Yeah, ‘Fins had 3 first rd picks (from the minkah fitzpatrick and laremy tunsil trades) in this past draft, they did a good job tanking for 1 year, got their franchise QB (Tua) and some promising rookie talent. They also have an extra 1st and 2nd rd pick next year, also from the tunsil trade.

Jets will have the Hawks 1st rd picks for the next 2 years (from the jamal adams trade), that was a good deal for them too, theyre going to need to develop talent to give darnold a chance to succeed.

Heh, we have plenty of homeless around here, I can only imagine how many are in Cali, with the good year round weather, some places have tent cities of homeless people.
I see a lot of homeless at busy intersections and highway exit ramps, begging for handouts. Charles barkley calls Michael Jordan cheap because he doesn’t give homeless people money; Jordan replied if you can hold out your hand and say ‘spare anything?’ then you can hold out your hand and say ‘welcome to mcdonalds’. Jordan has a good point, the vast majority of beggars I see are walking and moving just fine, they look like they could work in fast food or retail or amazon. It’s not a great career but at least it’s honest work.

I mean sometimes people or families have a run of bad luck and are homeless but most homeless seem to be mentally ill or have drug problems or both. If they can stay on their meds and pull themselves up from rock bottom they can be contributing members of society; it’s hard work but it’s what 99% of people have to do, unless you were born a trust fund baby.

Desert living is something you have to get used to for sure, pretty much their summer is like Midwest winter: stay indoors as much as possible. And their winter is like our summer, that’s when everybody’s out and enjoying the weather.

i have very little sympathy for the begers i see on the street
here in san diego we have quite a few programs to help the homeless who want help and now the city is even putting them up in municipal buildings
/to the cost of millions to the tax payer not to mention the cost of renovation once they are gone
like i said, my friend lives downtown and you cant walk 5f w/o someone blocking your way, making waste in public or slumped over passed out
some can get very aggressive and im a guy; i cant imagine what its like for a woman, child or someone frail to have to deal with these a'holes
san diego has world class help if you want it, but it coems with a couple simple rules
dont fight/ cause trouble and dont show up shit faced on drugs or liquor are the most basic
its the ones who refuse to follow even those simple rules that you see on the streets mostly
/sorry for the rant my friend
so it looks like another big name veteran rb might be on the market
all day peterson is going to be released by the skins' and i think he is another power back who could help a team take that next step if he can be picked up for a good price
rumor has it kc is interested in him because d.williams is opting out of the season for covid reasons
i would also like to see the bears make a move and think he could help out in chi town
i used to dream about living in the desert but maybe its a better place to visit for me living by the coast
desert season is just around the corner and im sure we will be spending some good times there camping
hope you have a great day and finish off the week strong!

Yep, ive had some pretty bad experiences with beggars, one time years ago I parked on a city street to meet some friends for dinner, didn’t give money to a beggar, he put a ticket on my car and mocked me when I came back to it. Turned out it was a ticket from another car, so that person missed a parking ticket and never knew about it. Another time I refused a beggar, I was unlocking my bike to ride away and he started acting all weird, like skipping towards me and pretending to have some sort of seizure, told him again I didn’t have money, he stopped and I rode away. It’s like, it’s bad enough youre asking strangers for money but then you gotta be a jerk when they tell u no?

Ive had plenty of low skilled jobs in my life, retail, fast food, factory, warehouse. None of them paid much, most of them had pretty crappy bosses, but I never considered begging in the streets instead of working. Maybe if youre in a wheelchair or missing your legs or something then you have an excuse to go panhandling, but even then there’s jobs you can do. At one of the walmarts around me there’s this dude who has cerebral palsy or something, he’s in a wheelchair, can barely talk or use his hands, but he’s a door greeter. Like all these panhandlers in the streets are 20x more capable than him, he couldn’t stock a shelf or work a register or corral shopping carts but at least he’s working. Well, at least he's there; i wonder if his coworkers dont like working with him cause he's so limited in what he can actually do.

But if it was as simple as offering them basic work and housing there would be way less homeless people, ur right, it’s the mental illness and the self medication with drugs and alcohol that keeps them from conforming to the rules of society. On one hand I have sympathy for people who are so pathetic and deep in a hole that they feel they’ll never get out of it, because everyone's been down in life. On the other hand theyre often so unpleasant to be around that I just don’t want to have anything to do with them. I got my own problems and have zero eff’s left to give about people who don’t even care enough about their own lives to pull themselves out of the gutter.

