pre gaming it up and making a mess of things!
i decided not to get sandwiches but went and got some lumpia instead
too much lumpia
....
/left ovr post from yesterday

rams dident ram it and phi flew high over tb
you want to hear a fish tale?! how about the fin coming up form the depths and hanging a HUGE 70 points on the donks like @buzzmobile mentioned
get out of the kitchen russ, tua is cooking now
/best qb in the league?
does a bear sh!t in the woods? no it kind of shits all over itself and then blames coaches for over thinking the game
/too much football for fields?
i dont know what was worse, fields trying to throw the ball or him running like he was waist deep in the poopoo
good on your mom for stopping smoking ciggies, it must be tough for her and she just need time to get over them
the meat at costco is actually pretty good but you end up having to but several steaks so it adds up
if you can find a local butcher that would be awesome
farmers markets can be rad too, in tx they would have meat sellers who raised and process their own meat and it was a good price for great meat
hawwt question baba, marino or mahomes? like buzz said they played two different types of game, marino was a statue on the pocket and had little to no mobility
but with guys like mark duper and mark clayton put up the big numbers through the air and pretty much held every passing record for ages plus is one of the qbs who never won a ring but marino still cant be denied when you talk about the goats

That Dolphins fight song is even lamer than their team name, but I know the words to it.

Baby or fingerling potatoes are good cause theyre quick to cook, but ur right Hawk when ur cooking u want big ‘ol russets. I have some cooked italian sausage I can use to make my own soup, I don’t have any kale or potatoes but got plenty of beans and tomatoes/tomato paste I could use. Whats ur recipe?

3 prime ny strips for $60 is a heck of a deal, you’d probably pay $60 for one in a restaurant.
I doubt ur brother would even know that was a fridge unless u told him. Is this the brother that doesn’t want to take u to costco again? How many times have u kicked his azz?

So ur an OG Dolphins fan, before they were even a team, Buzz. I actually like the dolphin name, it’s rather unique in american sports. What name did u vote for?
That’s an interesting answer, Buzz, that u think Bob Griese is better than Marino. I first knew Griese from his days as a college football announcer, and through his QB son Brian, but later found out he was the QB for the undefeated Miami superbowl team. With the addition of a 17th game, that’s a record that might not ever be broken, at least in our lifetimes. I used to think that celebration (chilling a bottle of champagne at the start of each season and opening it when the last undefeated team loses) by the surviving ’72 Fins players was petty but now I think it’s quaint, especially because there’s not many left.
I knew of Csonka and heard of mercury morris (fantastic nickname) but didn’t know about jim kiick, so they had a 3 headed monster at RB: Csonka as the battering ram (6’3 and 240lbs which is Derrick Henry sized), Morris as the speedster and kick returner and Kiick as the all-purpose 3rd down back? No wonder Griese didn’t hardly have to throw much. But looking at his stats he was really efficient during the superbowl wins, so he had good accuracy. Makes u wonder what he could have done in a modern passing offense, as a smaller QB (6’1” 190lbs) did he move pretty well?
Buzz, does the Miami stable of RB’s (mostert, achane, soon jwj) remind of the stacked miami backfield of the 70s? Probably not, unless it reminds u of 3 Mercury Morris’s.

Yeah Pops, Stafford seemed a bit off during the bengals game but the bengals are supposed to have one of the better secondaries in the league. Also the fact that the O-line was blocking like last year’s version didn’t help, stafford got face planted a few times during the game. Still, they had the lead over a gimpy burrow until the 2nd half. Maybe best case scenario for the rams is theyre competitive but still lose, stafford stays healthy and the young guys continue to get better, and then reload with some high draft picks, maybe even trade stafford to the jets if they get desperate enough? U think the jets would give up a 1st and a 3rd rd pick for stafford? Their 2nd rd pick is owed to the packers next year.

I looked up that wisconsin woman killing and dismembering her boyfriend, yeah u sometimes hear stories like that, it's pretty brutal but i guess human bodies are so heavy it's easier to cut them up to dispose of them. But that's pretty stupid to do it in the basement of his mother's house, she found her son's head in a bucket in the basement, i think you'd be a little smarter than that Hawk.
I have chicken bouillon and half and half, would that substitute for broth and cream?

