a lot of tiem eating is a social thing
i like a big juicy burger as much as the next guy but you dont want to be the messy marvin in the group
we went to visit a friend over the weekend and he lives near a place that was on triple-d
i asked the mrs if she wanted to drop in and get it to go but she said it was someplace she wanted to go to and sit inside
even tho things are starting to reopen now, i cant say i trust the state and figure i need to look out for myself
/we are both kind of sketched about dine in right now and get most of our food to go
im starting to wonder if we will see any football this year
with the rules regarding social distancing, plus the need for constant testing to keep everyone safe it just looks like there are too many parts that can go wrong
you make a great point about half the league is strong young men in the prime of health while the coaching staff/ trainers are usually a little older
even if they arent infecting team mates, they have lives outside the game and could bring that shit home to their families
there is a huge liability for the nfl and i dont think they can go ahead with a season in any form without some kind of waver
hope you had a great weekend man, did you do anything

Yeah, it's not that great of a look to eat a really messy sandwich in front of a bunch of coworkers or friends, im pretty self conscious about stuff on my face, chewing with my mouth closed, etc. But if everyone is eating messy it's not as much of an issue.

Didnt do too much over the weekend, actually, it was off and on raining and quite hot and humid so couldnt do anything outdoors really. Now it's pretty cool and less humid for the next few days, so that'll be nice.

We've gotten a lot of take out too and it's nice to see restaurant workers wearing masks and gloves but also u think the food is safe? Who knows how they cooked/handled it back in the kitchen, some dude in a hot kitchen, not wearing PPE cause it's too sweaty, coughing or sneezing on ur lettuce or such? Makes me shudder to think about it, but u have to hope that wasnt the case...

All the sports leagues are going to have players/coaches sign covid liability waivers, but ur right, it's coaches over 60 that have the most to worry about. There are 3 NBA coaches over 65 and there was some concern that the league didnt want them on the sideline during games, which the coaches union was ready to litigate over. For the NFL an older coach can maybe coach from a skybox so less of an issue there.

The NFL has oakley working on some full face shield designs for the helmets, i guess oakley has done work for the military on non-fogging sunglasses and such. But even with a full face shield the air can still escape around the bottom of the helmet so won't be completely breathe-proof...

i guess you are kind of taking your chances anytime you get food you dident make yourself
but that was always the case in some ways
/you hoped the people in the kitchen werent all gross and contaminating your food and washed their hands
i have a friend who will not eat anything his wife dident make, he dosent participate in the pot lucks at work or go out to eat at all
/pot lucks are probably done now at work and our dept was known to host some of the best ones
looks like dak signed his franchise tagged contract and will be paid this coming season
there is also a piece on pft about how the league should allow for two pre season games, one home and one away, to give teams a chance to rehearse their covid protocol before the real season starts
we will see what happens but im hoping we get football this year
that sucks that it was rainy in your area, this weekend was the summer solstice
when does the heat begin for you guys?

I think with food that is cooked you don't have to be so careful in the prep, because it's about to go in a hot oven or pan and any germs/viruses on it will be cooked off. But after it comes out and is plated or boxed, if it needs any garnishes or things like that, that person has to be wearing gloves and mask. The person handing you the food at the takeout is always wearing PPE, but u usually dont see the person who actually made it, unless it's a fast casual type of place like chipotle where it's all laid out in front of you.
Dak was always going to sign his franchise tender because getting paid 2M per game is too much to miss out on, especially when he was making like 1M per SEASON before that. Also, with the covid stuff negatively affecting league revenues (fan attendance, etc) he wants to get that cheddar before they start reducing player salaries.
Yeah, the preseason should be able to work out the kinks in the covid protocol, is it this year that we have 17 reg season games or does that start next year? Also, college starts a week or two earlier than the nfl so the league might take some lessons from that.
The weather in the midwest is always kind of nutty, usually the heat starts in May and lasts till Aug or Sept, but this year it didnt get warm till June and even in june we had a stretch where it was 60's (50's at night), felt like fall weather. July and Aug should be hot, usually.
Here's some pics of the gyro's I was making at home. The meat and the pita bread we got at Sam's, I also added some yogurt-marinated chicken that I made to the mix. Homemade tzatziki sauce (greek yogurt, garlic powder, diced up dill pickles, lemon juice, salt), tomato slices and sweet onion slices. Crinkle cut fries cooked in the air fryer. Just as good as you get at the gyro place if i do say so myself, for about 1/5 the cost.

