too close to call here but i will throw out a few taeks
i think the final over/under will be +50 but the score at the half will be< 25 (less than)
a friend at work was talking about some of his action and he has money on bosa being mvp; it sounds like good odds but im leaning towards ma'hommie, pat mahomes
/the mvp usually ceoms from the winning team so you can read into that what you will
this one is almost too close to call but i cant wait for sunday; its going to be a great game
one sure thing is we are going to be grindin all afternoon on sunday with a all star spread
so we are getting a couple pizzas for the game from one of our favorite places plus the mrs is making a big tray of veggie sticks
/celery, carrots, bla bla bla
but the game breaker is going to be a spicy buffalo chicken dip
i first had it at a work pot luck and fell in love with the stuff at first bute
its basically cream cheese, red hot sauce and pulled chicken with cheese
this stuff was dank and i even asked to take home the left overs from the pot luck so i could share it with teh mrs
can not wait for the action to start, its going to be on!!

Yeah Bungle, that’s the one thing I cant get out of my head either, is that u can say well the niners pass rush will sack him 4-5x, that the niners run game will average 6yds/carry and just wear down the chiefs D for 4 quarters, but it’s that MAHOMES factor, that all he needs is a few unbelievable throws to put 30pts on the board. You can shut him down for a quarter or two but eventually he and Reid, who was an offensive genius before mcvay hit puberty, can explode for 3 td’s in 10 mins, like when mahomes threw 4td passes in the 2nd quarter after the texans took a 21-0 lead.
So im flipping back and forth between picking the niners and the chiefs. I have no dog in this fight so the compassionate side of me wants the chiefs to win, since it’s been 50 years since they won a lombardi and they’ve had a lot of playoff heartbreak since then; remember the comeback from 28pts down by the colts in the 2013 playoffs? Also, Mahomes can be getting chased and hit by the niner’s D-line all game long, but if he can break free 5-6x and find a streaking Hill or Hardman downfield for a long gain or TD, that can be all they need to eke out a win.
Hey Hawk, sometimes when I have to work during a game or UFC match ill avoid all sports news until I can tape or download the game/fight later. So not sure if it’s possible for u to tape the game or download it later and avoid all mention of the scores until you can watch it but that might be one possibility. And like u said, it’ll be super warm for a Feb day in the midwest, so might as well enjoy the weather…

Sounds like you’ll have quite the buffet for ur get-together, Pop. What kind of pizzas are u getting? Can’t go wrong with thin crust (or regular crust) pepperoni. Thin crust sausage is good too. U have a lot of vegetarians showing up? Plain cheese is a little boring but can be flavorful as well, throw some parmesan and crushed red pepper on there. I always get extra sauce on my pies, it’s always free and adds a good amount of flavor and juice to every slice.
Around here all the pizza joints have the chicago special, which is basically sausage mushroom green pepper and onion. Not sure if they have a socal special in your area, and what would that be? Like a california special, with arugula and avocado and other types of rabbit food? I kid, I kid…
I’ll probably wind up having burgers again, although I have a coupon for a new pizza place that opened up near me, might try them out also.
So, decided to try my bacon-burger mix again, this time cooking the bacon beforehand and mixing it into the ground beef.Here are the strips cooked in the oven, didnt make them crispy cause i figured i would cook them through in the skillet.
Chopped 5 thick slices into small pieces, mixed with a little over a lb of 90/10 beef (got the leaner beef because i figured the bacon would add more fat). Added some salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder, and a dash of worcestershire.
Go into a hot skillet, let cook for about 30 seconds or 1 min on one side, flip to the other side and then smash them down. Letting them cook for a bit before the smash helps keep ur spatula from sticking to the meat, imo.
Getting a nice maillard reaction going, nice brown crust forming. About 2.5-3 mins on each side (I did flip once more, the initial browning wasnt enough to cook the first side, of course).
Threw a slice of kraft singles on the patty after final slip, toasted some buns in butter in another pan.
Dressed them up with raw yellow onion thinly sliced (would have done grilled or sauteed onions but didnt plan ahead and i was hungry!), ketchup and yellow mustard. Had baby dill pickles on the side. Could have bought a gallon jar of pickle slices at sams club for like $4 but didnt want to keep a giant jar of pickles in my fridge for the next 2 years, the small jar of baby dills is fine although theyre hard to slice theyre so small.
Verdict: not bad, although the woman said u couldnt really taste the bacon in the burger meat and i agree. Next time ill try to crisp up the bacon first and then mix it in, the bacon didnt really cook anymore in the burger even though i cooked them through (no pink inside). Still they were tender and had good flavor, especially from the cheese. Next time ill leave out the seasonings as well, except for the dash of worcestershire, might leave that in. Ill just S+P the patties while on the skillet, and if i find some msg ill use a bit in the salt too, will have a shaker of 1/4 msg and 3/4 salt that ill use if i want to add some more umami to a dish.

50 Super bowls ago, the first game I can still remember! My Vikings were favored by 14! My old man's cussing and yelling got so violent I slipped away during the 2nd half.

Sorry to hear you couldn’t really watch the game, Phatty. I guess there must have been a lot of streamers hogging up the bandwidth for the game. Youll see that also for big PPV fights, a crappy stream because of all the watchers. Some programs like acestream get around that by having watchers contribute to uploading as well as downloading, so u might want to look into downloading acestream for future sporting events. It’s a free program, works off vlc player (iirc) and just need to find an acestream link for your desired event.
Yeah Midnite, the chiefs beat the vikings 50 years ago for their previous superbowl win. Minnesota still has never won a championship, although they’ve had some pretty good teams lately. The defense and run game were great this year, and kirk found a groove, but they lost 27-10 to the niners after beating the saints in the first round. Maybe next year they’ll get it together and make a deep playoff run. Of all the nfc north rivals to the bears, I suppose I wouldn’t hate seeing them win a lombardi, just to shut up all their complaining over the years.

For chorizo, I normally get a brand called Supremo, all their products come in a green and white packaging. It’s fine, a carniceria that makes their own chorizo might be as good or better. I guess you’d just walk up and ask for chorizo? Should be displayed right in the case if they make their own…
Gypsy has that euro/british mentality that American football isn’t really ‘football’ in that you rarely actually kick the ball, and that rugby is a rougher sport since youre not wearing the big plastic armor and pads and helmet that american footballers use, and that in europe soccer and rubgy matches arent interrupted by 5min long commercial breaks every 15 mins. Which I can honestly get behind, every time I watch a euroleague or international soccer match im surprised that a 90 min games actually finishes in 90 mins (or 100 mins including stoppage time) instead of 3 hrs like an american game would take with all the freaking commercials…

Heh, people said the same thing about the chiefs before mahomes came along. The vikings have made a couple conference championship games this past decade (once with Favre in 2010 or 11?, once with keenum 2 years ago) so they've gotten somewhat close, just havent been able to get over that hump. I guess signing kirk cousins they thought would be the final piece, but cousins is no mahomes, that's for sure.

we made enough shredded chicken to also have bbq sliders but i was so into the game that i just munched on half slices of pizza ( we would cut the giant pieces in half)
so it turns out the place we went wasnt the ny giant pizza, but it was like ny ny giant pizza or some junk so their specials were different
but we rolled with it and ended up getting two three topping pizzas for a fair price
i went with a gyro meat, olive and green pepper pie and the mrs got feta, mushrooms and onions
all in all i thought both pizzas were super good and wold totally go back again
