Made some picadillo.what you think pops? Does it look close to authentic or do you guys not do much in picadillo in cali?
I have not eaten any fish eyes. I have looked closely at fish eyes.Ive heard eating fish eyes is a thing, u ever eat fish eyeballs, Buzz?
That's a wild story, Buzz, i could see how NYC could be considered modern day Babylon, and with the centennial there was even more significance. You were quite impulsive back in the day huh? And poor Robert had to drop out before his wife and kid left him. But u still had the fortitude to go on? Was the whole Christ Family thing a positive experience in ur life, u think?
It was a wild trip. I believed without a doubt. That was the only way to make the walk. Every little sign along the way confirmed my belief. When I was so tired I felt I could not take another step a car would pull over and someone would ask, "Do you want a ride?"/when you feel the spirit churning you have to go along but it shows your conviction to the cause that you went on by yourself
I carried a shoulder bag with a bowl, a spoon, Bugler (the bugler logo was the angel Gabriel sounding the trumpet) tobacco, and sometimes people gave me money. Grocery store dumpsters were called "salad bars" for all of the edible foods that is wasted. Many kind people gave me food and shelter. I never asked for anything. When anyone offered anything I accepted. Yes/No questions always answered "Yes". I never had a weird question that would have demanded "NO!"Dang, walking from georgia to new york city is a trip, u must have had so many experiences just making it up there. Did u have to work for ur meals and shelter?
When I heard his voice it was totally awesome and completely unexpected. I had wandered all over Manhattan and Brooklyn looking for the Christ Family. People jeered at me or told me they had seen others around, and I kept on walking and looking. I think we spent a day together wandering the City still looking for others. As the daylight faded I left Michael and walked away. I dropped my head wear, my bag and blanket, untied my rope belt and walked around Manhattan. It was as if I had the punch line to The Cosmic Joke. Lots of people I passed, and I smiled and nodded to each as I shared the joke with them through my spirit. It was a long long night that got very dark. But that must have felt awesome seeing a friendly face in NYC. What's michael up to, he still kicking?
There are yellow tail snappers in the Keys down on the reefs, but they are not the California yellow tail.you guys get many yellow tail out there
I had the chance to try some otoro. I did not like it due to the texture. It was mushy in my mouth and I almost gagged. I finally got it down my throat. I declined when offered more. That is the first sashimi I did not like. The real fatty tuna belly from bluefin tuna is called otoro and seems like it’s $12-25 per piece.
I appreciate that, @Bababooey . I kept a journal for many years. I have not written to myself in many years.I like Buzz’s writing style, descriptive enough but not pedantic, keeping the plot moving and always leaving us on cliffhangers. Do you keep a journal, Buzz? Maybe u should write a book or have a blog.
Double Bonus, @D. B. Doober !The thing they removed from my hip wasn't cancer, thankfully. Big scar though. View attachment 18916265
I still had the robe on and boxers underneath. So when u dropped ur clothes u were walking around manhattan in ur jammies? That would have gotten a few smiles for sure.