I also made some chicken gyros, with the yogurt marinated chicken, it's a little bit healthier, not as greasy.

damn right just as good as the take out joint! those plates look grinding
im going to have to step up my search for the premade gyro meat
we get those flat breads all of the time and the yogurt sauce is super easy to make
there is another white sauce we get at the middle eastern market thats like a garlic and ??? sauce
the last time we went i used almost half a bottle and made sure to take some home for later
im a big fan of crinkle cut fries but ive been making my own wedge fries at home lately
i have this apple corer thing that cuts an apple into several( i think 8) segments and leaves a round "core" in the middle
fry those up
/i like to use the golden potatoes for this
so it looks like zeke might have tested positive for covid
there are still a lot of questions re: the new season but im hearing baseball is going to plan on reopening at the end of july
thats a big step in the right direction
keep on kicking ass my man! im headed to the fridge for a snack

Yeah, it's not often that the stuff i make at home is just as good as decent restaurant quality, but this gyro was. Mostly if it falls short, it's cause im lacking some of the ingredients (lettuce for burgers, etc).
I think i know what you mean, that tahini sauce at middle eastern joints. I think the more americanized ones mix the tahini with mayo and other ingredients, so it's creamier and thicker, regular tahini is kind of watery. It's hella good tho, there's this famous shwarma place that started at a NY food cart called Halal Brothers, they expanded to the midwest a few years ago, ive been to their place in the chicago burbs and it was good, meat was a bit dryer than i like tho, it's one of those fast casual places where the food is all ready to go but it wasnt that busy so maybe that mound of meat was a little older than it should be.

picture.php

But they offer the white sauce which some people say is addicting, and it was very good, definitely helped with the dry meat. Their red sauce is super spicy, the guy asked how many 'lines' i wanted on the plate, he draws lines back and forth with a squeeze bottle, i said 3 and even that was almost too much hot sauce.

picture.php

I was making hand cut fries this past winter also, sometimes with the golden potatoes (softer and buttery compared to russets) and cutting them into wedges with a knife, using an apple corer sounds like a good life hack. We dont have a range hood or fan in our kitchen tho so i try not to deep fry too much or sear meats or cook fish, anything that will leave too much odor indoors, even when i crack a window and put a fan in it it still takes a while to clear the air.
Zeke said he was short of breath and had a cough for a couple days but is better now, sounds like most athletes arent suffering too much from covid if they got it, but if theyre around family or friends that are older or have asthma or immuno-compromised then that could definitely turn out bad. We'll see how baseball goes, korean baseball is doing well managing the virus, of course baseball u dont have nearly the physical contact u do with football or basketball...

im not surprised that korean baseball is coming back
the asian nations are managing the virus a lot better than domestically
if youve ever traveled in the far east you would have noticed that hey were wearing masks long before covid or even sars
/its considered impolite to infect other and the air is rank in a lot of the bigger cities
i think they are having a horse race or something like that in the us soon and saying there will be fans so hopefully football will be on track
i hear the nfl will allow fans but they will cordon off the first several rows
to make up for the lost revenue they are going to allow local comercials to be displayed on these seat, like with a green screen
those plates look awesome baba', do they have bell peppers on them
/one of my favorite two topping pizzas is gyro meat with peppers from a ny style joint we liek
the sauce im thinking of is way different than a taziki, its straight up garlic and creamy dreamy goodness
here is a link of the place we like to go to for the grinds
https://northparkproducepoway.com/
its like an independent grocery store with a restaurant attached to it and its filled with people drinking chai and chilling out
/if it wasnt for the smoking bans i could totally see this being a place where dudes would come to smoke hooka
most of the people are middle eastern and we have seen people order huge orders to go
/one lady came in and literally walked out with a shopping cart full of take out containers
hope you are having a great week and ready for the weekend!

