they mostly do the swab test but there is also a stick test, where they draw blood
72 players is kind of a lot
there are roughly 1760 players in the nfl
/55 roster spots (only 48 are eligible to play) X 32 teams
but this number does not include coaching staff and trainers
maybe once the season starts they will be able to limit their exposure more but you are right about how it will be hard to keep the players cordoned off
im with you and love chips! plain potatoe chips are my favorite but i also like a little flavor on them
/recently got these utz crab chips that taste like old bay seasoning
i also like anything fried
ive had to cut back on the fried foods as i get older and now stick mainly to fries and stuff like that
/we made the crab rangoons last weekend
its the irish in me
speaking of irish, have you heard to this show called the derry girls?
its a show about these high school aged girls who like in ireland during the troubles in n.ireland
/the mrs says its set during the early 90s
the show is a feckin riot and looks at family dynamics, growing up and being irish
its on netflix and your miss might like it
/ive actually gotten into it myself
the bailout money isnt going to the people who need it the most it seems
like you said, a lot of bigger companies have taken more than their share and many of the small fish are just left without
but at the same time, changing state and local regulations are often making it worse
it will take a year to see how it all shakes out but right now the outlook seems pretty negative
hope your week is wrapping up nicely and you have a fun weekend my friend!

Yeah, I forgot about all the staff a football team needs, not only coaches and trainers but equipment managers, cooks, cleaning staff, tech guys, etc. For the nba, each team brought 50 people to Orlando, and only 15 were players, rest were coaches and staff.
With being around 200 people at team HQ, plus playing games against other teams, how is an NFL player supposed to be isolated? I guess at the HQ they can socially distance from staff – coaches and trainers wear masks and such, but still it’s a lot of exposure to people who youre not sure are covid-free.
But some sports are doing it now, Korean baseball, euro soccer, UFC, so it’s not impossible.

There’s a lot of irish in Chicago, pretty much every bar around here is an irish or british style pub with the wood bar and brass accents. A lot of the ones that serve food serve something called irish nachos, which are nachos but instead of tortilla chips they use fries. It’s good, not that anything made with fried potatoes and melted cheese, meat and sour cream can ever be bad.

Thanks for the tip about Derry girls, we’ll give it a shot. It’s got a 100% approval rating on rottentomatoes, which is unheard of.

Ive been looking for a can of crab (sams doesn’t carry any, just tuna) to make my own rangoons, does it have to be crab or could I use fish? I have fish in the freezer but no crab unfortunately.

The US has been issuing a lot of funds to prop up the economy lately, I heard something crazy like of the 7 trillion that the fed reserve has pumped into the economy, about 500 billion went to small and medium size businesses, the rest (6.5 trillion) went to huge corporations and banks. So the rich get richer, and the poor are left to eat their own?

i like my poor people deep fried
i just dont think the country is handling covid the right way and its become too much of a political issue
/it should be a health issue flat out
i think we got our can of crab meat at stater bros, but i bet any grocery has them
fish would be good but a totally different taste
i think you will like the derry girls
its has kind of a pretty in pink vibe but is set in a small irish town, plus the family life is hilarious
each girl is quirky in her own way and fun to watch, plus they have funny sayings and stuff
ufc is easier to manage because its just two people (plus their entourage)
asia seems to be doing it right and europe is managing covid much better than the us
i think as long as the overall population rates for covid are high, then it will be a problem for the nfl
hopefully they will work something out with the players and legal that meets health concerns
it would suck to have no football this year

I hear people are having covid parties for young children, to give them immunity because the health effects aren’t very bad on people with strong immune systems (which young people usually have if they don’t have underlying conditions). Kind of like how back in the day parents would want their kids to contract chicken pox (before there was a vaccine) because that’s something you want as a kid, not as an adult (it could be deadly in adults). But there’s also studies showing that covid antibodies only last for a few months and it’s possible to contact it twice, and/or the virus mutates too.
But even if children aren’t too affected by it, their teachers and other school staff are older, could be high risk (overweight, diabetes, heart issues, etc) and so teacher safety is a big issue around whether schools should re-open this fall…

Yeah, I just need to go to a real grocery store to get some crab. Or I could get that imitation crab from the Asian grocery, they suck compared to real crab but I think that’s what most Chinese takeouts use in their Rangoon, and it tastes alright even if fake.