Anywho, lol, AP is 35 and the WFT released him because they wanted to focus on their younger RBs and also run more of a wide open offense whereas AP works best in a power run O with a fullback to block for him. They released him earlier than normal because they want to give him a chance to sign with another team. Not sure if he’d be a good fit in KC, they have Darwin Thompson, a 2nd yr RB, as the backup to Edwards-helaire. Unless AP is content with being 3rd string, but often the 3rd string RB plays on special teams, which he doesn’t do. Im not sure any team will sign him quickly but if covid hits a team hard and they need RB depth im sure he’ll get a call.

I think bears fans would get a kick out of seeing him line up in the bears backfield, after watching him so long in Minnesota, but with David Montgomery and Tarik cohen and even cordarelle Patterson, not sure there’d be many carries left for him. Besides, I don’t think nagy knows what a fullback is, his goal line and 3rd and short offense seems to be 4 or 5 WRs.

i hear you man,we have all lived through some bad times; but you dont let that define you or hold you down for the rest of your life
i guess everyone has the right to live their life the way they choose but dont be a burden to those around you
/ help is out there
we all stared somewhere and work to move ahead; its not easy but one step at a time will take you anywhere
its the aggressive bums that get me upset and i think are the biggest problem
its bad enough that you are laying in your own filth and passed out in public during broad daylight, but now they are acting all mean and frightening good people?
looks like d.watson just sign a big deal to play for the txns
its a 4y deal but i dident see any hard numbers
/im sure he is getting paid
so not a fan of ap?
i think he still has a season left in him and would like to see him churn out a few more yrds

I knew a guy who would call the dirty ass beggars ‘crusties’. He was kind of a dirty hippy himself so him calling other people crusty you knew they were bad, lol. But maybe some of that is an act, have to look the part if youre going to be a beggar. After their shift they go back to their new honda and drive to their 3 bedroom ranch in the burbs

U got some crazy aggressive homeless out there, im not in favor of jail being a good solution generally but violent people, yeah, u need to keep them out of society.
I think the key to getting out of the hole theyre in is just becoming sick and tired of being sick and tired. That’s when they know they need to change their life for the better.

D Watson wanted a shorter term deal than Mahomes, he’s getting about 39-40M/yr for 4 years, so almost as much as mahomes. I think Russell Wilson got 35M/yr just last year, so every year it seems like qb salaries go up 5M/yr. Not a bad job if you can get it.

David Montgomery, the bears #1 RB, is still recovering from a groin injury he suffered a couple weeks ago, he might not be ready for week 1 so AP wouldn’t be a bad spot starter in his place. It’s just hes probably most effective with a TE and fullback, and nagy likes 3 WR, 1TE and 1RB. I don’t think we even have a FB on the team, but he could use an extra TE in a pinch. But ur right, he’s definitely still a useful player.

looks like ap will play another day, the lions just picked him up for the league minimum
/he has some incentives in there that can earn him some extra money
he is #5 on the list of all time rushers, only about 1k yds seperate him from b.sanders at #4
mahomes took a very team friendly deal based on his performance
i would like to think he is looking to win championships so he left the team with some money to build with
/but he is still making something like 100m
they are saying the covid might effect the bottom line and the money teams have to spend will most likely go down this next season so maybe its a good idea to get a deal signed sooner rather than later
i think the problem with most of the bums are they are kept comfortable enough living on the streets that there is little incentive for them to change
especially the ones with mental problems or drug issues
so i happened to talk with my friend the other day, he got a new street bicycle, a pk ripper
its pretty sweet
of course i have to give him shit for living downtown, especially when he tells me stories about the people he comes across
recently he said there was a bum posted up outside his place with a full on karaoke machine and microphone yelling crazy stuff
where do these people get things like a speaker box and mic is beyond me

Lions drafted a RB, Deandre Swift, who got injured early in camp and may not be ready for week 1. Kerryon is set to start but he gets hurt every year, so I guess AP is insurance. He’s overqualified to be a #3 RB, and the lions have a good passing attack with Stafford and Kenny golladay and marvin jones jr, so if he plays a lot he should find more running room than he did with the skins last year (haskins was mostly terrible at QB). Now im thinking the bears missed out, but hopefully Montgomery should be ready by next week. That would be weird if AP plays all season and breaks barry’s rushing total as a lion.