Yeah, ive seen video where even without pandemics you'll see people in asia walking around with surgical masks on, sometimes ill see it in chicago's chinatown also. Made me wonder if those people were sick, or just didnt want to get sick from other people (immuno compromised or something - on chemotherapy, or have hepatitis, etc). But yeah, if wearing masks is culturally normal, then a society is much better able to handle a pandemic when it comes.

Yeah, some teams are getting creative with the social distancing. SF giants are not going to allow fans in their stadium, but season ticket holders and regular folks who pay $100 can have a picture of themselves set up in the empty seats, lol. TX rangers are going to allow half the # of fans in their stadium. Strange how covid precautions are sort of divided along party lines (blue vs red states), but i guess everything has to be politicized nowadays.

There were diced up onions and green peppers in the plate, tomatoes and lettuce too, so made for a nice well-rounded meal. I think ur right about the sauce, that place you posted the link to has separate garlic, tahini and tzatiki sauces, as well as a hot sauce. Halal Bros just calls theirs a white sauce, not sure what's in it but wouldnt be surprised if tahini was a minor ingredient. But it's part of what made them so popular, the food itself is good too but that sauce is like crack, keeps 'em coming back for more.
But ur place has great looking food as well, and pretty well priced for socal, especially if the portion sizes are large. Have u ever tried making ur own mediterrean or middle eastern dishes at home? Ive made hummus once or twice, and i dont think falafel is hard to make either...

morning brother! hope your weekend is off to a great start
i saw that thing about the sf giants letting fans fill the stands with selfies
a lady i work with husbands is a huge giants fan and is going to do that
sounds like a fun idea but i wonder what about the other seats, will they just leave those seats empty or they could let local people post pics, like a contest for best selfie if the week
there is a divide between people who take covid seriously and those who dont
/i hear in some palces they arent really enforcing the face covering here
but you are right about how its so politically divided
thats what they want; the media seems to focus on some states more than others; right now california ( a very blue state) having huge increases in cases
you bet we make out own med food, and sometimes we get creative if we dont have all the ingredients
the other day the mrs substituted peanut butter in the hummus! instead of the (ground nut mix; the name of the sauce escapes me right now)
it was bomb and a little sweeter but super creamy
the first tiem i tried to make falafel it came out great but ive never been able to get it right since; it alwasy falls apart in the oil
but you just buy that flat bread like you do and its on; ive even made middle eastern pizzas with those in the oven

have a great weekend my man!

Yeah, not sure what SF will do if they dont have pics to fill the other seats, if they just give them out free in a contest then wont the people who paid money feel cheated? Maybe theyll fill them with sex dolls, like that one korean baseball team did and got in trouble for it.

U excited about the 60 game MLB season? With that few games, we could have some big surprises in who makes the playoffs. Dodgers are expected to be good of course but the padres have some young talent that could make some noise if they start off hot.

Im seeing a bunch of vids about people getting into arguments about wearing masks indoors. Im getting pretty tired of wearing masks too but hell, it's for my safety, not just other people's safety.

The ground nut mix in hummus is tahini, it's a paste made from sesame seeds. I dont find it that appetizing by itself, it's a little bitter, but it's decent on middle eastern food. Peanut butter in hummus? Sounds trippy, but you'd be surprised what strange tweaks can do to a recipe. Portillo's makes a chocolate cake with mayo, sounds gross but people love it, ive had it too and it's very moist and not mayo-ey at all.

Never thought of using a pita to make a pizza but that's dope, think ive seen such recipes online before. The woman bought some asiago bagels at costco recently and we made a few pizza bagels with that, was pretty good but the bagels got moldy quick on the counter, i guess they dont have any preservatives so u have to refrigerate those bad boys if youre not going to eat them quick.

