That's pretty much how I see it baba, except Thursday games are generally much lower scoring, and heavily favor the home team probably adds an extra -3 for hfa. I prefer closer games or games that will go shot for shot, I feel like expected blowouts can be unpredictable and generally turnovers have a lot to do with it. Last number is total fantasy pts allowed to the position. Kc has allowed a passing td in all but one game this season...I went with Matty ice, fwiw.
KC is up 21-3 midway through the 2nd quarter after Tyreek Hill's 2nd TD of the game (makes me wish i had started him!). Maybe now Oakland starts throwing it 80% of the time in order to catch up; should mean good stats for Carr, even if Oakland loses...
About the time you posted I was thinking the same thing...but it became obvious quickly that finger wasn't doing so good in the cold weather...fuck...
But they a young bunch...they needed a spanking before playoffs...and they got it...
No #1 seed for raiders...but again...good...they coming up and they need to earn that shit...
What's an extra playoff game for the young ins? Get some...and FUCKJOHNELWAY! Put a hashtag on that shit!
San diego chargers next up for Oakland. Their main RB Melvin Gordon got hurt today so he prob wont be ready. Winnable game for Oakland. Titans gave denver donkeys a loss today so more cushion for KC & Oakland in AFC West. Alot of .500 teams still in hunt in NFC & AFC gonna be interesting final weeks to see who rises and falls in crunch time.
A lot of punting by the Cowboys and Seahawks. The Hawks for the most part have looked lost offensively in road games, and Dak has looked every bit the rookie the last two games.
Will the hawks without Earl thomas be vulnerable on defense now? If so, then count them out of another super bowl run, unless wilson can will them to average 30ppg in the playoffs.
should romo get the start now that dak has looked vulnerable the last two weeks?
melvin gordon is scheduled for an mri today. Just another injury hit for the chargers; they lost keenan allen and danny woodhead early on, last year it was offensive linemen. Rivers was the only person keeping that team together, and now he's being plagued by turnovers. The chargers and the rams will get to share a stadium soon, hopefully at least one of them will be good most years, otherwise it'll be hard to keep the locals excited about nfl again...
Yeah, football season always passes pretty fast, it seems.
Yeah, it's kind of a mystery why Spanos and company let the contract dispute with Joey Bosa drag on as long as it did; he's been pretty impressive when he's been healthy, maybe the chargers could have won another game or two if bosa had had a full camp and entered the season healthy.
Are you guys dissing elway because he was a division rival, or is he also kind of a jackass in real life? Along with his success as a player (i think he had the record for most QB wins before being passed by favre and then peyton, and then brady...?) he's certainly had good success as a GM. After peyton and the broncos record setting offense got worked over by the Hawks two years ago, he did an impressive turnaround and made the broncos into the leagues best D and won a ring in peyton's last year. That D is still championship caliber, but the qb play has been up and down this year to say the least. Maybe osweiler should have stayed in denver, he's certainly not doing houston much good...
Kind of weird that the rams gave fisher an extension before the season began and then fired him 14 games in, but thats what owners do, make stupid decisions. The Rams offense had regressed this year (nick foles is going to be the new kyle orton, a good backup QB that can win some games when your starter's out but isn't going to be much better than replacement level over time) by starting case keenum and now goff; i guess the rams will try to get a head coach that can develop a qb/passing game.
The cowboys and dak got back on track, beating an up and coming bucs team; still, they haven't wrapped up the division, with the giants holding the tie breaker over them. So no rest for these cowboys yet...
The giants beating detroit and green bay beating chicago leaves the division open for the packers, if they can complete their sweep of the last 6 games of the season. Impressive to go from 4-6 to 10-6, and they seem to be clicking on both offense and defense now, for the most part. Aaron Rodgers has 32 tds and 7 ints, same as matt ryan. Brees has 34 tds and 14 ints (and leads the league in passing yds too), brady has 22 tds and 2 ints. I think rodgers might steal the mvp award (would be his 3rd overall) if he, and the packers, keep it up and win the division.
Bears still sit at 3 wins and the #4 overall draft pick, behind jacksonville, san fran and of course cleveland.
People say john fox should be on the hot seat, but i think you give him at least another year; the defense got better this year, at least the front seven, and you cant blame fox for the complete implosion of jay cutler's career. It would just be typical bears fan luck for cutler to go somewhere like the jets (his best years were with brandon marshall as his #1 receiver) and totally revive his career. Probably highly unlikely, but if he could just stop turning the damn ball over so much, he's not a half bad qb...
