is nextgen the name of the company or is it a type of ballast made by different companies? i cant find a ballast by that name on the discount-hydro.com site. do they make a ballast that switches from mh to hps and 110v to 220v i need both these options?

Hey I just finished with all my growing for the day. My lights just went on 30mins ago. Hardly any work to do, no PH Perfect or anything. I just spent time tying up my colas that are falling over.

the one thing i have noticed is that there are no members here who keep saying that they are electricians. i think it is because every one of them on IC has already tried to "reason" with you about your approach to wiring, and the fact that THEY REALLY KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT makes you really hard to deal with
multiple people who don't understand as much as someone who actually earns there living making sure people don't get killed by electricity have noticed that you don't really know what the hell you are doing, and the shortcuts you are (and have been) willing to make are just out and out dangerous.
by my count there are probably a dozen if not more members who are electricians, and not one of them is willing to tell you how to fix your issues. all these guys are always willing to help another member out but they have washed their hands of you.
does that make you stop and think that maybe, just maybe you could be in a place that scares the ever living shit out of the pros?

to be honest i dont really care who in this thread thinks im over my head. if i was an electrician or knew alot about the subjects in this thread than i would calmly give the thread starter my thoughts without bashing him and that would be the end of it. instead you got people name calling and posting the same shit over and over like they got nothing better to do. thats the difference between me and alot of other people in this thread. i dont bash people when they dont know as much as i do and there trying to learn something. so if you think im not smart enough to understand what that outlet is on the wall that dont say anything to me and keep it movin. im always gonna be on the mission to learn more shit weather you like it or not. and to the minority of people in this thread that were helpful and gave me information and taught me a few things like how to rewire an air conditioner cord i thank you guys very much. instead of these people insulting me they taught me a few things which is why i started this thread in the first place
a perfect example is AzGrOw-N-sMoKe. he heard i was using extension cords but instead of him insulting me he told me im able to get 65' cords to hook up my ballast now i dont have to use extension cords anymore. we need more people like him on here thanks AzGrOw-N-sMoKe

Hey dumbfuck! You do realize its still unsafe to plug this shit in with the longer cords right? Just because its plugged into a different outlet doesnt mean its on a different circuit. There is no way you have 4 seperate circuits, plus that 30 amps, a dedicated circuit for 1 AC, pumps, fans another AC and unless youre living by candle light youve got to be using other appliances. You cant safely use the digital timers for your 1000W lights!
I repeat! Do not take anyone elses advice and shut this fucking grow down before you kill your neighbors.

i know that but theres nothing else being powered in my kitchen nothing was turned on you know what im sayin? the fridge is on its own circuit. i also forgot to mention i have two of these outlets on the same counter and there seperated at 20 amps each so i really have 40 amp access in the kitchen i also have outlets like this in both my bathrooms but i didnt try plugging the ac in there
why does the outlet trip instead of it tripping on the box in the basement? i feel like its stopping me from being able to use more power on the 20 amp circuits. is it possible the outlet trips at 10 amps when it can really handle 20 cause its wired at 20?

Each outlet gets connected to the closest wire run. Therefor two rooms that share a wall may also share 1 part of a circuit on that one wall and still share a totally different circuit on the otherside, all while sharing a whole other circuit for the overhead lights! The only thing in your kitchen that probably has its own circuit is the stove - if its electric!
Youre so far over your head its making me sick, Im having a hard time laughing because Im concerned for your mental health as well as the safety of others

You could order some of these for the 65ft an your normal ballasts if going any 25 ft or shorter... of you can figure what ya need to run for the 4k to be extension cord free, double it an 4k at night one roon an 4k in the day on the other... 0 elec work an ya have your 8k garden, run 2 ballast per 15 amp breaker but never at the same time..... then when ypu figure how to do elev work u can get pne'a these for that 30 amp dryer, if in fact it is 30 amp... http://www.hydroheadquarters.com/nextgen-1000w-switchable-digital-ballast/ . if so you could take your power from the dryer supply (like other members have said), mount all your ballasts so they will plug in on the factory supply cords (like you are suppose to)outside the rooms so the heat from the ballasts would be less of an issue.......... and unless your apartment is huge, you should be able to put all the lights anyplace you want to. and it would all be safe
but that would be silly wouldn't it?

wow you keep giving me the best fuckin advice thanks. now i dont gotta fuck with the washer and dryer connection and i can still run 8 lights. i dont have enough room to go past 8 lights so for now i wont be needing that PURGRO 1K4 FLIP BALLAST. im curious what you would do if you were me though. as far as the 4 lights in the attic currently, theres no attic door its just empty so i put a black tarp up with velcro and its easy to run the ballast cords underneath but when i add the 4 more lights in the bedroom the door is gonna be closed so how do you recommend i run the 4 ballast wired into the room?