60% up is good, GoJoe! Im up 15% so far on mostly nfl bets, not sure how long that'll last though, lol. I remember last year we werent doing so good on the nfl, or was that the year before? Not sure...

sweet mini fridge hawk! are those two tall boys in the upper deck? can you fit another four cans in the lower level
that would be funy to talk up teh xbox only to have him come over and it dosent boot up on the tv
/hawk plays his role and says wtf?! then tears off the cover only to reveal beers!
does your brother drink much sounds like he is the "good one"; i have a sister who is the gold on so i know how you may feel
@buzzmobile
i always thought the dolphins name was cool and they have had one of the cooler logos in the league too! for ages
the fins were my first love back in the day, so i will always have a soft spot for them and they always seem to bring out enough in the offseason to temp you into believing in them
but this year feels different and if tua can keep his hat on straight i like them as much as anyone else in the afc
yeah man! what were the alt choices for names? if buzz had his way they would be the mia tarpons? the mia sand crabs...
inquiring minds want to know!
nfl names seem to follow a pattern and animals are the most popular, how many teams are named after horses? next up would be vocations i guess if you count vikings as a line of work? and what about the mythical creatures?
/chronic is stong this morning
@G.O. Joe
sounds like you are doing ok on your bets
if you can hold onto 60-ish % over they year you should be making money man
lunch is on gojoe!! what are we getting beef welk?
im doing ok on my taeks but im not covering the spreads and i keep missing the over/unders by a few points
but maybe thats why i dont bet anymore
the rams played like poop this last game but the ben'gals werent that much better until the second half
i was surprised at putting in joeyB but it should how desperate they were not to slip into that 0-3 slot
/statistics and all
if they could get a #1 for stafford anything else would just be gravy
i dont think th jets could afford another big money qb until the move on from ar.og
as long as a.rog dosent "retire" he is still guaranteed a shit ton of money form the jets
is this the way he thought he would end his career, riding the bench for a paycheck in his golden years? probably not but all the money is on the table for him

What name did u vote for?
I did not send in a name. There was not a list of names to choose. Most names submitted was the winner. Go Dolphins. ;) It's a good name but at the time there was nothing special about dolphins except for Flipper on TV. LOL There were plenty of them down there. They used to keep a tank in the end zone for "Flipper" in the early days. He'd leap up and somersault after a touchdown.

Remember Jim Hines? He was the first runner to break the 10 second mark in the 100 meter at the '68 Olympics.
1695839970702.jpeg

The Dolphins recruited him and I was at an exhibition game when Hines broke straight up the right sideline and was wide open. Griese laid one right on his hands 40 yards downfield. Found out right then that he could get wide open but he could not catch. He was given the nickname "Oops".

The Tyreek Hill trade reminded me of the Paul Warfield trade with Cleveland. The Dolphins have a history of big trades.

Look for some Griese highlights. He was not a scrambler but he could move well in the pocket. Nat Moore and little appreciated Howard Twilley were solid receivers.
what were the alt choices for names? if buzz had his way they would be the mia tarpons? the mia sand crabs...
Let's see if I can remember, @pop_rocks ...
Miami Sand Witches, Miami Square Groupers, Miami Snow, Miami Seacows... Cocaine Cowboys was already taken.

Miami Monkeys was my choice.

yeah i think that would work.probably gotta mix the boullion in water.fry up the sausage in a skillet.let it rest while you got the kale and potatoes going in a pot with the cream and whatever your gonna use for chicken broth.i dont know for a fact the bouillon will work.so sorry if its too salty or whatever.bring it to a boil.you might think you have too much kale but its usually never too much its gonna shrink big time.cut the sausage up and just let it simmer.if your using a lid make sure theres an opening for the steam to escape.it will bubble up and overflow the pot if you dont.thats pretty much it.season to taste.its really easy

i noticed that green thing on the door and thought it would be a good place to stash candy bars is you like em cold but you are right, its just a waste of space
a space that could be occupied by beers
8 beers in that little thing is pretty decent man, but im just trying to recall how bix the original xbox was
its not that big if i remember right and i just looked at my xbox one and it looks like it would be about the same size, 8 reggies looks about right
f'n'a man, $9 for a dries out beef sandwich? boo on that man
i used to like the arby beef sandwiches and they has good curly fries, but there are better choices out there
/what made you choose arbys?, why not jersey mikes man, it worth the extra $3 or whatever and i thought you were eating better food

i actually remember bob griese @buzzmobile
/puts on nerd glasses and whips ball down field!
i lived in pensacola when i was a kid till we came out west so i had some east coast ties
a f'n dolphin tank in the end zone would be rad, esp back in the day
look at tampa stadium now, dont they have pirate cannons and a hot tub or something like that in the end zone
/thats fla baby!
i dont know about mia jungle monkies, might rile some feathers and it seems a little too tiger king (wasnt he from fla)
but i like mia manatees! sea cows ftw
/but the logo would not have be as cool

Yeah Pops, the Fins are one of the few sports teams that has that aqua color in their team color, it’s fairly unique among pro sports although teal might be similar and is a popular choice for new teams or ones that rebrand.
The Commanders are almost definitely going to change their name again, and soon, but redskins is out. Is there a native american themed name that would be more respectful?
60% up over the first 3 weeks is amazing but everyone hits hot streaks and cold streaks, just have to be disciplined with bet size. Just like u said Pops, when u think you’ve got it figured out that’s when it reverses on u.
Burrow was pretty stinky the first half but the 2nd half turned it up and led a couple TD drives, he still cant move on a gimpy calf and his throws were mostly short but he made up for it with accuracy and a quick release.
Ur right pops I forgot stafford is getting like 40M/yr, jets cant pay 2 QBs 80M/yr combined. But if they give up some players to match salaries, maybe restructure some other guys’ contracts, maybe they can make it work. Kirk cousins is often discussed as a potential trade target for the jets and he’s on a 1yr 35M deal.

