rad! thanks for the link @buzzmobile;
Thanks for nothing, right? I hoped that the local station would stream the game, but it was only over the air broadcast to their local market. Cable cutting has consequences sometimes. I watched the game highlights and it was painful. So it goes.

heavy chicago accent
"Stap! Stap at the stap sign!"

Ive actually had fish cheek at a restaurant before
Grouper throats are a local delicacy at one restaurant here.

That's an interesting outfit, Buzz, like a version of an old school franciscan monk's robe? Looks comfortable at least. U really go around barefoot like that?
That was the Christ Family 'uniform'. The two guys that were at the front gate made it for me from a couple of bed sheets. The bag was made from the leftovers of the robe construction. White t-shirt was the head wrap and I really did go around barefoot as you see in the picture. That was in South Boston VA and the article was dated May 20. I walked out of Ft. Clinch on April 18, 1974 on Easter Sunday. The two guys were brothers, Michael and Robert, and I let them stay in my apartment for the night after I closed up the park. For quite some time during the previous fall and winter I had an unsettled feeling that a big change was coming in my life. It was a strong and strange sense of Spirit churning within me. We talked about the Book of Revelation and Apocalypse; the gathering of the 144,000; Babylon the great. They believed Babylon in Revelation is New York City, and this was in 1976 the Bicentennial year. The tall ships were going to sail into New York Harbor/Babylon and the Christ Family was on the way to gather and 'spiritually burn' New York City.

Reading Revelation Chapter 18 with the mindset above made sense to me.

My other brother, a year younger than me, was coming to visit that same weekend. He sat in with us and he decided to join up. We four set out for New York City. Somewhere in south Georgia my brother decided the Christ Family was not for him. He turned around and headed back to Florida. Michael followed my brother to see if he could change his mind. Robert and I continued on our way north. Robert was married and he had a wife and child in Atlanta so that became our next destination. We arrived and I was given a room for the night while Robert and his wife "discussed" her joining us in the Christ Family. Her screaming and yelling all night long at Robert telling him that she and the baby would be found in hell before she would even think about coming along with us to New York.

In the morning Robert told me he was staying with his wife and child. I went on my way. I traveled solo from that day until I reached the Big Apple.

Game’s almost over and brett rypien has thrown for 130yds and 1int, kupp leads the team with 48yds receiving. I sat puka in a fantasy league when it was reported stafford was out. Wish we could have seen what stetson bennett had but he's on non football injury list, for like alcohol or something? Coke? Maybe stafford will play next week. Fields also has a thumb injury and has missed 3 games so far.

Bears did trade a 2nd rd pick for montez sweat and also signed him to a contact extension. I guess chase young went for only a 3rd rd pick cause of his injury issues and the fact this is the last yr of his contract and who knows how much he’ll want on his next deal. Hopefully this deal will work out better than the chase claypool deal, bears wasted a 2nd rd pick on that guy and traded him for basically nothing to miami, who I think havent won a game since they got him. Sorry Buzz, he’s your team’s problem now.

Ive heard eating fish eyes is a thing, u ever eat fish eyeballs, Buzz? I imagine u like Forrest gump, only with fish instead of shrimp. Fish stew, fish sandwich, fish filet, fish balls, fish cake, broiled fish, baked fish, fish tacos etc etc.

That’s it Pops, im moving to california to take advantage of the social programs for the homeless. You can visit me in my tent city, with running water and porta pottys and electricity. We can hang out in my tent and smoke and drink, maybe watch football on my phone. Maybe one of the residents will be some cheap hookers. I know hawk would like that. We'll be smoking and drinking while hawk bangs all the local street whores.

No joke, DB, those fried clams look great, i'd pay a lot of money for a container like that. $100 for food seems excessive but to treat yourself and it included lobster that's worth it.

Tbag had like 4 turnovers and bears lost by 7. Fields might start on Thursday vs the panthers, Hawk, and win or lose the bears come out on top (with a higher draft pick since the bears own the panthers 1st rd pick too) so that might be something to look forward to, Hawk.

Hey DB, thanks for the love, we love you too. Are you feeling your emotions since the patriots, at 2-7, are the last place team in the AFC? This hasnt happened since before belichick became coach.

If u have a smartphone with unlimited data u can download the adblocker browser app and go to streameast . to (or google it, it might have slightly changed its name) and can play pirate streams of all the games. I use it to watch red zone on sundays, there's still popups when playing for the first time but u can close those tabs out or just leave them and go back to the original one and hit the play icon and should play.