The woman tends to like shows that feature wealth – nice homes, nice cars, etc. Just stuff she likes to look at, lol. But if it’s funny and interesting she’ll watch it, im just worried about the accents being hard to understand, but that’s what captions are for.

The nfl has issued guidelines for away team travel: no using hotel amenities (pools, fitness centers), restricted movement (no going out to meet friends, etc). So we’ll be seeing more plans coming out on how the league is going to cope with the pandemic. But ur absolutely right, the nature of the game and size of the team is going to make it much harder to control infections than baseball, mma, even soccer. And even if the virus doesn’t affect the players (all fairly young people in great shape) there’s coaches (lot of them older and/or overweight) and staff they need to be worried about. I still think there will be football in some form and fashion, there’s just too much money to be made to cancel everything entirely.

morning baba'! hope your weekend is off to a great start
looks like we were able to find another cap spot but we dont go until august now
the mrs and boy stayed up late finding this spot and we might ust book a few more while we are at it
thats a great point about how the return to school not only places the kids at risk but also the school faculty
i wonder what the plan is is a student tests positive? will they have to close the whole school (most likely)
ive had shingles and it scarred the shit out of me before i knew what was going on
one day i woke up with this crazy pain in my inside
it literally felt like someone was putting out a cigarette on my back and it went deep into my chest
i dident tell anyone for a few days hoping it would go away but it only got worse
/i seriously thought i might have had cancer
i finally broke down and told my mom and the mrs about it and they were stumped until i told the mrs about how it was only on one side and she said it could be shingles
i saw my moms friend who was a doctor and she game me some pain meds and a anti viral medicine and it went away in a few days
the asian market might have real crab in a can too but i bet the K'rab would work well too
if we made it again i would use more crab and put water chestnuts into the mix to add that extra crunch
have a great weekend my man

That’s cool that you were able to reserve another camping spot. Didn’t think it’d be so hard to find a dang place to park and set up a tent but that’s what a pandemic shutdown will do. I should probably try camping myself but it’s the bugs and the heat during the summer im worried about, plus the woman isn’t going to like having to use an outhouse or squat behind a bush, knowwhatimsayin? I guess in socal you can go camping during the winter months, less mosquitos and heat, in the upper Midwest, not so much…

My father in law had shingles a few years ago, after that I told my parents to get the shingles vaccine cause that virus can wreck you, as u found out. Hell, maybe I should get it too. Also, ive been thinking of getting a MMR (measles mumps rubella) vaccine again, ive been reading that it may help protect u from covid as well, or at least make the symptoms less severe. Places like walgreens and sams club offer these vaccines.

Ill definitely pick up some crab and make rangoon and post the pics here, hopefully it’ll work out well. The lazy part of me wants to just throw some chopped up hot dogs in there instead of crab meat, lol, but that would be just too cringe even for me. Or what about chopped up chicken or gyro meat? Or shrimp? Shrimp rangoon sound like they would be ok, right?

So baseball is playing ‘spring training’ games now and will start their season next week. The nfl has released guidelines for when ‘camps’ open at the end of this month. First, no away camps, everything happens at their regular practice facility. Social distancing (6ft) of separation inside the facility, meaning occupancy limits in the weight room, shower, etc. Meetings will be held by video when possible. Players get to go home every night, no ‘bubble’, but at work they have to wear tracking wristbands so if they do contract covid the team can backtrack who they had contact with.
Hopefully these measure will be enough to prevent a covid outbreak but we’ll see how it goes.