Wow...I haven't been punched in the nutsack in YEARS but today I was reminded exactly what it feels like....
Let's see my boy Mcgloin "game manage" the raiders thru the playoffs... Stranger things have happened
I'm gonna go puke
It's strange that 3 players all broke their right legs on saturday; derek carr, mariota and tyler lockett of the seahawks (lockett's might have been a compound fracture, as his injury was bleeding).
The raiders still won that game, and knocked indy out of the playoffs. Theyre still in the running for a 1st rd bye although the chiefs are coming on strong.
It was kind of a dream season for the raiders up until they lost carr. Still, even with Carr it was unlikely they were going to be real championship contenders; their defense overall didnt improve this season (currently ranked in the bottom third of the league, same as last year). Khalil mack had an incredible streak of game winning strip sacks this year but they need more playmakers around him. However, just to play in a playoff game or two would have been good experience for this team; theyll still get that experience, just not with carr under center, unfortunately.
The raiders are still trending up; carr seems to get better every year, they have one of the dominant offensive lines in the game, and if their defense gets better over the offseason theyll be a contender for years to come.
The chargers were hovering around .500 a month ago but lost 4 in a row, culminating in a close loss to the previously winless browns (who are not going to go 0-16, yay browns!).
Mike Mccoy has the chargers at 5-10 now, after having only 4 wins last year. He might be a prime candidate to get replaced next week (black monday, the first day after the end of the regular season, when probably 20% of the league fires their head coaches). With a qb like rivers, you should do better than 4-6 wins a season; and yet, rivers doesnt play defense, and the chargers have given up about 25ppg this season and last, and even tom brady would have trouble winning games if he had to score 30ppg all the time...
now is the time for the raiders to d up
that was a tough loss for the team and throws ice on a red hot season
it seems like going 0-16 is as tough as going 16-0
/merry christmas cleveland
im surprised mccoy made it this far but i hvae the feeling that this is a throw away season for the chargers
chances are the are going to la next year and look to make changes then
the mood around town is non existent
it feels like san diego has already checked out on the chargers
im not happy about this whole deal, its not just the move but the way spanos had treated the city, the team and the fans
regardless, i cant wait to see who moves where next year
so the fins made it in and tampa bay may still have a chance
im surprised to not see denver in the mix
lots of great teams and a few new faces in this year!
cant wait for the post season to begin!
Poprocks, is it pretty much a done deal that the chargers are moving to LA for 2017? Now that San Diego voted against funding a new football stadium last month?
The cowboys whooped up on the Lions last night. We get to see the lions try to salvage their season next sunday night against the Packers, with the division on the line. Should be a good game.
The cowboys will have home field advantage throughout the nfc playoffs, and have a 1st rd bye to boot. The offense, led by Dak and Zeke, is just humming along, but their D is #4 in the league in scoring defense. So they seem in an ideal position to make a playoff run, but we'll see how it goes. The Giants, for one, seem to have their number. Depending on the playoff seeding, maybe they wont meet till the conference championship game...
yeah, it looks like its as official as its going to get until the january deadline
i guess during the raiders game spanos pretty much said hes moving and then tried to blame the city and the fans
i guess there is a slight chance ( snowballs in hell type of thing), that he stays but he is not getting a publicly funded stadium here where he wants it ( downtown)
if he was willing to work wiht the city im sure he could get something done in mission valley, but hes already said thats not good enough
im interested in hearing the terms he gets from kronkey (sp??)
kronkey does not need spanos as a tenet and holds all the cards
i think cowboys have to be the favorite in the nfc right now
they are playing on fire but like you said, the giants have their number
but any number of teams can do dem boys a big favor and knock off the giants before they would meet up
LOL at jellyfishes comment.its hard to believe that the Cowboys are 1 out of 4 teams in football history to have no wins in an entire season back in 1960.buccaneers were another team.cant remember the other two.since i cant say anything nice about the bears,im rooting for atlanta this year.they are looking good this year.julio Jones is awesome.i guess Hester is done for good though huh?man Hester was great on the bears.
In Indianapolis tonight, Colts owner Jim Irsay's gonna discuss whether the organization is "going in the right direction." In other words, Coach Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson are gonna be on the hot seat, just like last year, except last year everybody had Luck's injuries as an excuse. Should be interesting to see what the drug-addled (heavy duty narcotics) heir to the Colts empire will have to say.