I think mahomes will renegotiate his deal in 5-6 years, he’s got a big cap hit in like 2026 or something so it’s probably in the team’s interest to re-extend at that time.
Ur right, teams are expecting the cap to be 175M next year (down from 200M this year) because of loss of live gate revenue. Im thinking teams over the cap next year (saints, Vikings, etc) will be hard pressed to fit all their players next season. Which is part of the reason why kamara and Dalvin haven’t gotten new contracts this year.

Ur right, if a homeless person has some sort of shelter, even a tent, and food to eat (food pantries, salvation army food trucks) and makes money begging, and theyre content with that lifestyle, then why change? That’s another reason I don’t like giving homeless money, it’s like feeding the pigeons, they’ll never leave if they find a source of food.

the last couple days they have been replaying classic rams game on tv at night!
its been awesome reliving games like the monday night shootout with the chiefs, last night they played the rams v saints playoff game where roby-coleman was not flagged for pi
you can see times where goff played brilliantly and i hope he can step up his game this year
not too much longer to wait for some football
so how did you do in your fantasy draft? what does your roster look like
homelessness is a problem that plagues every country in the world, but everyone deals with it differently
i chose not to visit our offices in india but the stories i heard were third world poor with zero fooks given
maybe if we dident coddle the weak so much people would do more to help themselves
hope you are enjoying your day off brother
this is the working mans holiday

Yeah, that MNF game goff outplayed mahomes for the most part, I think mahomes had a career high 3 ints, goff had fewer tds but less ints. When he’s got a clean pocket he’s really good. We’ll see how they look this year, if the OL struggles again mcvay will probably go 2 TE sets more. With the money theyre paying him, the rams have to hope he gets back to playing at that near-MVP level. Then again, with mahomes and Watson making 40M or more per year, paying goff 32-33/yr might not be that bad even if he’s only good, not great.

I think I did alright in my drafts but we’ll see how it goes, lol. For QB I picked up kyler in one league and Daniel jones & cam newton in another league. In that league where I have jones/newton I also got McCaffrey, he’s usually the 1st overall pick and I had #2 but the first guy picked mahomes, lol. That should only happen in 2QB leagues (and then only maybe) which this one isn’t but I guess he really wanted mahomes?

Yeah, india’s got a ton of people living in poverty, and also a strict caste system which prevents upward mobility. At least in America you can grow up dirt poor but if youre smart and/or hard working you can make a decent to great life for yourself.
I think some people down on their luck genuinely need help, but ur right some people just like to take advantage of the system. And people are complicated, if theyre not feeling motivated they’ll abuse the system, and other times when theyre feeling hopeful they’ll honestly give good effort. In the future as technology increases supposedly poverty and hunger will be eliminated, everyone will be provided basic necessities, but if you want more than that you’ll have to earn it somehow.

I might do a little work around the house today but nothing too much. Maybe watch some sports too, baseball and basketball.
I grilled up a bunch of food yesterday, ill have to post pics soon!

what did you grill baba?
i was going to hit the grill this afternoon but ended up not making it out back
its been hella hot the past few days, like record setting hot here in socal so ive been laying low in the afternoons
i still have the steaks seasoning so i will lay them on the fire tomorrow
we have a roast beef and tonight im probably just going to have some nice sandwiches
scoring run cmc was a big deal! i think he will have another great year and we will see how far he can take carolina
i can see why the other person would pick mahomes, he is definitely the premiere qb in the league, but i guess with the way you guys score your fantasy football leagues he might not rack up the biggest point totals?
we will see how cam fits in to his new system and i think he could have a good year, jones looks like he is up and coming but needs to make better reads and bring down the int#
what defense were you able to pick up?
hope you had a great holiday and enjoying your summer
i cant wait for fall

I grilled a little of everything, hot dogs, burgers, pork steaks, some cuts of beef and pork tenderloin, and smoked a pork butt at the end. Had a bunch of meat that needed cooking and spent a whole afternoon getting it done. Whenever i bother lighting up the cooker i want to cook all the meat i can since it takes a while to clean up the ash, refill and light the charcoal again. Sometimes i wish i had a propane grill, but then i wouldnt get that wood flavor.

i heard about that heat wave, and all the wildfires out there. Crazy stuff, cali is basically melting right now.

Cmc should have better QB play with bridgewater instead of kyle allen, and their defense should still be bad so they'll be pressured to score a lot. I think it'll be hard to repeat his 2019 numbers but if he gets close he should still finish as the #1 overall RB.

