My DIY aircooled hood, work in progress:

Now, I still have to carve a hole for the fan in the hood, put the glass on and maybe paint it white. What do you guys think?

I probably would line the inside with mylar if it's possible. Otherwise a reflective white paint would work. Outside of that, you need more light when taking pictures. But I get the jist of it. Looks like you got the right idea man. Keep up the good work.
well i tryed to take some pics of my 2 babys and hood but i cant even get one pic off a rechrage batts and out off aa batts but any ways i stared my flush and they will be coming down tommoro nite well at one will the other is not doing well at all i might and try to giver her some more time her buds are so small its not funny not worth even keeping.
my last to crops have not been good last one i waited to long for the amber trics i nere seen but may be one or two. ended up with some nice looking buds with a 30 min high its hit from hard or mild and only last a few mins but my fault i played with it for 2 long
when they said my strain is a 8 week strain they mean it lol i waited 12 weeks and runed my crop well baby tommor is 8 weeks and the others are coming down if i am lucking i wil pull a oz this harvest but all is good i got pleanty now to get tru x mas
next crop will be chem? x c-99 hope she stronger than my ak

If I remember right, you switched to a new nutrient and thats when your problems began. I recommend this stuff i'm using now - botanicare pure blend pro. It goes for 15$ a quart for each the grow, bloom, and the vitaminish suppliment called liquid karma. I also have clearex for flushing at the end of the crop and it made my buds swell up in the past 3 days like they just got in a fight or something. Every product so far I've used from them has been outstanding. This is just my theory but I think they're the only real competition for advanced nutrients who is the only company to claim that they're products are designed for weed. That may be one other thing to look into.
I really think a better reflector, a fresh bulb, and cool tube would do you justice stevr - as well as getting the light a bit closer as the temps would be better after that. Just some ideas for you. But hey - we're both learning that's for sure. Sorry to hear of the small crops. Also - if it's doable - you might consider purchasing distilled water from the grocery store. It's the purest form of water. Basically rain water minus the air pollution on the way down. Been doing a lot of research on this lately. Perhaps your water quality has decreased? I think I remember you saying your using tap water.
My crop tomorrow is going to be probably a half oz lol. But for 3 little bitty plants I think its ok. Not a very stretchy strain which is surprising for a 50/50 sativa/indica gene plant. Keep the updates up and let me know whats up. Hope all goes well.

well if your dont strech much you might look into soging it mine strech like shit hard to keep her trained hey found out my nutes are fine it was my mother plants i put her in the same tub as a clone and she all ready had root prpublems thats why my ph was out of wack i added some protekit and hyrdron perixed and that helped with my ph proublem and i found out i was screwing up my nutes i was adding back full streng insted of just toppin goff with plain water and then adj the nete streng to where it was before. yeah i am still learning and enoying it every mins of it ohhhhhhhhh i have been useing rain water as much as i can but its the same as my tap water as far as ph and ppm go but am looking into getting a ro unit as well
well its over there bout hung up to dry and all ready replace them with a tomatoes plant we well see how this works out and just replaced the 2 " hole that connects the flowing room to the utialy cab has been inlarge to 4" now got my dryers hose hanging wating on the cool tube sorry about having no pics all out of battrys

Well I got the hydro going now. Just rockin' distilled water plain. I dont even know what the pH is. But I dropped my seedlings in there. My multi-meter shoudl be arriving any day now. Hopefully tomorrow but likely not until monday.
sweet glad to hear you got it up and running... instead of distilled water try rain water i just started doing that tds is 40 ppm and a ph of 6.8 a lot cheaper than disl or RO water hell now that i am stoned off my ass ummmmmmmmmm i will make me a solar still now thats free disrtilled water baby

Distilled water is the purest form of water there is. More clean than rain water. Rain water has polluted air to travel through before it lands vs. distilled water is contained right after it's produced. I bought 7 gallons today at my local grocery store for $5.50. The price isn't too bad, but I guess I can't say yet since I dont know how much water i'll be going through. It's pH 6 right out of the bottle though so I can't complain too much. Should be almost 0 ppm.
well if you want distilled water then make it just make a small stove top still and the best part is when done making water one can make good ole fasion corn wiskey lol just like granddaddy use to make all so a solarstill will be 100% pure water as well . and if your using the same swc i am you will used 3 to 4 gallons a week.. less if you dont change out your nutes each week. i used 2 gallons for my rez mix and a nouter gallong during the week for top off.

Well that's a pretty good idea. I was actually looking into buying a distiller as I don't have the know-how to make something that boils water and the evaporation is collected. I think it would be a lot more work. Most of the distillers I've seen online go for around $100 - $300 and take a couple of hours just to make a gallon. I'm sure the price of water is going to add up fairly quickly though. I intend to use the same water from the beginning until flower, and then from flower to end of course i'll be topping it off too but I think that same time I would change I would use clearex to flush. I'll have to see how it all works.

thanks flucth ,well i just pulled crop before last out of the curing jars and just weight it and i didnt do to bad got 100 grams from 2 plants just a shame i let it flowing to dam long
not as good as i hope but will do till the next crop is done curing fixing to test one now it smells like honey ummmmmmmm thats could be a good thing since i cured em in mason jars that use to have honey in them i am getting closer to a gram a watt but its not real accurate only got postal scale for now.

LOL. That's clever. Rather than using a roach clip, I like to make a fake filter. Just take a strip of paper thats about a ¼" wide and about 4" long. Then roll it up as tight as you can. Then put it in the end of the J and let it go. It should expand and be the perfect size of the J and then you don't ever end up with roaches, just the filter and you could re-use it if you wanted to. But this way your finger tips never get burnt and also it filters it from getting big particles in your drags.