morning baba'! hope you are having a great week
here in socal, the winter months are the best time for camping
there are a lot of places out in the desert where you can camp but they are way too hot this time of year
right now you would be looking to camp near the coast or in the mountains
we used to head up to san louis obisbo and camp on the beach, but that was a cheer camp thing
there are places here in san diego where you can camp on the beach but its more like pitching a tent in a parking lot kind of thing
/not my idea of fun
most sites we have been to actually have nice bathrooms, like the kind you would find at a school or nice public park, but i hear you about it not being for everyone
hotdogs would be a fun rangoon, but i would cut it up super fine
maybe spam filling would work out better, that or deviled ham
shrimp would be good too or even like smoked salmon, anything that goes good wtith cream cheese and can be put into a half inch pocket
/about the size of the filling when you use regular won ton wrappers
i saw some baseball highlights the other night
it was a giants game and they had cut outs filling the seats behind home plate
i heard hong kong has suspended their sports for this year because of another outbreak of covid
the nfl has now said they will play the regualr season with no preseason games
i think this was pushed by the nflpa and to me it dosent help the new rookie players
its going to be tough for some of the later draft picks to make the roster with no chance to show the team what you can do
/i heard they might allow teams 80 roster spots in compensation
we will see how it works out but at this point im still kind of 50/50 about a full nfl season being played this year

Yeah, the woman would only be down for camping if we had an rv or camper with a toilet, or like u said someplace with indoor showers and bathrooms. But I hear you, it’s not really camping if there’s too many people or buildings about, you want to get out there, enjoy nature, not hear cars passing by on the road.
I saw a pic the other day on social media about how it was 120+ in death valley, or some town called Furnace something. So yeah, that’s strictly only in the winter type of thing, even a short hike is really unadvisable in that type of heat.

A smoke salmon wonton would be dope, but we’re holding out for the real (or imitation) type of crab. Just need to stop by the right store, which we’ll do eventually, no worries on that front. Ive kept wonton and eggroll wrappers in the fridge for months so if it takes me a while to make them they’ll still be fine.

I hardly watch baseball but ill be excited to see some real games soon, that and the nba. I hope ur wrong and we get a full nfl season, but u have a point, a lot of the smaller college football conferences (ivy, patriot, HBCU) have canceled fall sports, Div 1 football seems set to go but who knows if that will work. NFL teams are also set to report but players are complaining about the face shields (jj watt, Russell Wilson) but if they want to make their millions they’ll learn to deal with it.

U think we’re heading for a 2nd wave of infections/shutdowns? I guess Cali has already started theirs, more stores are adopting nation wide mask only policies. Hopefully we’ll get a handle on new cases but other countries seem to be doing a much better job of it.

i dont know if we ever advanced out of the first stage
maybe we slowed it down which is good news, but covid cases have been on the rise here in california for several months
/i think we set a record for new cases here in san diego the other day
i heard about how a lot of nationwide stores like cvs have adopted a mask policy in all their stores
public policy varies from state to state but we all need to do our part no matter what the experts say
yeah its uncomfortable and different, but if it can help keep one person from being infected its worth it
/i wonder if jj.watt or r.wilson wear a mask when they go otu in public?
im sure you will find the crab of your dreams brother and live happily ever after once you make the rangoons! add some celery and season it well and it will be grinding
you are right about how the won ton wrappers keep well so i might have to get another pack and just keep them around the house
when i was young we would make them with ground beef, kind of like a lumpia
once you make the filling its not that hard to roll up the whole package and its something you and the mrs can do together
we start rolling together but once we have a bunch made i start frying them while the mrs keeps rolling away
/a few sample won tons along the way dont hurt
i think death valley recently set a record for highest temp ever recorded
/i just googled it and its in that place you mentioned called furnace, 134*f
when its that hot you can really do anything outside
that is drop dead weather and if you are lucky you will just get heat stroke
we will see if the season kicks off as planned
im also worried about them being able to play all 16 games
what if someone tests positive mid season, what happens to that team?
/and for that matter, the team they just played?
ive havent really been a baseball fan lately but im hoping its a step foreward for pro sports (kind of like the canary in a coal mine), so im kind of keeping an eye on how things are going
hope you have a great day brother and stay safe

I was masking up since April, and even back then was wearing latex gloves, lol. Ive stopped wearing gloves but do keep hand sanitizer in the car. But lately im just so tired or being masked up all the time, especially outdoors in the heat or if im exerting myself. If the other person has a mask I sometimes wont put mine on, or if it’s people I hang out with regularly sometimes I wont wear one. It’s like, after being so anal about it for almost 4 months, im sick of it, even though it’s really what’s best for my health, and for the health of people around me. But when im in stores or around strangers Im always masked up.