That might be kind of fun to have another live dolphin during games, Buzz, although I don’t know where they would put its tank. Like Pop said, don’t the Bucs or Jags have some sort of pool in their stadium for people to watch the game from? Miami should do that and put a dolphin in it, have a few of the cheerleaders in there too with bikinis on.

Looks like miami put an emphasis on speed back in the late 60s to mid 70s when they were at their best and won 2 championships. Theyre pretty much the fastest team in the league now: the 6 top speeds for ball carriers this season all belong to either mostert, tyreek or achane. I think Al davis tried to emphasize speed also in his drafts for the raiders, although much less successfully in the years before he died.

I remember the ricky williams trade, he has the single season rushing record for miami. How’d u like him as a player? That’s one dude who enjoyed cannabis.

Makes u wonder how guys like griese and staubach and namath would fare in today’s game. Theyre a little undersized compared to modern QBs but all the football players are bigger now, not just QBs. I guess if they were smart, accurate and tough they would have done just fine. It’s just amazing how different the passing numbers are now and back then.

Monkeys would be an interesting name and popular with the kids but Pop is right, there’s an issue with a team composed of mostly black players (league is 70% black) having that as their team name. But it would make for a cute mascot. Who wouldnt love a cute little monkey, that sits on ur shoulder?

I see Hawk, it’s almost like a cream of potato soup, just with sausage and kale added. I found some copycat recipes for that olive garden soup I can take tips from as well. Do u use a lot of cream in ur cooking? I don’t usually have heavy cream.

I guess Hawk had to try the brisket at arby’s just to see how it is, now I know to avoid it. If u care for their roast beef I think they have a 1-2-3 dollar menu with the roast beef and french dip on there, curly fries too, for a limited time, maybe go back for that but leave all their new expensive offerings alone.

Hugh Manatee, Buzz, that's hilarious. A manatee would be alright for a mascot i guess, although the O-linemen might not like the name as much.

i think the nfl is becoming more speed based now days with all the big arm qbs
you want a guy who can run the fly route and beat his coverage down field
if you time the pass just right hes going to pick up big yrds and blow the top off a defense
i remember ricky williams
if the jets want to trade for $tafford i would be all for it
i was talking to a friend last night and he thinks the rams have a chance at the playoffs at least with the team we have now
i still believe the rams are in rebuild mode as evidenced by the c.akers trade, but i think this was as much motivated by locker room politics as anything else
for $9 i would think of something better to eat, but i like the 1-2-3$ enu, especailly if it had a roast beef and curley fries on it
/both would be in the $3 range but still have you seen the prices of things these days?
maybe sea monkeys would be a better fit, but they dont look as cool as a real monkey
manatee are straight up fla but the logo and mascot would be kind of sea cow ish and not really inspire fear in the hearts of the opposing team
looking forward to seeing goof play tonight and i hope they have the alt broadcast team option
available

Monkeys would be an interesting name and popular with the kids
The Monkey Jungle is a long time attraction just north of Homestead. A high school friend worked there and he performed demonstrations with chimps on a stage. If the chimps were not behaving Bob would take the chimp by the arm and give it a shake. Monkeys and chimps are extremely strong. Bob was a large human. One day the chimp decided that Bob was not going to shake him. The chimp grabbed Bob by the forearm and slung him against a wall.

Those Miami Monkeys are tough.
Hugh Manatee, Buzz, that's hilarious.
Hugh's friends and family swim upriver from the Gulf of Mexico in the winter. The closest spot around here to see them is at Wakulla Springs. They need warm spring water to keep from dying from the cold.

yeah its kinda like cream of potato soup baba.i dont use a lot of cream when cooking.this is pretty much the only recipe i use with cream.my mom wanted me to use onions.i guess i could do that.id rather not.if im gonna do that might as well use fresh mushrooms too.you really cant screw this recipe up unless you burn something.if you never had it you will probably really like it.i would probably recommend spicy italian sausage though.my mom didnt get the ingredients right so i gotta go back to the store and get the stuff myself..if you make it let us know.

not really excited for any games sunday.tonight should be ok.gotta go with packers unfortunately.guess we will see
