for you guys. i have this type of outlet on my wall on the kitchen counter and on the fuse box it says its a 20 amp circuit but when i plug in a 8000 btu ac it flicks the switch on the outlet, shuts the power off and then i have to hit the reset button on the outlet. does anyone know why it does this?

Do you even know the total you have available to the unit? There is no way you can still be plugging shit in over there dude! WTF!
Thats probably a gfci/gfi you are resetting(for some reason I cant see pics on my browser now). it detects a faulty ground and keeps you from killing yourself.
EDIT: You are so delusional youre not even willing to listen to the electronics themselves now! Dont press your luck! Its been fun and I really want to see you continue to post your failed crops, and constant switching between growing methods and nutrients before you finally take down some buds, so please dont kill yourself. I wanna be there to pat you on the back when youre growing the bomb dude!
I gotta go take care of business. Keep us posted, homie

..and in the process, you proceeded to show and tell us all how your room is dangerously, well, unsafe.

And in that process, failed to appreciate or respect the observation on the part of many others.

The same others you were asking for help to rig up your previously unsafe AC.

Edit: It's also worth pointing out that my original post did not use the words "running" nor "extension" nor "cord."