Im interested to see how much the players hate the face shield once contact starts; I think the first couple weeks of camp is ramping up physical activity up to full practices. If a lot of players hate the shields then maybe the league has some other options in the works as far as on field PPE.
The league has already agreed to not have any preseason games, so that’s good, less chances for players to get sick. And with on-field PPE and social distancing in the practice facility and team meetings, then maybe that will be enough to limit the spread of any infections. Im thinking it will be ok, but like u said, it’ll really be put to the test if a team has a bunch of guys test hot.

Baseball has banned high-fives and pitchers cant share rosin bags and have to bring out wet towels if they want to moisten their fingers so they don’t have to resort to licking their fingers after every pitch. With baseball’s history of cheating (I think one active pitcher said like 70% of pitchers use some sort of cheat to put extra spin on the ball) it’s expected they’ll try to hide extra substances on the towel even though the ump is supposed to inspect them.

Its kind of wild that that area is literally the hottest area on the planet, more than the sahara or the middle east or other equatorial climates, but if you think about it the whole southwest is pretty much just all desert, except for the mountains and near the coast. Wasn’t that the plot of the first superman movie, lex Luthor bought a bunch of desert land and wanted to use a nuke to set off the Big One, the earthquake that’ll plunge the cali coast into the pacific. That way, he’d instantly own all the oceanfront property post earthquake? Like anyone would want to live there after 100M people died, but at the time it made sense, that’s trillions of dollars of property value normally.

i never wore the gloves but i think its a good idea if you touch things that are high trafic
/i have this thing about washing my hands a lot when i touch stuff
i hear you about the masks being uncomfortable but you are so right about how when you are around strangers, you mask up
i talked to my friend about this early in covid and we agreed that if either one of use felt sick we would say something
if you are around people you know you are kind of on the honor system to speak up
but the general public is another story
speaking of face shields i saw this lady today with a plastic face shield type mask
it was like a welders helmet but made of thin plastic
i guess that would be enough to get by socially, especially if you arent coughing up a storm or looking all sick
more than a few pitchers made their living off having the right scuff'
/as long as they dont ban the ball fondeling... a guys gotta touch his crotch
i remember growing up hearing about the big one and what it would do to california
i was always hoping we would break off and form our own island
maybe its time to invest in property along arizona bay
/ques tool songs and smokes big hit of hash

I want one of those face shields, seems like it would be easier to breathe in than a mask. Ur right, it’s more of a sneeze shield than a filter, but so long as it restricts most of the droplets coming in and out, it might do the trick.

Heh, in baseball scratching ur genitals is always ok, it’s high-fiving someone afterwards that’s the issue. Not that ur digging for gold in your underwear during a game, it’s all outside the cloth, but reducing physical contact between players is best. I imagine spitting in the clubhouse is banned too, for those who like chewing tobacco or sunflower seeds.

The yanks and nationals opened the MLB season last night, before the game one of the nats star players tested positive for covid, they still played even though the other nats players tests didn’t come back yet (think it takes a day or two to see if anyone else on the team has it). Well, if a bunch of other nats players test hot, and yankees too, that might be the end of the mlb season already.

i used to love to spit seeds! salty goodness with a fun crunch of seed
maybe the players can use a cup or bottle like you would with dip
thats a good point about how the test results often take a day or two to come back
even if they test everyone before the game you have to wait to get the results
im surprised that they still let the player play (even if he was a star)
now both teams need to be tested and should be in quarantine
in some ways base balls schedule makes it interesting because teams usually play at least two if not three games against the same team
so will they let the guy who tested positive play games 2-3?
and should they test both teams before and after the games
football has a more manageable schedule in some ways, with teams playing only once a week
/test players on wed/ thurs so you can get the results back and then tell them to self isolate for a couple days
/not that hard to do with the team traveling together and arriving in the destination city a day or so in advance
so i might have to jump on a new bandwagon this season
i just may become a fan of the washinton football team
im surprised that dan snider caved in but i guess he is just dont with the controversy anymore
/they could actually have a top tier defense this year with the addition of chase young
im sure all the indians on the reservations are holding their head a little higher today
/cant you just smell the unity all across america?
so it looks like gurley is saying he might sit out this season if the league dosent get a solid covid plan in place
im sure his knees would like another year off
hope you are wrapping up your week strong and all set for a great weekend baba'

I never got the hang of eating sunflower seeds with the shell on, there’s a lot of tongue movement involved for what seems not that much reward; there’s like 5x as much shell as there is seed. But I guess it’s more of something to do with ur mouth, like chewing gum or tobacco.