Both my leagues are 6pt passing tds, other leagues that only give 4pts for a passing td (but 6 for rush and rec tds) then qb scoring isnt as emphasized. But i think it has more to do with how much more he scores than other qb's, vs how much cmc will score more than other rb's, is why cmc usually goes #1, even in 6pt passing td leagues. Unless mahomes throws for 5k yds and 50 tds again, he's not going to score that much more than jackson or dak or wilson, whereas cmc (or any of the top RBs) will score much more than non elite RBs. QB especially is deep, kyler is projected to break out, matt ryan and stafford and brees are potentially elite, brady and cam could be top 5 guys again, etc. I picked daniel jones because he had three games last season with 4td's in like 12 starts. Ur right, he had way too many fumbles, but most experts think he's stacked with weapons. Saquon, sterling shepard, golden tate, darius slayton evan engram. None of the 3 WRs are elite but theyre all pretty good.

I waited till my last pick for a D, I picked the colts. They play the jags week 1 so that should be a good matchup for them, not sure about the rest of season but they did get deforest buckner from the niners so there's breakout potential. Every year different defenses step up, last year i got the patriots off the waiver wire and they were huge, especially the 1st half of the year.

the colts actually have one of the best up and coming defenses in the league
a lot of youth and they play hard and fast
we will see how rivers fits into a new system, but i think indy is a team to watch
i agree that mahomes probably wont put up numbers like that again this year, but he is by far the top qb in the league right now
he has potential to light things up big time and you never know what he is going to do
i like l.jackson and think he is fun to watch, but mahomes makes some throws that are just wtf
i think brees is elite and matty ice has potential, stafford is not there in my eyes
i like jones and think he could turn the corner this season, plus like you said he has a ton of talent around him
football is right around the corner ani cant wait for the action to begin!!
oh man! sounds like you cooked up a feast on the gril, you are right about how once you get everythign ready you should make the most of it
/not a fan of gas either
i just cooked three ny strips tonight
i was going to cook these garlic wieners we got at this german restaurant/ store last weekend but figured the steaks would be good for tonight and i can fire things back up tomorrow if i wanted to grill up the hot dogs
sounds like you will be eating good for a while man, enjoy every bite

Even if the colts aren't a top 5 defense, i figure theyre a good play for week 1 against the jags. It's a valid strategy to stream defenses that are playing weak offenses; last year picking up the defense playing the steelers or bengals or bears, assuming they were on the waiver wire, would have resulted in decent points.

And hopefully within the first week or so we'll see which D's are really good, like the pats last year, think i picked them after week 2. I think the first month of the season they scored more points on turnovers than they gave up, lol.

Everyone thought mahomes would regress last year after throwing 50 tds the year before, but he started off on fire, like on pace for 48 tds, before spraining his ankle and then dislocating his kneecap. So if anyone is a lock for huge numbers assuming good health it's him. Still, lamar broke his record for fantasy pts last year, with all his rushing stats (1200yds, 7 tds), so im not sure mahomes is that far above every other qb. But that's the great thing about fantasy (or gambling in general) if that you make your picks/bets and see how they turn out...

Ive been sticking to hot dogs lately since theyre easier to cook (already fully cooked) but it's been a while since i had a nice brat or italian sausage, might have to pick some up next time, good idea.

Tomorrow will be texans at chiefs. Chiefs are favored by more than a td but i think the texans can keep it close. Brandin cooks and david johnson are new starters for houston, jj watt is healthy (for now), and deshaun watson is one of the few qb's who can match mahomes throw for throw on a good day. Arrowhead stadium is going to be 1/4 full because of social distancing so that'll be odd to see, for a game like this it should be rocking but it'll seem like a boring game between two terrible teams, there will be so few fans...

are you ready for some football?!?
i cant wait for tonights game to kick off a new season and i hope things go well
you are right about how this should be a great game baba; d.wattson is another top qb with a lot of skills and can light things up at any time
the funny thing is, a lot of times i turn the sound on the tv way down and listen to music while i watch football
some teams will allow fans into the games (at limited capacity) while other wont, so we will see how that looks (sounds)
i tihnk the league has ok'ed piping in crowd noise so it wont be all crickets, but im interested to see how the noise transitions between the home team and the visitors
i like to grill up sausages whenever i fire up the grill
even if i dont eat them up with sourkraut and mustard, i can cut them up and just have grilled sausage
i like to cut them up and add them to pasta
i cant wait for the fun to begin and hope you have a great kickoff my friend!