growing up we used to make pizza out of toasted bread and tomatoe sauce
bagel pizzas are dank
the tahinni is kind of bitter on its own but the mrs insists that we have it for the hummus
the peanut butter was really good and at first i couldent quite put my finger on what was different
you are so right baout some hacks being straingely tasty
the mrs makes these grilled cheese with mayo instead of buttered bread and they are amazing
she spreads the mayo on both sides then fries them in a pan and they toast up nicely
sometimes its a little rich
so looks like cam newton is officially a patriot! what a move
i dont see him playing in ne long term but this is a big move for both the pats and cam
as long as he is healthy he can take them to a decent season and buys the patriots an extra year to find a new qb that fits belichicks system
if cam can modify his game a bit to be more of a system player he could actually excel
a 60g baseball season sounds great and it shakes things up a bit for baseball
a hot start is crucial but it will be interesting to see who gets out of the gate the fasest
i also hear they are giving a free man that starts the inning on 2nd base in extra innings to hopefully speed the game up
/especially nice here in the west coast where games can go until after midnight
masks are no fun but they are better than nothing
im still trying to find the right mask for me and i may end up just sysling through a bunch of masks to change it up
hope your week is off to a great start
do you have any plans for the 4rth?

Never tried the pizza bread trick, did u at least use cheese? American even? Even today, when i make some spaghetti, i'll often make garlic bread out of sliced white bread (or even hamburger buns if thats all i have), butter and garlic powder. Works like a charm even if it's not authentic.
The pizza bagels worked better than i expected, especially when i added a little meat to the toppings, cept i wish i had real mozz for cheese (ended up using american slices instead). Got the idea from the woman's friend, who often makes them for her kid.
Mayo is basically egg and oil whipped together, so not surprising that it would make a good grilled bread. I might have to try that. Also i wonder if mixing it into a baked mac and cheese would work well: some recipes use sour cream or ricotta cheese to add richness to the dish.
Speaking of mayo, u ever think of trying to replicate that garlic white sauce they make at the middle eastern place u go to? I bet you could find some good copycat recipes for that online. The secret ingredient might be a touch of MSG.

I was wondering what u thought of the newton signing. Pretty much everyone agrees if he's fully healthy he'll be really good for that team. I think belichick and mcdaniels (the OC) are better than most at switching up offensive schemes to suit their players, and theyve never had a QB who could run like newton. Jacoby brissett started one game when brady was suspended and garrapollo was injured, and he ran for a 25yd td on a designed run. Cam especially is dangerous at the goal line, where he's so hard to bring down. I feel sorry for the other afc east teams, who thought maybe this would be their year, especially buffalo, but if Cam can be a top 10-12 QB again, with that NE defense, they'll probably win 12+ games again.

That free baserunner in extra innings sounds dope, also the NL is going to adopt the DH this season as well. Wonder if theyll make it permanent afterwards? But that's good for the cubs, we wont have to see kyle schwarber try to play the outfield again. Always an adventure trying to see him track down balls at the wall.
Do west coast games start that late? I always figured they start at 7pm PST, which would mean a 10pm EST start so it's those east coast viewers that have to stay up past midnite to finish those west coast games.

I see people wearing those neck gaiters, which seems to me pretty convenient, just pull it up over ur face when u need it, and pull it down when u dont. Isnt that what you had? Is it too hot to wear around ur neck all the time, especially in summer?
No plans for the 4th, but ive been hearing people light fireworks off in my hood lately, so u know the kids are gearing up for it...

i wish we could get fireworks here in california
you can still get sparklers i guess or maybe those ash snakes, but nothing good that goes bang or lights up the sky
last year my friends neighbors had thier own impromptu firework show that was actually really good if you dident mind small explosives going off outside your house
we went to his brothers house to watch the community show and noticed that there were more fireworks going off a half mile away
i think most padres games had a 7.05p start time so they usually got out before 10p
but you would have games that went into extra innings and lasted all night it seemed
im all for the dh in both leagues and i think its a good thing for baseball
now aging players can extend their careers and hopefully we will see more dingers overall
/thats what the fans want
im still working on finding the best mask but in some ways i doubt there is the holy grail of masks
i have a few gaiters, the ones i wear camping are a thicker material and get kind of hot
they gave me a couple at work and those are lighter but i have this xl sized head
the gaiters they gave me at work are a lot thinner and are more comfortable, but i still feel like its smooshing my nose
ive also tried those ones that have the ear loops, and today i wore this paper mask with loops that wasnt half bad
we would use sandwich cheese for the bread pizzas or the orange cheese if we had it
i bet adding mayo to mac and cheese would be really good!
it adds a nice creamyness without taking over the cheese flavor
i bet i could replicate the persian garlic sauce
its probably yogurt and garlic with some other spices in it, plus msg
stater bros have their fried chicken on sale, eight pieces for like 6$! we are going to get a bunch and maybe score a couple boxes for the weekend too
i think new england scored landing c'boogie
they paid next to nothing for him and he is head and shoulders above their other options
plus like you said, he has tons of upside
they could even franchise tag him if he really blew up and get two years out of him before having to show him the money
for cam, he gets a chance to show hes healthy and can still play like the former top pick he was in a system built to win