Yeah, there’s way too much spittle and shells on a typical baseball dugout floor for it to be sanitary, I guess in korea the players wear masks when sitting in the dugout, cause they cant maintain 6ft distance? And so they cant really spit anything when masked up of course. Saw a bit of the angels game last night but didn’t pay attention to what they were doing in the dugout.

It was juan soto who tested positive, it happened right before the game so he didn’t play. Supposedly he didn’t have much contact with his teammates beforehand but we’ll see. He’s in quarantine now for at least a week and will need a couple negative tests before being allowed to play.

With the whole BLM gaining universal appeal, and major companies pulling advertising dollars from the team, I don’t think Snyder had much choice in the matter, especially because Wash has been mostly bad since he took over and losing fans and season ticket revenue. I hope they pick a name soon, maybe the Red Wolves? Or the Kraken, like the new Seattle MLS team? How about the Dragons, or the Direwolves, or something fantasy related like that? Too corny?

U make a good point about their D, they’ve spent a lot of 1st rd draft picks on their D-line, like SF the last few years, and Chase Young is supposed to be better than either Bosa brother, so maybe he’s the one to turbocharge that defense. Not sure if the offense is going to be anything special though, at least shanahan the younger was a good offensive coach and running the ball and putting up pts takes pressure off the D. The D-line especially when playing with a 2nd half lead can just pass rush every snap.

Im sure there will be a few players who opt out of this season, the one OL from KC who’s an M.D. has said he wont play, he works as an orderly at a nursing home and would rather do that than play. Other players who might be high risk or have pregnant wives might opt out too.

morning baba'! hope you had a great weekend
the marlins took a big hit this weekend and have postponed their home opener due to covid
i havent taken in all the details but a number of players have tested positive and who knows when they will be able to play
as long as its isolated to the team i guess the rest of the league is safe for now, but what are they going to do about the already scheduled games?
i would be all for the skins taking on a new cool name
/btw, have you ever been to dc? outside a small area the place is a super ghetto
i have a hard time saying blm has garnered universal appeal and in some ways they are playing right into trumps hand with their lawless stupidity
/every ehar the term useful idiots?
riots across the nation will only strengthen his agenda and ensure a backlash from the majority of people who have enough problems of their own to deal with
we see it almost every year with the social justice movement and it always ends the same
/remember the occupy wall street gambit
of course there will always be some people who are better off than others but to say its a racial thing is pure race baiting
american is one of the most tolerant countries in the world; but hey, anything to appease the new generation and be part of the woke crowd
i tihnk the kc lineman who opted out to help the elderly is a noble man
he is turning down millions in future revenue to make a change for the better

sorry for the off topic rant brother and i hope you had a great weekend!

Yeah, heard about that, 4 marlins players tested positive, and they canceled the marlins and philly games tonite (Miami just played philly). Hopefully everyone else tests negative and games can go on, but man, this is just a preview of how football is going to go, isn’t it?

Yeah, DC itself is a typical inner city, I hear 4 blocks from the white house you’d have gangsters shooting at each other. So outside the touristy and rich areas (Georgetown) it’s rough.

I think for the most part the protests have been peaceful, if anything the police seem to be escalating the violence, shooting tear gas and hitting protesters without much if any warning. Plus one of the points of a protest is to get notice and attention, and unfortunately violence gets more attention than peace. My woman’s cousin’s boss had some stores that got looted in the city, it sucked but he applied for insurance claims and he's back to work now fwiw.