Fish throats sound like a really tender, flavorful part of the fish, it's supposed to be called swamp chicken by some? I've had pig wings recently, it's like a part of the pork shank, as it cooks the meat recedes from the bone so u can pick it up and eat it like a somewhat larger than normal chicken wing.

pig wings.jpg

This is the first time ive seen a link to the bible on icmag, usually people here are quite non-religious.
That's a wild story, Buzz, i could see how NYC could be considered modern day Babylon, and with the centennial there was even more significance. You were quite impulsive back in the day huh? And poor Robert had to drop out before his wife and kid left him. But u still had the fortitude to go on? Was the whole Christ Family thing a positive experience in ur life, u think? They seemed like fairly positive people, no fornication, no violence (vegan) but liked cannabis, etc.

that sux that you could not catch the game @buzzmobile, dont you have an antenna to pick up local broadcasts on your tv?
i thought about streaming the game but got lazy and went for a hike instead
rams game =sux but the rest of teh action was actually pretty good
dal v phi was a fun game and came down to dak being dak in the end
cin is back and playing like they were expected to play this year, i guess the big difference is that joey.b can move his legs and run now and its brought that team back to life
panthers bears will be interesting but like you said baba, its a win win for the bears
/watch out for those cardinals thoe, they might want to swoop in on your #1 spot
tonight we get chargers v jets so maybe lacocs can get back on track and start winning some games
but as usual f-spanos
babylon is actually in iraq, a place they called mesopotamia
i guess ny could be seen as the modern equivalent to the sin city, but so could la london or any number of places around the world
it must be tough to be in a cult if you have kids, especially if you dident meet the girl in the cult
but it shows your conviction to the cause that you went on by yourself
/when you feel the spirit churning you have to go along
another great story man and id dig hearing about different religions and cultures
i dont think ive had fish throat but out here one of the best pieces of meat on a fish is the collar meat plus the belly part
it will cost you a shekle or two but if you like fish its a good piece of meat
those look like awesome ribs baba! looks like they might have some sauce on them too
hahah, why t'f would i visit you in the hobo jungle baba? when you can come and see me in my rich mans pad
no crazy neighbors (ok, at least not that crazy) the streets dont smell like pee and there wont be any brown trout swing in the streets

I have an antenna, but I am not in the local market for the Dolphins. I'm about 500 miles away from that market. Florida is a long state.

I am proud to know that "brown trout" has become part of the lexicon. Let that 'sink' in.

You going for those early morning walks like DB, Pops? I guess better to get ur exercise now than after you start drinking.
I thought buffalo would put up a better game vs the bengals than they did, but like u said burrow seems 100% now and josh allen couldnt superman the offense to more points. I think buffalo is like the 9th seed now in the AFC, 1st-7th seeds get playoff spots, so if the bills dont make the playoffs their fans might want a new head coach.
I didnt watch most of the eagles-cowboys game, but Dak had a good fantasy game, 375yds and 3 tds, but yeah they came up short at the end.

Christ Family seemed pretty benign for a 'cult', and you could use that term for any hard core religious people, Jehovah's witnesses, Mormons, etc. Certainly there are some bad actors in every religion, but there are bad actors in every position of power, politics, law enforcement, business, etc.
Sin city would be more Vegas to me than NYC, but that's just, like my opinion, man.

I think the belly of real tuna is like really expensive, that makes the most highly prized sushi in the world, and is almost like kobe beef in price. You ever caught bluefin tuna, Buzz? I hear one of those fish sells for thousands, or even tens of thousands. But u dont seem materialistic.

Yeah, the pig wings had a basic smokey sweet BBQ sauce on them. It was alright, like eating a pork chop on a stick. I got it from a chain pizza place so they probably werent the best example of what it could be.
No that's the thing, Pops, with the tent city they got bathrooms and washing stations and clean water supply so my place wont smell like pee or poo. The whores might be dirty or diseased though, we'll let Hawk worry about that.

MNF will be on ABC so channel 5 (or 33) around ur area, DB. Pop's right, kickoff is around 815pm ur time so not sure if you'll be awake for all of it.

I have not. One of the guys in the group that went to Costa Rica made a trip to Prince Edward Island, Canada a few years ago. He caught a 770 lb. Bluefin. It was enormous.

There's more to the story and it is not benign.

It was a cult. I walked alone to New York City and it must have been late June. The Christ Family was supposed to gather in Prospect Park in Brooklyn before the 4th of July. I went there for several days looking for them. People had seen them around but I did not find anyone. One day I was walking across the park and someone said, "Hey Hey, Buzz." I looked up and I was shocked to see Michael. Oh My Goodness!

Yeah, adult bluefin are like sharks theyre so big. You ever catch a shark? I guess shark meat is a thing.
Im guessing bluefin stay to mostly colder waters, otherwise you probably would have caught one by now, Buzz. Ive never been sportfishing, but michael jordan the basketball goat i think has taken it up and likes it enough to enter contests. Gotta love a sport where u can smoke and drink while playing.
Hey, who hasnt had a little meth on them and a gun? Man, if i went to jail every time i had a gun and amphetamines on me, i would spent half my life in a cage.
Dang, walking from georgia to new york city is a trip, u must have had so many experiences just making it up there. Did u have to work for ur meals and shelter? Ive seen too many movies where letting a drifter do some work in exchange for room and board and maybe $ ends up badly.
But that must have felt awesome seeing a friendly face in NYC. What's michael up to, he still kicking?