Heh, yeah Cali takes everything fun away. Well, everything fun and potentially dangerous at least. IL does the same too but I went up to WI a couple times to get bigger fireworks, and I think in Indiana u could get the big boomers, like ¼ sticks of dynamite, once upon a time. Isnt that what Jason pierre-paul used to blow off part of his hand? He’s still playing pretty well despite that.

I know what you mean about those long ass games where they go over 12 innings, there have been a few over 15 innings and those take like 5 hrs. I know MLB tried speeding up the pace, making pitchers and batters work faster, but that only shaved like 10-15 mins off an avg game. Batters have their whole ritual they go through, wagging the bat, fussing with their gloves, and pitchers are just as bad, rubbing the ball, grabbing the rosin bag, keeping runners on base, etc. That’s why I can never watch a whole ball game anymore, but they are good tv to keep on in the background while im doing other stuff.
Yep, baseball is all about strikeouts and home runs nowadays. What happened to the moneyball era where walks and OBP were king?

Face coverings are a pain for sure, it might not be so bad in the winter but dang if wearing one in high heat and humidity aint annoying as hell. And yeah, having to wear one at work for hours every day would just be maddening. I guess doctors and nurses have to be gloved and masked up in operating rooms and such but don’t they keep those rooms super cold? Also if you work in clean rooms like where they make computer chips you have to wear PPE too but those rooms are probably kept really cold too. I just cant breathe if it’s too hot and im wearing a damn mask.

Halal White Sauce Recipe

Total Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 1 ½ cups
INGREDIENTS:

1 cup mayonnaise (try to find one made of only egg yolks, not whole eggs)
¼ cup water
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
¼ teaspoon ground caraway
¼ teaspoon ground sumac
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
Just a sprinkle of ground turmeric
Pinch of xanthan gum
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Whisk mayonnaise, water, and lemon juice together until smooth and no lumps appear.
Add caraway, sumac, cardamom, and turmeric; stir until combined.
Add xanthan gum and mix until it thickens slightly.
Add black pepper to taste.
Store in the refrigerator. Use liberally.

This is one copycat recipe of the halal bros white sauce from thrillist that looks pretty authentic. It’s mostly mayo, and has some middle eastern spices that most people probably don’t carry, and xanthan gum. Ive heard of it, and it’s probably readily accessible online or in specialty stores, but who really has xanthan gum in their kitchen? Still, if I ever get into making my own arabian eats (that yogurt marinated chicken I made recently was a good start, just need to make that yellow rice), I might try to recreate that sauce.

$6 for an 8 pc is a great deal! There's a grocery chain here called jewel-osco that sells fried chicken in their deli, on mondays it's $6 for an 8 pc and it's honestly just as good as kfc or popeyes imo. U can also upgrade it to a meal with 2 sides and a pack of hawaiian rolls for like $4 more, the slaw, potato salad and macaroni salad are good but i really dig their potato wedges.