I think BLM is a worthy movement, it brings attention to the systemic racism in American society. Chicago is one of the most segregated cities in the country because for decades, from like the 1920’s to the 90’s, mortgage and real estate brokers would discriminate or discourage blacks from buying in white neighborhoods. And before that, going back to post-slavery days, black communities would make progress towards establishing businesses and a strong middle class and neighboring white communities, assisted by the police, would rampage through their neighborhood, killing and burning as they go. This happened in OK and NC, probably others places too.

But I agree that the ‘cancel culture’ of BLM goes too far sometimes. Mike gundy, the football coach at OK State, was accused of using the n-word in the 90’s or late 80’s when he was a college player, and for recently wearing an OAN shirt, a far right news network. The Iowa football program has had to apologize for racially insensitive behavior too. All the accusations seemed either really long ago or insensitive at worst, but if there’s even a sniff of racist behavior from no matter how long in the past it seems people have to suffer for it, which seems too harsh to me.

Jamal adams got traded from the jets to the seahawks for 2 first rd picks, that’s a huge haul for a safety who, even though he’s considered elite, has never been part of an elite defense. But if the hawks think he’s worth it and can take their D to the next level, then maybe he will. Pete carroll is known for being a good DB coach, so maybe adams is the missing piece to the legion of boom part deaux.

i noticed the adams trade and think seattle overpaid giving up two first round picks,( i think there was a player in there too)
but the nfc west is going to be hot this year so i cant blame them for wanting to build the defense
i just hope they dont fall into the win now trap that the rams got themselves into
so i hear j.burrow is still unsigned?!?
under then new pay scale the contracts are pretty much a done deal
what the hell is he thinking? even is there is no season, the signing bonus alone would keep him set
racism is rampant world wide and most parts of the usa are very progressive
/san diego is actually a very diverse city, but we still have our bad areas and racial problems
there will always be bad players on both sides, but i think its a bad look for any reform to allow violence and destruction to be their calling card
in a lot of ways its also about financial inequality and family structure
ive been to places where anyone trying to become someone are seen as sell outs or looked down on
dc was one of the worst places ive ever been
/st louis is right up there
ive never been to chicago, but hear that you dont want to walk too far in a certain direction
/the mrs goes there for buis, and went to her friends wedding there
you cant rewrite history but we can change the future; we all were different people back then
/rant
hope you are having a great week baba

Yeah, it was eye-opening giving up two 1st rounders for a safety, which isn’t considered a premium position in the nfl. Khalil mack (edge rusher) got two first’s, so did laremy tunsil and Jalen ramsey (LT and CB) but a safety?!? One who hasn’t really made any defense he’s been on very good? Of course, with 11 guys, it’s hard for one player, no matter how great, to make them really good, unless youre a QB who has the ball every snap.

But ur right, the nfc west is shaping up to be a monster: niners were in the superbowl, rams were there 2 yrs ago, cards got Hopkins, hawks got adams. Worst record in that division might be 9-7 this season, assuming we have football.

I just read the update on the marlins outbreak and now theyre up to a dozen players/staff testing positive!!! Didn’t know it spread that fast, 2-3 days ago it was just 4 players. Dang, u might be right, we might not have an nfl season Pop. Guys tackling each other, heads close together, huffing and puffing. If one guy has it, he could easily spread it to his team and the opposing team and then it’s game over man.

I think a lot of draft picks are still unsigned? Or at least I haven’t heard of a lot of signings, and with the slow sports news you’d think they’d mention it on espn or something. I think a lot of deals get done before camp though so we’ll be seeing a lot of that coming through the news, unless it gets drowned out with the baseball stuff. But ur right, he should get his cheese before the season goes down the tubes, although if it does get canceled it wont be until we have several outbreaks after games start, imo…

There’s a lot of historical, systemic discrimination that leaves people in bad socio-economic situations, but personal responsibility also plays a big factor. Whatever color u are, even if you grew up disadvantaged in this country, if youre not a moron and can be hardworking and disciplined you can make a good life for yourself, whether you become a white collar or professional or blue collar you can pull yourself up to at least middle class if not more. But if you put zero effort into improving yourself or your career, then zero return is what youre going to get.