im only drunk on the trails when i walk with other
/they usually go on steeper trails and are much more conditioned hikers
those fags ditched me, something to do with me rather watching football instead of going on the time change hike ( i bailed out on them i guess); so i went solo to one of the local canyon trails
/i have no regrets!
i like getting in a good work out early so the rest of the day is me time
ancient babylon was a city that spanned several km's in size at a time when most people had never been more that a few miles from their home village
it was the big city of its time and i can only imagine what it must have felt like for an outsider to walk in for the first time
/lv is of course the sin city here in n.am, but thats only because the religious folks dont know how to gamble and lose all their money
oh wow @buzzmobile, i had a feeling this guy was screwy, but i had no idea how screwy it got
alcohol is natural, just like tobacco (a new world plant btw, so the real jebus prob had never smoked ciggies) and weed; meth not so much but who am i to questions gods gifts to man
but i digging on the stories and it sounds like michael was a cool cat man, what ever became of him?
i enjoyed readin your links man and it is a good read if you are into the mindset of people with different points of view
dak had a good game but came up short
3td and 350+yds passing sounds about right, i bet cd lamb did well too
but dak will dak when it comes down to it
dolts are playing mediocre, but their opponent are the jets; 14-3 at the half

but you are right and they are fanatical about their fish and will pay $$$
plus j'pan is a very nice place! (not like babas hobo crap shack) and the asian women love western men
hey man, mellow out and drink with the working man there and after a few beers you speak fluent DRUNK TALK!
they dont eat that prize fish in rolls, its that sashimi shit where it is just fresh cut fish cut and maybe some rice
i dont like raw fish too much but some of this stuff is crazy good

unless you are feeling wreak less! then drink the local clear sh!t but now you are getting f'd up,
/buys drinks for whole bar, stumbles out later but only breaks a $5
it helps to have friends in low places
did i give my taeks on the chargirls? if not here we go!
bbbbbbbbzzzz! <- thats the static electricity! herbert created by shuffling his feet around the field in his jammies! loonie tunes never even sparked one up!
but even with this low grade bzzzzz this is the jest*
/where is our man @Storm Shadow with hot charger takes!
but herbert and his zombie finger!** picked up a win and i guess thats what counts
that and f-spanos

Do you get energy when u have a few drinks in u, Pop? It’s the opposite for me I think, although a little walk never hurt nobody. It’s smart that you stick to the less steep trails if ur a little buzzed. And ur right, get that morning workout in so u can hit the booze and food hard later while watching football.

Yeah, apparently there’s a modern city next to the ruins of babylon in Iraq, it’d be cool to visit that area, including jerusalem and other noteworthy archaeological sites in the middle east/cradle of civilization. Then again u do the same in the SW US, exploring old west ghost towns. You ever visit an old native american village, Pops?

The real fatty tuna belly from bluefin tuna is called otoro and seems like it’s $12-25 per piece. Interestingly, the fatty collar from tuna might be more expensive, and goes along with what we were saying about fish cheek and throat. But yeah Hawk, I’ve bought frozen sushi grade tuna from the asian store and it’s like $25+/lb and that was for the cheaper red part of the tuna, plus I think bluefin is cheaper in the US than japan. And a lb would make a good amount of nigiri sushi (16-20 pieces) or maki (4-6 rolls depending on size).

I like Buzz’s writing style, descriptive enough but not pedantic, keeping the plot moving and always leaving us on cliffhangers. Do you keep a journal, Buzz? Maybe u should write a book or have a blog.

haha freaking dunkies! apple fritter sounds good man, did you get a coffee too
toro is the belly meat of a tuna, so otoro would be even better
but im not paying $$$ for no raw fish, i like the eel and the put it under the salamander to give it some char usually
i like walking alone for the most part so i just go with the flow
its when i hike with the group that are hard core and walk the hard trails that i hit the booze
/so what if im not DRUNK! (im just buzzed) and might burn down a bowl before the hike, i will keep up
....
shit man, times flying by
ill catch you brothers one the flip side

I didnt know Dunkie's had fritters, is that just for fall?
Imo, dunkie's doesnt have great quality donuts, but they are cheap, and if you get them pretty fresh they are great for the price. Im glad u enjoyed ur fritter. I hope ur still sticking to the diet, DB, although cheat meals/days are necessary imo in order to stick to diets long term.

The rams signed carson wentz as a backup to stafford, how do u feel about that, Pops? He wasnt good with washington last year, but after seeing rypien play QB maybe anything is better than that.
Are the rams on bye this week? That should give Stafford 2 more weeks for his thumb to heal, and hopefully the rams never have to play Wentz.

Speaking of new backup QBs, the passtronaut, josh dobbs, arrived in minnesota last wednesday and had to play the majority of the game 5 days later after the first backup got hurt. He didnt have one practice rep with the starters, barely knew the playbook and had 2 tds passing and 1 rushing to lead them to a come from behind win. Dobbs was actually decent with Arizona the first couple months of the season, but kyler is coming back from his acl tear so he was expendable. Still, after watching some horrendous backup QBs this year, so many teams in the nfl could use a backup like Dobbs.