Yup, cam (c boogie is a great nickname btw!) is limited to 7.5M max if he meets all his incentives, otherwise he’s just on a vet minimum, so if he sucks or gets hurt again theyre not on the hook for much. Whereas the bears, in their infinite wisdom, gave up a 4th rd draft pick (not very high but still plenty of good players can be had in that rd) and guaranteed 20M (over 3 yrs) to nick foles. Now if foles plays very well that’s a cheap price for a good starter but I think he can opt out after a year or two so it’s not like the bears locked him in either. But if he’s strictly high end backup QB material that’s about the going rate I guess. Still, I know a lot of bears fans would rather have had cam at a vet min with incentives and no draft pick compensation given up. Ah well, it’ll be interesting to see how he meshes with the pats and belichick. He shows more emotion on the field than a typical belichick player, but as long as he’s making plays and winning I think bill will be more than happy.

that looks like a good recipe baba'! thanks for posting it
xanthan gum is basically used as a thickener, so you could probably substitute something like pectin or a starch
but things like caraway seed and sumac, thats getting really exotic!
maybe you could use that 7 spices blend they have to give it that middle eastern kick but it would be fun to try the real deal
you are so right about how baseball is a great background feature; like interesting enough to keep you turning your head, but you arent fully invested in the action
what mask do you like?
i just got a new bunch of those washable black masks with ear loops, but it turns out they are kind of small in the face covering part
/remember when i said i have this big head?
none of them really feel good, but some suck less than others
i figure i will just keep rotating through my masks for now
even if cam can top out his paycheck, he is still making back up/ 4th year rookie type money
thats some good value for a former #1 pick; fwiw, i like cam and enjoy watching him play
you are right, jpp did blow off part of his hand with a firework
/i think tampa bay is going to be interesting to watch this season
i was actually hoping your bears would sign c'boogy; he would have be a perfect fit and taken them to the next level
plus he is playing for cheap and if he is half what he was before thats a deal

Yeah, a well stocked grocery probably has a hundred different spices but not sure if they’d carry middle eastern ones beyond the more common ones like turmeric. Xanthan gum is, I think, used a lot in gluten free baking to add stickiness (or like u said, thickening) so u’ll probably be able to find it in whole foods or health food stores, maybe even the health food section of a regular grocery. But Chicago has some middle eastern and Indian groceries that should carry sumac and caraway, and if nothing else amazon or online stores will definitely have it.

Honestly with baseball I feel like listening to it on the radio, even though that’s super old-school, is almost the same as keeping it on the tv in the background. Cept of course if you have DVR, and if an exciting play happens you can rewind it, but otherwise a baseball game on the radio is pretty relaxing to me.

I prefer thinner, disposable type masks, even though I often re-use them (not good I know), but once I start sweating and the humidity from my breath gets into them, the material gets wet and it’s like im trying to breathe through a sponge. Just ugh. I’d almost prefer some type of plastic face shield instead, although those look like they’d fog up plenty too.

I think the reason the bears (and every other team until the pats a couple days ago) didn’t sign cam was uncertainty over his health, and covid preventing him from working out for teams and team docs checking out his foot and shoulder. Also, foles played under matt nagy and bill lazor (OC) with the eagles and KC, so he was familiar to them and the plays they like to run. And that might be especially important without minicamps to learn a new offense.
It’s uncertain if cam has a no franchise tag option on his 1yr deal with the pats; if so, if he balls out this year he’ll be able to hit the market and get a nice fat contract worth 25M+/yr. He might even resign with the pats, who are projected to have 80M in cap room in 2021 (but had very little this season, hence the min deal for cam).

i agree that cams ability to play was a top concern for most teams but im sure there is offset language in his new contract that he must pass a physical with the patriots for the deal to be valid
im kind of on the fence if the pats are looking at cam as more than a bridge qb; most likely they play him one (year) and done
/unless like you said he totally balls out
hopefully foles will be packing full wood when he shows up to play for the bears and you are so right about prior knowledge of the system being a big plus, especially now
but he will still need reps to get his timing down
no ota and mini camps will actually hurt the mid/lower level draft picks the most
without the time to spend working out with the team it will be hard for the young players to show off what they can do and learn what they need to improve on to make it in the nfl
i like the thinner masks too and as the temps warm up i think they will be the way to go
i kind of rotate between the behind the ear loop masks and the gaitors, with the occasional bandanna thrown in
we have a bunch of indian/ middle eastern markets here in san diego too
i guess thats a nice thing about living near a big city; they usually have a very diverse ethnic population
me and the mrs will hit up the indian market once in a while to get spices plus pre packaged foods for super cheap compared to what they would cost in the major grocery stores
hope you are wrapping up your week strong brother and all set for a great 4rth of july
got any plans for fireworks? what about cooking out

I heard Cam did have some sort of physical back in march, organized by the panthers, when they were still looking to trade him before eventually releasing him. But I guess without having the ability to work out individually for teams and get examined by their doctors that it still hurt his free agency prospects, plus there really weren’t that many starting jobs available, with so many teams committed to their young QBs (bengals, fins, bolts all drafted QBs), u really don’t want to bring in a potential star to take opportunities away from the guy youre trying to develop.