The south and west sides of Chicago are known for a lot of shootings and gang violence, but it’s funny I lived on the north side, a mile north of Wrigley field and there were 2 street gangs in my hood that were at war with each other, saw a dead body once (covered by a sheet from the police) heard gunshots from my deck once. Kind of crazy but what can you do? J

so it looks like j.burrow signed his rookie deal
i read an article the other day and i think there were only like a handful of top picks who still have not signed tey
/one was in the top-10 and the other was a low first rounder i think
but even if there is no season it would be a smart move to lock in the money now while they can
i cant wait to see the az offense
even with out a lot of practice, i think nuks it top tier and will add a lot to the air attack
i dont think it will take too much for him and the mighty mouse to get on the same page and they should come out of the gate hot
unfortunately, i dont agree with you call about the worst team in the west will be 9-7
unless goff is able to steps his game up biggly, the rams will struggle to go 8-8
now i hear the orioles are in the mix up too and might be considered infected
the nfl has the advantage of being able to test on thursdays lets say, or at least two days before every scheduled game some maybe that will help curb infections, but it just takes one team to have an outbreak and the rest are like dominoes
/plus what would the season be like if a team could not finish their season because of covid?
gangs are every where, but the ones in chicago are the big timers
ive seen more than my share of violence and death, but gang violence is especially senseless
in addition it also infects a community where anyone with any hope jumps at their chance to get away
that leaves just an empty shell of a community where all there is is violence and misery
i dont know if there is an answer, because you cant make people change if they dont want to
all you can do i hope for a better future i guess
that and football, man i hope we get football this year

Yeah, it seems like most draftees should have signed their rookie deal by now with camp starting soon. I usually check the sports news everyday but with covid there’s been so little of it coming out that I probably just missed all the signings, not that it’s a big deal, like u said the money is pretty much set to be a certain amount based on your draft slot. Unless youre the chargers and try to haggle with your 1st rounder like they did with bosa few years ago; granted it wasn’t over the money just what happens if he gets injured.

Kyler murray is a low key dark horse mvp candidate. Like mahomes and Jackson the last 2 years, he’s a 2nd year QB with some unique skills and talent around him. Nuk and Fitz are going to complement each other well, and Kenyan drake could be a top 7-8 RB now that David johnson is gone. Personally I’d go with mahomes repeating as mvp, or even Jackson, but I’d pick up kyler with a late round pick in my fantasy drafts, he’s got top 5 potential.

Rams are… well if they get the O-Line right I think Goff and the offense will be top 5 again, last year they were top 10 in both yards and pts but ur right, they didn’t have that flow like they did in their superbowl year. Im interested to see who will step up at RB, cam akers could be a workhorse stud. The D will have a new coordinator, and ramsey should be playing his ass off this season since he wants a new contract. And aaron Donald is still the best DL in the game (sorry Mack!) although maybe myles garrett could challenge him this year. With some luck, good health and young players who expand their game, they could be an 11 win team again easy, but they could also struggle to .500 like u said.

U make a good point that in football, with games only once a week, as opposed to baseball where there’s 5-6 games a week, there’s way less opportunities for opposing teams to infect each other, especially if they make sure everybody’s clean before gametime. Maybe they just need to quarantine 2 days before the game, get the team set up in a hotel beforehand so theyre not contacting anyone till gametime.

The weird thing is that gangs are now beefing with each other on social media, and that leads to shootings on the streets. Not sure why it has to lead to gun play, back in the day if guys had problems with each other you’d just duke it out with fists, way less chance of killing someone or hurting a bystander. Doesn’t make sense but it’s a whole different lifestyle. But supposedly when the cops sent a bunch of major gang leaders to prison in the 70s and 80s, then the big gangs got all fractured, now every block has their own version of the gangster disciples, insane vicelords, black p-stones, etc etc, and theyre all beefing with each other, even ones under the same general umbrella. It’s like when the US took out saddam and thousands of Iraqis were getting killed every week or month, yeah saddam was a major a-hole but he was also the only mothereffer who kept everything under relative control. It’s those unintended consequences, where u think youre doing something good by taking out the big bad guy but turns out he was the only one keeping all the little bad guys from killing everyone.