Even though the KC stadium was at 25% capacity I think there was some decent crowd noise still, maybe that means only 25% of the fans cheered during games?
Ive heard of people during down the tv volume and putting on the radio play by play for a game, but not music. That’s interesting, I can see how that’d be preferable to the boring commentary and commercials.

So this game didn’t end up that close, chiefs were up most of the game, Texans scored a couple tds in garbage time but it wasn’t much of a contest. The one thought I had was, if mitch trubisky is watching this game, he’s seeing the two QBs he was picked ahead of going to make 40M yr soon, and he’s most likely looking at a backup job next year making like 1/10 of what these dudes will make. I’d be kicking myself if I were him. But yknow, it seems like he gave his best effort, he’s just not that good. I do expect him to play pretty well vs the lions, he’s much better vs bad defenses.

I agree, if you take the skin off Italian sausages theyre great in Italian foods, like pasta sauces and pizza. Probably even better than using regular ground beef.

I know this one little food shop with its own butcher, they make some really nice sausages, really meaty and not too expensive, it's been years since i shopped there i might have to check it out again...

even tho it wasnt close i really enjoyed the football game the other night
kc is one of the few stadiums ( two i think), that are allowing fans in and it sounded like they were there for some football
i am still waiting to hear what it sounds like to watch a game where they have no fans in attendance, but can pipe in crowd noise
/i hope they include some of the random crowd noises/ vulgarities
but i also noticed that there was no face coverings on the field (what happened to those masks they were talking about)
plus only certain people had them on on the sidelines
the empty seats had cardboard cutouts in some which was kind of fun
they would have a few shots of fans online when they cut to commercial and i think thats something they should explore more
/a friend is into the wwe, who has been back for a while and they have actual live video of real fans in the background
hope you are getting into game shape and ready for tomorrows action!
me and the mrs are planning a nice hike tonight and have some treats for the trip
im so glad we have football back!!

Bababooey

Horse-toothed Jackass

Yeah, that’s one thing I noticed, none of the players were wearing those full face masks. But so far they’ve been testing players regularly at practice facilities and coming up negative so even without PPE on the field maybe it’ll be ok.
I didn’t really notice games being different without fans/crowd noise, still seemed like regular football to me, but maybe it’s just something I don’t really pay attention to anyway. Or maybe im just getting used to the new normal.

WWE is always fun, it’s like soap opera for guys, haven’t really been into it in close to 20 years though. All the wrestlers I was into are getting older and out of the game, I don’t really know the new guys so much.

Bears had a comeback win vs the lions, trubisky turned it on in the 4th quarter, made some money throws are sucking the first 3 quarters. So maybe he gets to keep his job for one more week.
Tompa Bay didn’t start out great, brady threw 2 picks, one returned for a td. He’ll get better though.

Rams looked good against the cowboys last night, O was moving the ball, malcolm brown looked efficient, Donald looked unblockable unless he was double teamed, even the new color scheme didn’t look terrible. The bright pastel colors really pop on TV, which I guess is the point. And the cards beat the niners yesterday so maybe SF wont dominate the division this year.

what a crazy first day of the new season!
a lot of upsets and we got to see several rookies for the first time
im surprised you dident mention c.akers efforts as a ram
they looked really good with their rb situation, using m.brown for the majority of their packages
/being the most experienced in the system
but akers had a few nice runs and i like the way he finds room
goff looked pretty good and i hope the o'line continues to show up
dallas came close last night but the rams were able to hold on for the win
rivers stank up the field and looked like the same p.rivers that went 5-11 trying to make things happen that just werent there
tompa bay was taken down a notch by the saints, most of their points were in garbage time; brady also threw a couple picks
la cocs actually got a lucky win against the bengals and j.burrow had some pretty nice plays sunday
im so glad we have football back and i dont miss the crowds
it seems there might be a few different sound tracks for the teams to use
the day games were pretty much just a low buzz of crowd noise, basically just cheering and stuff like that
but the sunday night game actually had more variety it seemed like
i liked that you could hear a lot more of the players chatter (big f'bombs and rnadom telling) and the clack of pad on pads
so far the season looks like its off toa great start and i cant wait for more action!
/watching the giants v pitt and am getting ready for the donks later tonight
hope you had a great sunday and were in prime game shape!

How's about that Bears game? They shouldn't have won and they wouldn't have if that guy on the Lions didn't drop the ball at the end.i really don't like Trubisky and can't wait to see what Foles can do.

And Brady well.he did ok.thats all I'm gonna say about him.i think you guys know how I feel.lol