It turns out cam can be franchise tagged next year, so if he’s back to form the pats can tag him for like 30M next year, like Dak. Or sign him to a long term deal. He’s still only 31, so he could easily be elite for the next 5-6 yrs assuming good health. In that case they might trade jarrett Stidham, who was their QB of the future. Kind of sucks that another (possible) mvp-caliber QB just falls into the patriot's lap, but we'll see how it goes.

It’ll be interesting to see how it works out in camp between trubisky and foles. I think it’ll be mitch starting week 1, and foles coming in if trubisky isn’t putting up points, which lets be honest, is very likely, especially against good defenses. Im fully expecting the trubisky era to end after this year.

There’s a big south Asian market here called patel bros, they have a few locations around Chicago, haven’t been in one recently but they had a lot of stuff. Might be time to check it out again, especially if they have a deli or something were I can get some prepared food. Or if not, like u said, some pre-packaged food for a good price.

I haven’t been into fireworks in years though I do enjoy a good show, I just don’t like dealing with all the traffic and crowds to get a good seat. But a cookout sounds like a good idea, haven’t fired up the charcoal in a while…

i think you are right about the lack of openings for cam with a lot of emerging talent at qb
if he dident sign with the pats, he would have had to sit out until someone needed a replacement qb (whenever that would be)
i guess we will have to wait and see what happens to trubiski
hopefully he can learn a thing or two from foles and his presence lights a fire under his ass
i love everything about the 4rth, from the food to the action man!i am all about fireworks and enjoying a nice summer night outside
i like checking out the different things the ethnic markets stock
at the local indian market (patel sounds indian) they have a huge variety of spices plus they are super cheap compared to what you would spend in the regular stores
we usually get a bunch of the prepackages things and make a variety meal like you would get at an indian restaurant but for like a fraction of the cost
/if you can try some of these things called samosas, they are these things like rangoons but filled with spices and bean mix
hope you have a great weekend my man and enjoy your long weekend

Eh, we’ve seen 2.75 seasons from Mitch, at this point he’s a bottom five passer in the league. I thought with some more experience (he only started one year in college) he’d get better but last year was confirmation that he’s just not that good, accuracy is way inconsistent and like you mentioned before, he takes a long time to make his reads. I mean, MAYBE he’ll turn it around this year but I don’t think theres much precedent for a pretty bad QB to suddenly become good.

Yeah, people were thinking cam was going to wait till some team’s starter got hurt and they wanted to bring in someone with more upside than their regular backup; of course that situation would have been rough for him, coming in and trying to learn the playbook and receivers in a week or two.

Maybe im wrong about this, but didn’t it seem like 5-10 yrs ago there was a dearth of franchise QBs in the nfl? Now it seems like most teams have one, or at least are in the process of developing one (jury’s still out on guys like Mayfield, darnold, josh allen, etc). And the very worst teams with bad qb’s usually end up getting one in the draft, theyre not going to want to bring cam in. They don’t want a potential stud at QB blocking the rookie, but a guy like Fitzmagic is fine.

Samosas are great, everyone loves deep fried dumpling type food. There’s an indo-paki restaurant in the city called ghareeb Nawaz, they have 2 locations, theyre known for selling really cheap but good food. Like 5-6 bucks gets you a big container of rice and marinated chicken. I’d always get an order of samosas too, filled with potatoes and peas, some sort of sauce for dipping, lovely stuff. I’ll definitely check out what’s available. The woman doesn’t mind Indian food but it’s not her favorite so not sure how we’ll that’ll fly, plus she doesn’t like strong curry-like food odors stinking up the house, but maybe that’s mostly if you cook it at home, not so much reheating?
